I just picked up a CZ527 to convert to 6ARC. However, I have always loved FS rifles having had a Sako Finnbear 7mm Rem. Mag and now have a H&R 270 with FS. I spent a career working in the large wilderness areas in MT and WY and like the FS carbine size for carrying in a saddle scabbard as well as simply liking the looks.
Bought my 527 FS in .223 to compliment my 452 FS in .22. Both not made anymore for the sake of economy. Also on the CZ website they promote this as being able to handle .556 safely.
I have one with the American stock and it was a charmer right out of the box. 5yrs later the mechanism is still snug. I love the set trigger. Beautiful and accurate. Worth the money no question.
CZ says the bolt is made a little rough so it will marry with the receiver over time. Ive put about a thousand rounds threw my 455 lux and after only a few hundred rounds I could feel a difference. Now 1000 rounds in. its just as smooth as what you would expect and want!
Fantastic review. I have the same rifle on the way. I also have a CZ 550 FS (30-06) and it has proven to be an excellent deer rifle here in northern North America. I plan on using this CZ 527 FS in 223 as a "woods roaming" rifle for plinking and varmint hunting. I'm not going to scoping it as most shots in my region are less than 65 yards in distance and I want to keep the rifle slim and trim. How far down does the 3 round magazine sick out from the bottom of the rifle?
Hi thanks for the view if you get one you won't be disappointed plus the adjustable trigger is just fantastic. I also wanted to buy the three round magazine instead of this five round one but the one that they have on their website does not work with this rifle without modifications i tried them in the store you can't cycle the round. So i didn't buy it maybe they just had a bad stock. If you buy one make sure you can return it if it doesn't work properly. Otherwise it's completely flat as it can be.
The full stock version just sold me . I have been wondering on this rifle for a couple years now but I never saw the full stock like that . Sold ! Ill be buying one tomorrow !
@@TheClayCoKid I can only find them in .223 so I am still hunting . I got one of the carbine models and it is in every respect a Winchester model 70 in mini form but with a removable box mag . It is a sweet rifle I cannot wait to hunt deer with . I hope to find a full stock 300 blackout or 7.62x39 before then but i'll never buy it in .223 .
@@jesusoftheapes I found the 223 and 222. If which neither excite me. If I could find the FS in 22mag I would love it for squirrels. Any classic deer rounds would be ok too. Like maybe a 6.5. I have a 338 Fed, they would be a sweet gun with a full stock.
Hi you might wanna check the Cz 557 instead of 527 family of rifles if you can get one in your desired caliber. I think they stopped making them in full stock version which is a shame because it's a beautiful rifle. Hope you find one.
@@MrZRNEC The 557 are full sized rifles . I have looked at them . They are very nice but the size of he 527 rifles is so great as a truck and brush rifle . Have you ever shot the 557 ? how to they feel in comparison ?
Now I'm not sure but I heard that loading it one At a time like that isn't good. and that it will break the claw extractor or something. Because its sopose to grab it from the rim of the casing from the magazine. and then push it in the chamber. And if you put a bullet in one at a time like that the claw isn't locked around the rim of the casing. And you put more tension on the bullet and the claw extractor. Because the roud is in front of the Claw and not locked in between it.
You can load them 1 at a time. Thing is your not supposed to run the round all the way up into the chamber because it can break the claw extractor. You drop the round in the gun then move the bolt forward when the round starts to enter the chamber the claw will grab the rim of the cartridge just the same as when it comes up out of the mag so it doesnt damage the claw extractor.
Thanks for the review, mate, it is one of the best I have seen around. I am getting one next week (Varmint .223), but I just wonder if actioning the bolt is any confortable, it doesn't seem to be a lot of space for the tip of your fingers... or maybe it is just the angle the range part of the video was taken that make it look that way. I would greatly appreciate if you (or anyone) can comment on this.
Well coming from a mauser rifle the bolt looks and feels tiny(almost cute), but you can get used to it. Its not a problem for me it's comfortable i was more worried that there wasn't enough space between the bolt and the scope luckily there is. if you want additional pictures from any angle let me know. You won't regret it CZs are awesome rifles just get the one you like.
Hi i'm using the cheapest stuff i can get my hand on usually that means 55gr S&B ammo for 100 meters its more than good enough. If i wanted better precision or longer range i would go with RWS, Geco or handloads, besides that i haven't tried anything else. Maybe try up to 70gr ?
Thats a lovely rifle. I see many with the stocks splitting at the reciever tang in the videos. Has yours shown any of this problem yet? Really a great looking rifle. Great video.
@@MrZRNEC you have made a good point. The stress of the 762x39 must rupture the grain of the stock at the through bolt in the tang. Again, you have a handsome piece to be proud of.
I mostly use the same stuff as in the video the cheapest ammo i can get sellier & bellot 55gr fmj i'm quite satisfied with the results. I also tried Hornady superperformance gmx federal 55gr and Barnaul. My opinion stay away from Barnaul everything else works great.
It’s simple i already have a .308 and 30-06 in bolt action but this is my first .223 bolt action and I would definitely buy one more if I could but they don’t make them anymore.
@@MrZRNEC Yes but the custom shop will probably still build you one for a little more. I talked to custom shop last year about building a 300 H&H magnum with aperture sights it wasn't going to be to bad about 2k. I waited. Haven't talked to them lately. Thanks

