Power, and torque…….. just enough to get it up to 2800rpm, no load. They even made a V 6. The 210 was about 185 hp, the V 6 was about 140 hp. Don’t forget, these engines had mechanical fuel systems, short strokes, they where better suited to marine, or running hydraulic drives, than variable speeds in automotive work. I worked on many of these engines in the 70’s. The 555 wasn’t an improvement. 265 ( second generation looked like a 903 ), and 903’s never really caught on. 855’s in-line 6, was where R & D money was going, and the KT. A lot of the small V 8’s where aimed at the medium duty repower market. Something that will fit in the engine bay, when the big gas pot mile’d out. One advantage over the 3208 Cat was the Cummins and Detroit engines had replaceable cylinder liners. They all got your load of gravel across town, put it that way.
Sounds really sick
Sounds like my mother's 1972 Ford LTD back in the day..
Hell yea she sounds pure evil!! haha love it!!
Do they use glow plugs
No, they’re direct injection so no glow plugs needed.
Is this a V8? What is the weight and power/torque?

Nope, they were bummers for sure. Gotta work with what you’ve got. Once I rebuilt it, it’s been running strong since.
This is just cummins version of the 3208 cat piece of s***
Totally agree. Garbage motor.
A really bad version...😆😆
Don"t leave it running indoors for too long stupid. Does"nt sound like diesel without the exhaust sysyem.
It wasn’t even running for 2 minutes he’s fine
