Hi Jimmy, the flat tool I have seen being used by Lucia Scalisi, on the Repair Shop (A UK Based Expert Craft Show). Lucia is an Art Conservator and she used it to warm up areas when making some fine repairs. An excellent review Jimmy, just what I was looking for as my good lady bought me one. I look forward to getting to grips with it. Keep on with the Aldi reviews as I am a sucker for the cheap centre aisle tools, using them to learn how to do stuff in the shed.

Definitely worth a tenner for someon who's interested in these things. As you said, a great starter kit.
I think the hot knife is or can be used for cutting foam, polystyrene etc, in modeling.

Used mine once. The fitting that was already in the end from manufacturing, used pliers to unscrew to change head, the thread broke leaving screw in the end. No way to get it out. Poor quality

I have got one of these - it stopped working after three days. Absolute garbage.
