please do a video on interactive brokers! that would help us Europeans out a lot! at first glance a little overwhelmed to get started correctly

Think or swim on mobile … rough. But usable. But ToS is still one of the best retail trading apps on desktop around. Great way to paper trade as well for those wanting to learn.

Thank you so much for this video! Completely new to trading and found all your tips super useful and easy to understand. A couple questions please. 1. Why didn’t you link the AT chart to yellow with the others as well? You kept it blue instead? 2. What does the subscription for level II do? 3. Can you trade stocks on the AT as many times as you want? The PDT rule is just for options correct?
1) since i trade options, i want the contract to load into active trader while i monitor the underlying's chart (i don't need to see the chart for the contract itself).
2) level ii data lets you see the order book depth - where limit orders of buyers and sellers are looking to buy and sell.
3) no, PDT applies to both options and shares unfortunately. the way around it is a cash account where you can do as many trades as the cash in your account allows you to.

I use Interactive brokers in AU, interested to see a "How to trade on that desktop platform", it's not very user friendly :(

In another video, can you explain the "infinite" loss? I'm fairly new to ToS and I don't understand that.
if you buy a call contract, you have theoretically infinite profit potential (since there is no ceiling to how high a stock price can go). so when you sell a call contract, there is in theory infinite losses - but since you already own the contract, your max loss is really just how much you paid for the contract... kind of confusing!

TD Ameritrade has a Singapore branch now. So we in South East Asia can have an account with TDA.
Thank you for the great info, but concerning the Realtime Data; Paper trading requires you to have $500 in your Live account to have access to Real Time data. It took me hours to find this out. After searching forums, FAQ's, and various other searches as well as scouring the website, I finally obtained the information from Tech support, after opening a ticket within the platform.
Have you done any futures trading on here or are you still using tradovate?
TOS is kind of pricey for futures so i don’t trade them on here. still have tradovate but i still suck at futures.

Can scripts from thinkorswim also work on interactive brokers?
nope
This was very helpful because thinkorswim can be very overwhelming smh, and I too left Robinhood because the way they do things is so unfair and they are greedy. I really hope they get shut down

depends on what strategy and instruments you want to trade, really.

I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this but when I went to activate the real time, it said it was $24.00 a month.
should be free as long as you have an account w/ real money in it (not just paper trading).

i believe you need $500 in the account and you get free data (no subscription needed). reach out to their support.

You make a lot of videos. When I talk to people about this stuff I will mention Peter Van Meter and Masitrades but I love to tell people about your channel. This was an especially helpful video. I won't have to call up ToS customer service. The price button in drawing was vexing me. I say Masitrades use it and searched everywhere. Properties could not be found anywhere on google but you showed where it is. Please don't underestimate the power of videos like this. I have been trading now for 90 days. I can daytrade. I know how to do that. I've never done an option. Now it looks like I will. Thanks for the great vid. I guess you know your last name was once Innkeeper. It got shortened for simplicity over time. I think when I mention your name people remember it.
