For some reason when I change it to real time it doesn't give me the option to "Apply Changes." I get the same thing when I try and change the AT Submission rate to Zero instead of 500, anyone know why? I'm going to call TD now to see if they can fix this for me.

@@DaytradeWarrior yeah man that 3 second delay got me earlier and caused me to miss an extra 1% on my profits. I lowered it to 1 second so my laptop doesnt crash haha

One of the most amazing things about TOS is the On Demand feature. It allows you to replay real market conditions in a simulated environment. You can practice reading charts, entries etc... any time of the day with no risk. Another feature I love is being able to set alerts on trendlines and not just on a static price. Thanks for the video, Ross!

Thank you Ross. Currently switching brokerages from Robinhood to TD for security and customer service reasons, and the multiple features are daunting to me as a new trader even though I’ve developed a working strategy. This helps me feel more confident about the transition.

Thanks for the TOS info. You got me working on my layout and I was wondering if you've every used the order template option. It's found next to the quantity buttons on top of the ladder in the Active Trader view. There's options for Offset and a few others. Let me know your thoughts!
I didn't end up using is much, I just used the active trader window.
I haven't executed a trade yet, but I will execute it on TOS when I do. So these TOS instructional videos are very helpful to me.
I had the LIVE trading already set, as well as the memory usage, but the Active Trader setting educated me. (I am tempted to say, "2 out of 3 ain't bad," but that isn't enough here.) Please post more TOS videos. Thank you & thumbs up!

Thanks Ross for another great video! Been using etrade but that execution ladder on TOS looks amazing and a great way to follow flow and execute with one click. It seems like it would be faster than even the Lightspeed setup you showed, did I see that correctly? You can config the execution ladder on TOS for one click execution as you follow the trading flow for quick entry and exit?
I have found that no broker has been as fast as Lightspeed, so i't still my favorite

If you log into your account through a browser and go to My Profile>General there is a setting for Direct Routing and it is set to Disabled by default. Would Enabling this give you the Direct Access Routing you get similar to Sterling?
Ross, do you have "Advanced Features" turned on or off? It is in the same settings page. Thanks
@Alex Meha you can do direct routing for stocks but you have to change it manually every time you trade but the "Advanced Features" have to be turned off. My question is if Ross has Advanced Features on or off because he is getting great fills consistently. I'm thinking that it may have something to do with this setting

Thank you, for the tips. I need some help though, I was using the setting to make the platform accept my trade instantly. I change the settings from 500 to 0 and it still it is not doing it instantly. the little box still pops up.

make sure the auto send box is ticked within active trader. As always, be careful as your orders will execute without confirmation box.

Hey Ross. I just found you by one of my employees. Thank you for all the content. I'm curious about TD Ameritrade vs Fidelity active trader. I'm currently using Fidelity but am open to better options. Looking to start in day trading. Right now trading cash. Almost have my trading account to pdt levels. Would TD be better?
We have found TD to be a better option then Fidelity.
setup one more important button,- REVERSE. Use it when for sure trade goes against you. Save a lot of hassle.

I did not know about the memory settings. That was VERY helpfull for scrolling through a watchlist. Before increasing the allocated memory, I couldn't get through more than two lines without my PC's video stalling and the fan would go into high speed trying to cool it off. Thanks!

OMG! Those were awesome tips! Thank you for sharing! I thought I WAS on REAL time...all this time! The other two tips were great too, especially about increasing the available cache for TOS . Many times while I was using it, TOS would crash and freeze up and I didn't know why. Thought it was my computer?

1. I saw you 1000 shares 3 times = 3000, then sold 1000 shares 2 times = 2000 (was the sell by market order?)
2. Then you sold the last 1000 fractionally, can we do that on TD by changing share size and executing from Active trader ?

I would love a video or even a series where you go through setup, configuration, and your first trade on platforms like tos and others, im sure there are plenty of beginners who are being rekt by all the bells and whistles. If I don't understand the feature I just ignore it, but thats counterproductive to mastering the platform. Maybe im sleeping on a feature or setting that could really help. 1) THANK YOU! I had no idea why I always felt like I was behind on trades. Turns out, it was because I was!
2) In your chat today, you showed how you can make advanced orders with your platform. FYI TD Ameritrade has that capability as well. (I am a Mac user so it might be different for a PC) I hit "command" and click and it opens up buy/sell choices that are not available on the ladder.
yep I've seen that, but I don't find it's as easy to use so idk, I don't use it.