I had a 527 FS, and currently have a 550 FS. They are really beautiful!
It looks as though CZ has stopped exporting the FS models to USA.
it's even worse than it looks. They stopped producing the fs models.

I agree the magazine is the one thing that bothered me. It hangs down and is sharp on the fingers. CZ makes a good rifle though.

What ammo are you using? I find that mine is very picky and my rounds are 'wobbling' -- I need to dial in my bullet weight to this rifling.

I have the little brother of that but I’d like one of these, very good looking rifle 👍👍
Great video. How is it using the scope with the drop in the stock? Is it hard to get a good sight picture?
nope, the sight picture is fine for me
good afternoon, how high are the mounts of your telescopic sight ???
Wish they still made the 527 fs
A few years back I was gonna buy one of these till I saw it has a 1 by 12 twist rate. It should be at least 1 by 8.
Until 2002, it was. From then onwards it's 9:1
Shure it is a magnificent rifle , I have a cuestion , ....where are you from ? , your accent hears quite elegant....
Going to take a wild guess based on the accent and his user name. Slovenia.
Stupenda...

i've seen does too as far as i've seen that happened on 7,62 cal rifles and not on 223. Anyway mine is completely fine and still in warranty.

Thailand does not import at all. Is in great demand
Nice gun
What's the price of a gun?
Would this be a good hunting rifle, and how weather resistant is it?
If you like a full stock version and hunting deer .223 will be good enough otherwise i would go with cz 557 in .308 fs or carbine.
I use my 223 for foxes and it's great. I have it 8 years now and just keep it clean and it's running perfect still
Sadly they are not making the 527 anymore.
I think the only bad thing is that it’s doesn’t seem to cycle a new round and that’s a deal breaker haha.
Are you complaining that the trigger is too light? Forgive me while I roll my eyes.
How much it cost you ? In us $ s ?
How many magazines are there with the unit?
Just one
Magazine optional?
Отличный карабин, лёгкий компактный, имею такой.
Ствол 47 см? Как показал себя?
Отлично
Too bad CZ discontinued the FS midel including the 550 FS IN 6.5X55 SE
I always got rings included.
How much ?
Will this chamber 556 safely?
Yes. CZ builds these to NATO standards, and they handle .556 without any problem.
You cannot lightly work the bolt on a Mauser action especially a new gun.
I thought these were discontinued?
they are now unfortunately
sLOVEnc it is such a shame that they did because it is such a beautiful rifle.

You have an opposite opinion on the trigger 😂
