Exactly.. this whole trade in process is completely sham. It's just if you compare it with buying a complete new phone then you can say it saved you some money. But in all you paid extra ($1100 + $300) for the latest iphone.

@@yuvrajchouhan7325 i am pretty sure all will work,like the big ones such as AIRTEL,JIO,VI,aur koi bada network to nahi yaad muzhe,woh kyo work karenge kyoki in companies ka US ke networks ke saath tie up hota hain,to agar airtel ka AT&T ke saath hain toh US mein airtel users ko AT&T network provide karega by default

Even I suggested some new students to look up 1+1 iPhone deals with T-mobile. The only problem is that new students do not have an SSN and without SSN, i don't think any carrier will allow to buy iPhone on EMI/their plan. Students cannot wait till they get an SSN as to apply for SSN, one needs US number. So, if you know anyone in US (close relative/friend)..ask them to give their SSN and credit card and be as head of the family plan. if you do not have anyone willing to be that for you, wait till you receive SSN by using some carrier temporarily and port the number to desired carrier( one which you buy iPhone from).
@@R0H00 the offers in tmobile or any carrier ..you cannot pay upfront on them. One needs to take it on emi only ( you cannot get the offwr if you are qilling to pay full amount at once). One needs to be on one of their family plans ( x USD per month) and emi for phone( y USD per month). The total deduction monthly would be x+y. My comment was only related to monthly installments+ connection fee case.

Can confirm. I work at a T-Mobile by my university and we get tons of international students coming in with the same questions. They need an SSN to be able to participate in the iPhone deals, and even if they do have an SSN, they'll have to pay a very high down payment if they've had it for less than a couple years.

I agree with you, I have done an extensive research by going to T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon stores.
And T-Mobile is giving the best offer for a new connection+iPhone.

Yes supported on iPhone 14. So best way to buy iPhone is buying used or refurbished iPhone XR then using it for trade in with T Mobile

I actually went to T mobile. The issue is when i asked for a trade in, they said they will credit the trade in value in our bill and they credit the trade in value every month for 24 months
Ex: I have iPhone 11 and the trade in value for the phone is 250$
Now for regular 14, trade in value from T mobile is 800$
So when trading in my 11 they remove the 250$ from the 14’s price (800-250=550)
Now I have to pay the remaining 550$ and it gets added to our T mbile account.
Now suppose my family plan bill is 40$ and i have 550$ credited, T mobile splits the 550$ into 24months payment and deduct in the telephone bill. (550/24 =23$)
Final T mobile bill per month upto 24 months after paying 550$ is (40-23=17)
17$ per month upto 24 months after trading Iphone 11 and paying 550$
I dont get it. You are still paying for iphone and for the telephone plan. Only difference is in india you buy it separately and there you are paying through emi. How is the iphone "free" if u r still paying the amount but just through an emi?
