WWE 2K Battlegrounds Review - The Final Verdict

- WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a massive step up for the franchise compared to the main franchise’s most recent entries. Though it’s offering a different experience in its more cartoonish, over-the-top style, it’s as fun as I’ve had in a WWE game in a long time.
Despite issues with the AI and some gameplay difficulties with more crowded game modes, I kept wanting to play Battlegrounds. Even with its intrusive microtransactions, this is the closest I’ve seen to a game fully capturing the essence of what makes the WWE special in a few years. It’s fluid, exaggerated, bug-free, and, most importantly, unbridled fun. It might not be the most impressive new game on the block, but it’s a great way to step into the ring once more.

Because it was the perfect mix of realistic wrestling manuvers and the cartoonish exaggeration of commentary like how roddy piper when doing a sleeper hold actually breaking someones neck. Either all stars or immortals captures that lightning in a bottle and its sad that no wrestling games have been able to do it since
Ign gave this game a 5. And I was like bro m I the only one who is enjoying the hell outta this game? But now I am happy that there are others out there like me.
Yeah the game Is really not that bad. Remember games have to grow from being young to being fully grown. Lets see what happens In the future.
@@zamasu9396 Its not that bad but it's not that good either. All-stars was a lot better and I was meh about that game back then. I don't think much is gonna improve with Battle Grounds.

Not gonna lie, I have been playing the hell out of this game. I really like it. My one critique is the move sets. There are not enough grapple moves. I can even over look the fact that all the moves are the same for each class except for sig and finisher, if they would have assigned 4 moves via right stick for everyone and 4 more via stick and should button. I think 8 grapples along with all the other strikes could have really boosted this game up more for me.
Just a bad launch.It will get better when you can get more special move with microtransactions later
Agreed. 4 on right stick and 4 more on left stick + X for basic grapples. Two taunts would be nice too. Tap down for one, hold down for the other.
Just can't get passed that art style... Not for me. Anyone remember Def Jam Fight for NY? Now that game was awesome

The create a wrestler has afew limitations.i think your being generous there.the n64 games had better caw options.

That's why I have PSNow. Its 9 bucks a month and I have this game for free as long as I'm subbed. Plenty of time to beat it, get the trophies, and ditch it

I’m half tempted to pick it up to play with my son but I don’t want to be part of the problem. 2K needs to overhaul what they do with these games and better still WWE needs to let someone else have a turn at making them.

This is an awesome game in my opinion 9/10 the only bad thing is customization and for me movesets don't get boring and the miz looks awful ( worth40 dollars )
I've watched and read several reviews of this game, and this one is, by far, the most kind. Too kind honestly. At times during this, I was wondering if this was a paid review.
They need to return to form, back to smackdown vs raw. I liked the arcade wwe game though so I’m hoping this is fun.
Bought it, played it, beat the campaign. Really tried to like the game. It feels unfinished, no grapple moves on the ground besides the poor submission move, no superplexes/corner grapples, just a lousy face pole slam, bugs everywhere, just frustrating on a higher difficulty (every move gets countered). It’s only fun with friends in a cage match but gets old fast due to limited match types.
I was lucky enough to get a new copy for Nintendo switch for $19.99 at best buy. Great pickup
I did as well yesterday. Sure the gameplay can start to get tiring but it’s going to be fun playing with friends locally

It is not worth full price with all the grinding you will have to do? I will wait for a sale or either game pass or PS plus gives out for free

This game was just slapped together so 2k would have something out this year.
This game doesn't look to good.
The character looks like crap cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants.

I pre-ordered this game for me and my friends and all I got was edge and the Digital comes with more stuff I don’t know how that makes sense and there are some glitches and bugs here and there but if you keep playing it nonstop your be tired of it but it’s fun
EVERYONE LISTEN you DO NOT have to buy battle bucks. I almost have the whole roster and I’ve been grinding. Yes the currency gets in the way of creations a bit. But that’s why you can grind to get battle bucks to unlock those things but I repeat the micro transactions aren’t necessary
If all the wrestlers were “unlocked” when you buy it...I’d buy it. I don’t like the pay more/pay to win type games. I liked All Stars so the art style is fine, NBA Jam in WWE if you will
Out of the 77 superstars I only need 20 more and it’s only been 4 days. I recommend this if you like the gameplay it’s as fun as advertised so very fun

Someone please comment and let me know if that’s worth it?? $10 knock off wont hurt me. Plus I think this game looks very appealing from a visual standpoint👀Underrated in my opinion and judged quickly.. It’s classic and honestly with all the moves there are it’s not to repetitive.. Gotta learn how to get creative

As terrible as the last 2K wrestling game was there should've been no microtransactions in this game at all! 2K has become one of the most greediest gaming companies in the world.
Glad to hear it is as funn as it looks. 2k aka take 2 is greedy so the microtransactions are no surprise. I abhor take 2.
My 6and4 years old sons and I had fun playing this game. Its worth getting on sale. Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. My son can win matches in this game and struggles to in all stars.

You can unlock everything in about 3 or 4 days in story mode and online..both give rewards
Finally a review that's actually positive about the game instead of unfairly bashing it.
Being critical about this game doesn't mean people are bashing it fool.

And it's not that good. The game comes off as way too basic. It has potential in some areas but all-stars was much better in comparison and that game came out so long ago. It's still a fun game but I was disappointed with a lot of stuff it had to offer

That circle under the wrestlers is obnoxious, the game is complete trash, wrestlers with the same fighting style have the exact move set they look like dwarfs and that fire fist crap reminds me Japanese games. Like i said before WWE ALL-STARS is way better than this. I may not be classy but i am calling this game garbage
