"Who are Trump's biggest allies in Europe" = The title of this video. "Who are Trump's biggest allies in the EU" = Thumbnail of this video. Europe ≠ the EU and you should know this.
Why the EU will never decouple from US or China: -Population is too old and too much money goes to pensions. There aren't enough young people to take risks. -Too much regulations and taxes to make innovation in tech, digital and AI companies competitive. Labour costs are just way too expensive to make producing thungs like EVs and tech competitive. -Unlike the US and China, EU has next to no natural resources of their own (90% of raw mineral processing is done in China). Even if they do start mining the minerals they do have, this will destroy EU's net zero commitments as deindustrialization was precisely how we were to achieve it in the first place. -Too culturally diverse and divided to reach any meaningful consensus on anything.
Honestly we (meaning the entire world including EU, US, and China) are never going towards a lasting prosperous future if there's always gonna be disagreement and differences in policy interpretations and executions. So much for global co-operations and commitments. Only God will save us now (once again).
-Too much money goes to salaries, yet the richest get richer faster. -Too much regulation, ideology and naive faith in globalization.Europe has cheaper, educated workers in the East EU part than America can have. -Deindustrialization on that scale and maintaining an important position in the world is a delusion. The whole of Europe cannot function like e.g Greenland or Switzerland, because even Switzerland can afford its status only because Europe is satisfied with it. -So they also introduced multiculturalism and ghettos where people do not even learn the language of the country they came to. EU politicians are corrupt idiots.
I greatly disagree. - Population is also a problem in the US and especially in China, besides most entrepeneurs contrary to what you might believe are people in their 30s. Also if youth was a sign of prosperity then Niger and Congo should be like Singapore. - That is a problem if you want to get rich quickly. If growth and wealth are not well distributed they will cause social conflict which in turn hurts innovation. In Europe we build economies and businesses like Cathedrals, they might take longer to build but damn sure they are stronger. - China also lacks many resources, which they get through the Strech of Malakka from Africa. This means Europe needs to have a common foreign policy to supply its common economy. - Thats BS, Im sorry, we have achieved SO MUCH already, by your own logic we shouldnt have an EU to begin with
It's funny to me that people get upset at Trump for wanting European countries to spend more on defense, and their response is, "Fine, we can't rely on you, so we'll spend more on our defense."
I don't think it's fair to characterize Spain France and Germany's responses are "more muted". They are what's expected of normal international diplomacy. It's the other guys that are as unprofessional in their diplomacy as they are in their politics and personality. They treat politics like a game and they might think their team won, but their people are going to suffer and Trump will stab them in the back as well and not care one bit.

European "conservative right" is 100% populist. If needed they will pivot their discourse, just like they did a few years ago with the EU talking points after Brexit.

I have some advice for European politicians including Viktor and Nigel queuing up faun over Trumpterty-tumperty-tump-tump- It comes from a song of the 1960s, "Don't ask him what he thinks of YOU; he might not give the answer that you want him to".
That's so 2000s. Ever since 2008 the USA beat the EU in terms of productivity and they keep marching ahead. This wasn't so problematic in the beginning but right around EU started becoming more autocratic and federalist they also kept sliding even further down in comparison to the US. The trade wars of the first Trump term in fact cemented this for at least the coming decade. So yeah, EU is no longer the power bloc it used to be. It has wondrous human capital yet companies flee EU-zone, resource prices are sky-high and living standards face a crisis. EU should stop focusing on stupid fights and actually face their real issues after pretending everything is fine for 10+ years.
@@damienreilly4347well Clinton assisted to bring peace to our island and US enriched us with Foreign Direct Investment, ahead of many others. Without America, we would have anywhere near the tech we use daily.
I'd say Trumps rhetoric signals that the EU should take harsher stances against US demands, cut most of the spending on immigrant aid (if they want to come here they can live in the forests and if they freeze to death they freeze to death) and improve spending on defense. Clearly Trumps idea is that the US should be allowed to benefit from treaties while not having to give back (e.g. in the case of NATO)
Free trade no longer benefits the USA with Europe since the USSR collapsed and US continued subsidies on defence so that EU can focus their investment on their economy is parasitic in the eyes if the USA.. Plus, Asia is now more important politically and economicaly than Europe. Europe is nit as important as it used to be.
What does that mean? The whole thing trump is complaining about is the the EU outsourced it's defence to the US, a relationship that he feels the US doesn't benefit from.
@@HellDuke- youtube stop deleting my comments. Europe isn't as important to the USA to justify it subsidizing thier defense so that EU can focus that budget that would otherwise go to the military on economic development instead. Asia is now more important than the old tiny continent.
@@shnitzilhazel9957 the only country to invoke article 5 of the NATO treaty and have other members respond is the USA. The only benefit for other countries was a "what-if" scenario, and Trumps rhetoric pretty much puts a heavy question mark on it. @Tonius126 there is no subsidizing happening, the EU benefits from the US only as a cudgel that can be used, sort of like nuclear weapons. Don't attack, or all of NATO, USA included, will hit you back. It doesn't really cost the US much extra. On the flip side, if the EU does manage to pull their collective shit together, it might lead to a scenario where the US might find itself without any military allies depending on whether Trumps bluffs of not defending NATO countries are tested by anyone.

In the past, Europe dealt with the lack of natural resources by imperialism and colonies, guess that can’t happen now…
-Too much money goes to salaries, yet the richest get richer faster.
But it's not just defence, is it? The big issue is trade and tariffs threats.

You have to try to (somehow) get on with Trump, theres no way around it.
It takes two to tango.
Allies is misleading term, interests are better
What an unbiased thumbnail 👍
Europe and America are equals, one should not dominate the other. Just because Europe wants to be independent doesn’t mean they won’t be allies.
