Mate, you need to start hosting "viewer races" or something in your new garage.!!! Run some sort of competition on your channel to pick 8 or 10 people to race... Or you could set a number of Top Gear type challenges, one with a crawler, one with a speed car, one with a monster truck, etc.. I'd seriously drive down from Scotland tomorrow to take part.!! Btw, the Banzai was my second new RC when I got back into the hobby a couple of years ago, I came back after about 17 years away... I fitted a cheap GoolRC brushless combo in it to see what all the fuss was about this new fangled brushless stuff... I was impressed, very impressed indeed.. 30mph was fast to me back in the day.. I GPS'd the Banzai at 57mph & that was that... I've now bought myself 24 RCs in around 2 years.! 😜! 😜!

Agree... and you can tune the suspension..which we know most of the time (in racing) is more important than have fast it goes! Not many in the price range that allow so much adjustability
It is a very fun drift car, I bought it 4 months ago. I had to upgrade it to brushless eventually, as the built-in ESC got hot fast - after 5 minutes of drifting it was boiling. With the brushless upgrade (cost me 100€) and some new tires it can do it all. Drifting, racing (50 mph) and I even go offroad (gravel) some times. It is a very versatile beast and there are also many suitable body shells for it available (my favorite is the BMW one).
Been looking at this for years and been on the fence never seen a decent review for it...until now. Great starting point for some cool fun mods.cheaply 😎
I got one as part of a package and put a 3S brushless motor and ESC in it. I have it to the wee boy next door as a birthday gift - an absolute flying machine. He loves it but I would definitely recommend a steel spur and pinion. Great review mate - keep up the great work.
I’ve just bought one of these purely on this video 🤭 and I’m pleased to say i love the banzai. I’m quickly becoming a fan of FTX and there just down the road from me .
You should definitely mod it… my hsp variant is all rwd now with a gyro, better steering angle & improved suspension but mostly stock… it’s a world apart from 4wd
Definitely be interested in this, just bought one and it's amazing, but nice to know it can pushed further before moving to more advanced expensive equipment. What could you do to this to improve it?
There ideal for running round a car park etc, just don't bother if you're thinking of going to a dedicated drift club as 4WD is not ideal (many clubs have banned 4WD) If you're serious on starting at a club you would be far better off finding a local one and coming over to see what its really about. (many clubs have loaner cars) If you really have to buy something before you turn up.. just go RWD! A yokomo yd2 or MST RMX 2.0 is a far better starting point. And for the record a gyro is not cheating, a full size drift car will "self steer" just watch any *in car* drifting video on here and notice how the wheel will turn itself without any input from the driver. a 1/10 scale drift car will not "self steer" as the holding power of the servo will just not allow it. Therefore you need a gyro to artificially create the self steer effect.
Looked at one of these many times last year but I ended up buying the Maverick strada dc instead.Comes with a locked rear diff as standard as well,I fit a cheap brushed hpi 15 turn motor in mine then changed almost everything to ali once I found out all the parts from the hsp flying fish fit it,then finally I fit a Skyline body with full lights from Killerbody, looks and drifts awesome now but i still like the look of the Banzai, might have to just get one now 😁
