Complete waste. I'd have rather it been a prize and maintained for tour. All things considered the Japanese made one helluva beautiful and powerful ship.
On the AEC film I saw, the above water blast melted the blast side of some of the vessels and each deck was open to view, clear down to the water line! Then after, the below surface blast, the ships closest to the blast were gone! The 94 foot wave traveling however fast, was just too much force! Now they use torpedoes that explode under a ship and in doing so, the blast lifts the ship up out of the water, breaking it's keel. One torpedo, one ship!
Would have been far better to have saved the Sara and used one of the newer Essex class carriers like the Yorktown, etc. She had far more of a real history.
You need to do a bit more research and learn how to pronounce the ships name correctly because as far as i know there was never a ship named Prince Oinkgen, you also need to learn how to speak without the constant ers and ums. With my two gripes out of the way this was not a bad video and thank you for posting.
My father was here in 1946. Died of a massive tumor on his 63rd birthday...Atomic Veterans have never been properly recognized by the US government.
Yeah they just want to glaze over that kind of stuff. Sorry you lost him early
Or the people they kicked off the island to use their home to test bombs.
What a wonderful experience
All that history
JUST AMAZING you sir an your friends are truely blessed
Much appreciated my friend!
It's almost poetic that the Nagato lasted the war, only to be sunk the way it was.

Pissed me off that they did this, saratoga, and nagato had very rich history
Dylan Rivers every single ship has history.
Dylan Rivers Don’t forget the Prinz Eugen
Well if they hadn’t they would have been scrapped. This was a better end.

Not to mention pulluting the whole area for years to come. The native people of those islands got screwed!

It was the shells from the Yomoto that they used to bomb the Arazona with .
I wonder how much marine life perished in the blast?
Not enough that it couldn't repopulate obviously...
Bet it costs a helluva lot more money to do that dive now! Cool video though! Thank you!
