Though the car was parked when wrecked, it still amazes me that people drive around with bald tyres fitted on the rear. That explains the spinning cars on the highway, when it's raining... Remember; the tyres are the only connection between the car and the road! Don't skip changing them when they are at the limit. Skip the speaker upgrade instead.
I really thought about this, honestly. I’ve been thinking about selling my Ranger for one that’s a bit nicer (mine has typical rust-belt rot) for the swap. Nice first gen rangers can be had for like 2-3K out west and it might just be a future video…. 🫡
Another awesome video man! I just picked up another Mk4 myself, had a Mk1 diesel which is in my RUclips picture but this is my first Mk4 diesel, Bew love it so far 🤘🏻
@0:13 All bad things, too. Everything comes to an end in this sphere of reality. @1:49 The MK6 is IMHO the most beautiful modern Golf and the MK4 is the most beautiful overall.
I've had a few of those 2.0 TDIs and they're a lot of fun. The mileage fluctuates like crazy, which took a long time to get used to. My last one I sold to a friend who had been hounding me for it. 2009 Jetta Highline with the manual, tuned and Detroit rims on her. It was a blast to drive. I do miss that car!
@@JamesCooperider The love of TDI's! Just picked up another MK5 TDI Jetta for my daughter on Saturday. That's 5 in our family and my sister also has a mk6 Jetta TDI.
I saved the two front wheels off of the shell (just didn’t show it). That said, they were the exact same wheels that the car I saved had when I got it. I just put steels on it for a taller sidewall and cheaper tire size LOL.
I actually pulled the fronts after he picked the car up at the yard, but both rear wheels were ruined from the wreck. Plus I already have a set of those wheels that came on the first car
Although you can’t tell, two of the alloy wheels were obliterated in the wreck. I saved the front two (off camera) before the guy chucked the shell on the scrap pile. And yes - steel wheels FTW. Cheaper tire size, more sidewall. This is just a work car haha
I pulled the front wheels after the loader picked-up the shell at the scrap yard. Both rear wheels were ruined, though. The left rear was cracked almost completely around the barrel haha
This one was homemade by my grandpa back in the 70’s! I’m not really sure if such devices exist, (that aren’t homemade)… I’d imagine they do but I’ve never looked 🤔
@@JamesCooperider Nice! Yea, they do actually exist. But that hydraulic cylinder on the one your grandpa built looks beefy as heck! Great videos. Can’t wait to see an update on the ALH you pulled a while back. 👍
great video! love the style and editing your videos have
Heck yeah, thanks so much! 🍻
I just traded in my high milage 14 TDI with the original CP4. Just add some extra lubrication it’ll probably be fine

He lives!
You should really try putting a tdi in the ranger! Would be really cool.

Always killing it man.
I aint never been this early to a video in my life
Love this episode!
Really great video James! 🔥
I loved your video. I discovered your channel through your Golf TDI videos on TikTok.I'd love to see more videos on this car in the future

Broo! How do u not have more subscribers, your videos are gold
Hahaha I appreciate that more than I can say. Thank you! 🍻

You know what, that’s absolutely true. I agree 100%!
Mk6 and up only realistically feasible in non-emissions states…
In Lithuania it's like 800€ u can get it
I'm hoping the swap good into a mk1.
Old rangers have crazy wiring gremlins and have left me stranded multiple times.
Love the video!!
Thanks man!! 🍻

That is no joke about the mileage - I’ve gotten as good as 49 and as bad as 33 which is pretty wild. Fun cars for sure!
@@JamesCooperider haha, yeah when you're used to the ALH or BEWs, it's a shock. But much more comfortable at ticket risking speeds!
Amazing work! Great video!
cp4 just blew up on mine lol
My son bought the seats out of the Golf on Friday.
He said you followed me on RUclips! Haha heck yeah, that’s so awesome.

Very cool
good job james why didn't you take the wheel and tyre from the crushed car i think it was better than the stock wheels

Man I hate deer. I was driving one early Sunday morning in my MK6 and I hit a deer. I was going around 50. $4800 in damage but not as bad as your car.
It’s amazing how fast body work adds up. Sorry to hear about your car, I hope you’re able to get it sorted!
What brand tune did you go with?
buy a totaled mustang with the 4cyc turbo and swap the ranger!!!
Diesel's are so under rated
Was wondering why you didn't save the alloys from the shell you scrapped?
I actually pulled the fronts after he picked the car up at the yard, but both rear wheels were ruined from the wreck. Plus I already have a set of those wheels that came on the first car
@@JamesCooperider Got it... I destroyed two alloys on my '08 Rabbit hitting a Belgian block curb at speed☻
so you not only left the good rims on the scrap car, but you have the standard steel ones on your saved one?
Although you can’t tell, two of the alloy wheels were obliterated in the wreck. I saved the front two (off camera) before the guy chucked the shell on the scrap pile. And yes - steel wheels FTW. Cheaper tire size, more sidewall. This is just a work car haha
could have sold the wheels too
Only two of them. The rears were both damaged in the wreck but I did save the fronts 🤷🏻♂️
w video
damn i woulda bought those wheels

is it deleted?
All I’m saying is the DPF was damaged in the wreck.
Do you know the brand of your small frame puller? I could definitely use one of those!
