Welcome back to a week in my life as a 4th year medical student in the UK! This is the first vlog of the year and a new placement begins! This time im starting Obs and Gynae with a week of lectures and tutorials before we a let loose on the wards! It's a busy week so come along with me while i get into a new routine.

Who Am I?
I'm Lydia, a biology grad and ex-science teacher studying medicine in Southampton, UK. I'm originally from Poole in Dorset and currently live in Winchester with my partner Jack (we met at uni studying biology). I started this channel to give advice to those applying to medicine as a mature student/graduate and I've been vlogging my medical school journey (highs and lows) from my very first day of term back in the pandemic days of 2020. I'd say I'm a positive, sociable and busy person but I'm currently struggling with losing my dad to cancer in Oct 2023 so I'm now navigating grief while studying medicine.
you r dad would be proud of you what ever you did, maybe it was fate you running into his old freind today . looks like you are doing well in your 4th year.

Almost all dogs are emotional support dogs. Macy knew you needed some support. I think you'd like the books Maid and Class, both by Stephanie Land (read them in that order).

bless ya so much hard work to become an dr I'm sure in end your get there i hope one day to help teach medical students as one of there body donors as I'm thermally ill young man so decided to give consent to body donation in hope to help teach medical students Anatomy i wish all well in there studies and pray you carry on to become great dr take care
