@@GenaF Hi! Personally I don't notice anything more than I do when I'm in Sweden etc. I live in a sensitive area though, so I do need to apply for permits to stay in our village. They are so used to me now though, so I'm not sure they really care anymore.
You were right about the hotel. Delightful. All to yourselves. Loved the interior and seeing the boys having time to play. I know that at high altitudes tummy issues are common at first. This is a wonderful series. Thank you all.
So many of your videos are like Dr. Who... I feel immediately transported back 2000 years back.... Magical. The technology have changed, but the land remembers.

beautiful! i was born and lived in a rural village where there's counterless mountains, in souteast coast of china, 20 years past, now most of us move to the city apartment, never been to the NE part, hope in the future i have time and espeacially some friends to share the beauty of it
Lovely ambience and scenery. Nothing like eating in a place, rating and washing down with tea or coffee. Perhaps, you should let us know the address of the hotel and your viewers may visit the hotel if fate decrees. I do agree that visiting is best done with a car.
actually there is one question which I am really curious and It is a pity that you did not ask the restaurant owner............."who are your customers? , are they from china or from other foreign countries ?". I am curious because the location is so remote so it would be interesting to know visitors are from which province/country. :-)
There is something sad about this video. The income disparity between the subject and the observer is striking. A big new jeep and people who have to harvest their animal feed with only a hand tool. The income inequality in China is sad.
pls take your performative nonsense elsewhere. Qinghai is a vast, treeless, sparsely populated province akin to Mongolia or some very dry rural American state. do you expect to see sky scrappers and landrovers before you agree that rural folk are doing well.
This kind of farming without mechanical help is back breaking. You can only do it for so many years. Modernization has not reached this part of the country. Though China has some modern and very developed cities, the wealth is not shared equally amongst the citizens. There are many places where people still live poorly.
This is a pasture, the local farmers turn the pasture into farmland to feed more cattle and sheep, this is a way to increase income, farming is just their spare time to carry out spare time, the main business is still grazing, if they hire machines to work, the employment cost will exceed the income, so they will not do that.
Thank you Miriam, I feel so lucky to be seeing the real China through your eyes... without you I don't think any of us in the west would have! 💕
Thank you so much! China is such a diverse country, both in natural scenery and in people and culture! ❤
Hi Miriam, is your life affected at all by the government of China?

@@MiriamFollin That's interesting, thanks Miriam. Wishing you all well on whatever you are doing now and next. / Gena xx
Taking a little break from potty training my toddler, and this was the perfect little escape. So peaceful and cozy!

Thanks for sharing a beautiful video. I am a Chinese but I never went to Qinghai but hope to visit there some day.
It’s an amazing place to travel to, especially when you drive yourself!
i am going there in few days a little worry about the altitude
My husband ate grasses during the famine but that was a long time ago, thankfully.

Miriam could have told the guy chopping the oats that we can eat it as a porridge.
where in qinghai is that
😍😍😍
Hi Miriam, what's the background music from 12'28
It's Johan Glossner - Far Away From Home :)
@@MiriamFollin Thank you so much, so sweet reply.

Majority from Qinghai for sure. It’s not a touristy area, so mostly locals. Would not be surprised if I was the first foreigner.
Nice. A motorcycle is even better, but not so much for kids.
Yeah, a bit tricky with kids, and also in bad weather! But you can really go freely.
Maybe they do not have a machine because it is very expensive. Do you think machines are free?
Is the bgm your dad’s windpipe music?
Actually not - but it could very well ahve been! It reminds me of him too! This one is called Calling on the Hill by Moorland Songs.
Is this all filmed in the part of China which was Tibetan previously?
Qinghai

She said that they work 3000m altitude !!!...
