Fun fact: This is actually a grouper inviting the eel on a hunt. The eel chases the fish out of cracks and the grouper gets the catch, but if the fish runs into a dead end in the cracks the eel gets the catch. It’s a phenomenon not seen Often in The Animal kingdom. very few species rely or interact with another species in such a way to hunt. Very few cases recorded, approximately less than 20 are accounted for world wide. Dolphins and fisherman play this same game but I forget which continent, think Asia. Dolphins chase the fish to the fisherman’s nets and the fisherman feed the dolphins with some of the catch.
i read they actually hunt together, which makes sense, the eel is save from large predators and the grooper might get a piece of the prey the eel makes from catching small fish in holes.
I have personally seen that big groupers and Morey Eels hunt together and share the catch. The big grouper needs the Morey Eel to chase prey out of their hiding place in the rocks/reefs and will then grab them one by one, but does share the prey with his companion, pretty amazing those fellers!!!
Yes that's right! You can see this kind of behaviour a lot with stingrays and trevallys too! Actually it has even a name, it is called "nuclear hunting": ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=2V-CCRgW2lM
A lot of predators hover over hunting morays hoping the moray scares something up. Trevally do it all the time. Akin to badger/coyote team hunt. Not sure but perhaps the lurking grouper pauses a prey so moray can nab it. Probably it’s the grouper that usually benefits imho.
i think because you have to go to the end of the video to understand that in fact the grouper fish, is not interested in the Moray, but by what is certainly in the breach of the living stone where she was hidden ... At the end the Moray goes out the stone breach & the Grouper Fish continue to look at the breach in the stone so i think his lunch is under these stone .
its not bullshit man this is some crazy nature shit that really happens.google "eel grouper teamwork". i thought the fish was gonna eat his ass when i first saw this .....but they were communicating!..i dove with some groupers once off curacao.they are huge man, they swim up from the bottom and creep up on you .i was feeding some fish and stingrays and the groupers were about 10 ft below catching all the scraps.they didnt look that big till they got closer.it became an uneasy feelin for real when i saw the big eyes on those fish. then barracudas showed up like silver javelins with teeth shootin thru the water!!!..i got my ass back in the boat quick
@@terrellwilson251 i read they actually hunt together, which makes sense, the eel is save from large predators and the grooper might get a piece of the prey the eel makes from catching small fish in holes.
The only unknown and surprising behaviour i see here is that the grouper did not run away from divers and remained totally calm ! Very strange because Mediterranean groupers are fearful, when they see a diver, they just run and hide in their hole between rocks.

@@URZALA1 You knew EXACTLY what you meant to convey when you used the term "stalking". You wanted us to think the grouper was hunting the eel. It would get more clicks. Totally opposite of what is shown. CLICKBAIT.
@@detomaso_6235 Being french I thought the verb "stalking" would describe best this curious behaviour from the grouper; "stalking" has nothing to do with "hunting"; in this example, I'm not even sure what the grouper is doing; maybe you should chill out a little bit and disconnect from you tube ; nobody forced you to watch the video
Shoooot man, them there is boyfriend and girlfriend. And the group. Well she's the woman who wears the panties. Cuz the moray, well he just gives her a bit of a wrap around tingling zap sensation and off she goes with a big ole smile on her face. Lol.. oh wait a minute, I don't think the Moray can electrocute you.. oh well, he still does something to her. Something real exciting that we'll never know. We'll never know...

I have seen coyotes and hawks hunting in the same manner....
Ay
I'm from Asia (Indonesia)
I love how the eel gently pushed the grouper back
😂 The eel is annoyed. Like "Get away from me you big dummy. You're scaring away all the prey!"

Grouper: Hey, Morray do u wanna Marry me
Morry: We are not same specie...
Grouper: We can still marry:c
Morray: U still here, FUCK OFF!
Right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was before people realize that these two animal are hunting buddies
Groopers eat muray eels
Come on out, I'm hungry so let's hunt?
Little does the eel know that this grouper could open and close his mouth so quick that he would practically be eel spaghetti 😅
Eel: Go away! I don't love you anymore!!
Grouper: Please don't do this, I will make it up to you!
"Stalking" i think they where in love 💖
I was thinking an affair. Lots of kissing and Ms Moray buggered off when Mrs Grouper showed up. 😁

“Come on broooo get dressed! we gotta gooo hunting… & your friggin Milking it!!” -Grouper 🐟 “give me 5 more min G” -Eel 🐍
Its either the grouper wants to team up with the eel or the grouper has come into a conlcusion that it can swallow the eel whole.

Thats his land lord people! Hes been dodging for months!
Eel was so lucky, grouper wasn't on mode to eat an ocean spaghetti.🤣
Compared to The Grouper, the Moray is just breakfast. Yes, I think there is more going on here. That " static" on the audio. Is it " reef sounds"?
