Medical student who had a hard time recognizing FA. Your story gives me such a greater appreciation for the condition and your attitude is truly inspiring. Keep strong!
Coolwolf191 Woofie yes but they may not have known they had the genes that works lead to you having such a painful life. I too inherited a painful, genetic disorder from my parents but it’s not their fault and I don’t blame them. I’m assuming you’re still young so I understand it’s easy to be mad at the world and blame those that care for you the most... but we are all often given burdens we didn’t ask for and at the end of the day all we can do is try to find a little gratitude within the misery. I wish the best for you sweetheart. Take care.
Best friends son has this. Doctors told his mother that he was just lazy when she brought him to the doctor when he was about 6. She died when he was about 16 never knowing what he had. He got sick and went to the hospital. They discovered he had diabetes then he had heart problems and a doctor recognized the symptoms of Friedreich's Axtaxia. Was in a wheelchair by 18. His father abandoned him and I lost track of him and now I hear he is in some sort of facility. I believe he had a very bad case. It is a horrible disease and not many people have heard of it. The doctors don't seem to know much about it either. He was like 18 before he was diagnosed and he was born with it and had symptoms all his life. His mother knew something was wrong but doctors blew her off. That is why they call it praticing medicine.
