Naughty tuna caught sneaking into the wrong water!

- YouFishTV has filmed tuna for over 18 years. In that time we have caught all the giant tunas of the world, in three oceans and 4 countries. Fish ranging 100-450kg! In Australia we have filmed large southern bluefin tuna (barrels) in 4 states and even out of Western Port Melbourne! But…
When the Wing boys caught this tiny little bluefin 16km inside Western Port it was one of the most miraculous captures ever filmed by them or anyone else. To film a bluefin this far up our local estuary is very significant, it literally marks the return/comeback of this once nearly extinct species as complete! In years to come we will see such captures as normal daily occurrences so we take this moment to acknowledge that such a future started on this day! Jan 17 2023.

Getting them all along Tassies north coast in the Bass Strait. Landed my first yesterday on the first trip targeting them. Pretty crazy can get them and jumbos off my home port of Devonport. Only been a thing the last couple of years

The tuna are so thick in the bass straight atm it’s not funny. I live on the north west coast of Tas and on a daily basis I can see tuna feeding not far off shore.
