You know your coach has hit the elite level when your rivals are saying that though they love their schools and are loyal alumni and fans (Alabama, tOSU, etc) if they had kids with talent they would want them at Clemson under Dabo not just because of the quality of player he turns out, but the type of men he builds in the process. I could not be prouder of my school, my coach, my players, or my students!
If you asked parents across the nation who they'd want their kids or future kids playing for, I have no doubt that a majority would choose Clemson and Dabo above all other programs and coaches.

As a lifelong Alabama fan outside of Saban there is no doubt Dabo is the best coach in the country. He showed another blueprint to become a dynasty. Believe me without my Tide, Clemson is a dynasty. The same year Alabama and Clemson have the top 2 senior classes ever. Clemson would have 3 titles right now. Yes they match up to Georgia better than we do. Dabo recruits 14 players in 1 class. Yes there were 6 five stars but it;s different. Clemson doesn't grab 3 of the same players like Saban. He stays with a guy and develops them. They also get diamonds in the rough. Players with chips on their shoulder or high school team captains for leadership and IQ. It's their own way which proves you don't have to copy Saban. If Saban get's the best set of players then Dabo's gets the once in a generation type QB. Nobody spins the ball like Tua and Trevor. I met Clemson fans at the Glendale title game. Very respectful of our tradition and very passionate. Right now Bama has their best coach ever. Sorry Bear fans. Clemson has their best coach. I look at Venerables as a 2 man punch which shows more differences between the 2 college football ELITE programs. Alabama has the best Dynasty ever going. Clemson has a USC/Miami type dynasty right now. Today is a lot harder to win a title than 15 years ago. Clemson has a title and when you break records the same year with Senior class wins and you have at least ONE title then Clemson deserves a pass for dynasty status. I don't throw that word around. Imagine if they beat my beloved Alabama then you could say 2-1 Dabo in title games over Saban and 2 out 3 years for titles. This title game is Saban's best team vs Dabo's deepest team. This game will be a bloodbath. It's sad one has to lose. Roll Tide with respect to Clemson's fans.
Ted Unseth facts man, nothing but respect to Alabama for what they’ve been able to accomplish under Nick Saban! Go Tigers Much respect, thank you for being so humble and showing respect as well
Serious class in the comments, Bama was all out of sorts today. Very rare, but I know they will be back. Trevor Lawrence is just something else, I don't know what coach Saban is going to do to to beat this kid the next 2 seasons.

Ted Unseth awesome comment, from a lifelong Clemson fan. I have so much respect for Bama and Saban. They have been the standard in college football that everyone strives to be like and I think with Dabo as our coach, we’ve reached that standard. There should be nothing but respect for each program between fans if we truly love the game and want to see the two best teams every year battle it out for the championship. Much respect.

Let's bring it home again! This is what it's all about, This man is absolutely amazing. What he's built, nothing short of legendary. Bringing a mediocre ACC team that hardly ever won their division, let alone the ACC Championship (I believe our last had been 1991?), To a team that can compete with absolutely anyone in the country, and in the race for the Nation title year after year...I will always look back on these past years with swollen pride. #ALLIN #ALWAYS #TIGERNATION
Texas A&M Aggie here, and all I can say is that I respect the hell out of Dabo. Put up one helluva fight at Kyle Field in 2018. Can't wait for our next meet up.
I graduated with Dabo (UA, 1993), had some common friends with him, had many friends there from Clemson (including Danny Ford's daughter), and have several remaining ties with some of the coaches on the staff at Clemson (football and others). He's earned everything he's achieved, he runs a class program, and while he's cost the Tide a couple of titles, I can't help but root for him. However, it's our turn this year, Dabo. Roll Tide, Roll!!!
As a bama fan how can you not like the guy he loves his players and he loves Clemson it don’t even matter to me if he did play at bama, he is just a overall good guy and I wish him and Clemson the best of luck 1-7-19 it’s gonna be a good game. Roll tide
@ Big Willie, All of Clemson's best coaches had ties to Alabama. I don't think there's anyone who can replace Dabo, same goes for Saban! Can you imagine who would even want to be the man who follows the man in either of these programs?
I wouldn't exactly say he was a nobody! I remember my youngest brother being so pissed about Dabo being named Head Coach, and I told him to give it some time, I knew a lot about Dabo and his background so I was very confident in Terry Don Phillip's decision. ALL great coaches have to start somewhere, I'm very grateful they didn't go after a washed up has been, kinda like that other school in the state!!
Dabo is a much craftier, savvy coach than many give him credit for. All I'm hearing is 'Bama is gonna smash 'em, gonna crucify 'em". Well, the opera ain't over 'till the fat lady sings and she's not even warming up yet.
I had a friend who I cared for dearly all he could talk about was CLEMSON! He was from South Carolina. I was from Ohio I respect him he is a great Coach. Good Luck both teams.
I remember watching a 2010 auburn game and was hearing how he was on the hot seat but 2011 and Chad Morris really got the ball rolling for him and then from Parker to boyd to Bryant to Lawrence his offenses are fun to watch
"Who knew?" Any true Clemson fan knew during that final stretch of the season in '08 we had something special in Dabo...I remember thinking at the time..."this guy is gonna be like Danny Ford 2.0"
I remember sitting in the Clemson library as a student in 2008 watching the press conference when he was announced as the interim HC. Few of us knew who he was, despite going to every home game. Names like Tommy Tuberville flew around as potentials for head coach. Despite the loss to GT that week, I stayed in the stands and cheered until the end, knowing there was something special about this guy. Later on that year, we were camping out for tickets to the Clemson-South Carolina game and a guy walks up to us late at night and asks us if we want pizza. Confused, and being broke college students, we ask how much it is. "Free", he responds. A minute passes and we realize it was Cullen Harper, the QB. We look down the line of tents and see several players handing out pizza. Eventually, Dabo walks up to us and thanks us for our dedication. The only question we had was "is it pronounced "dab-bo" or "day-bo"? Fast forward to 2014, when the Tigers had just lost a close game on the road to FSU. Six of us waited in the west end zone at 4:30 in the morning to greet the team, and received a heartfelt "thank you" from Dabo and the team.
In the 2012 Bowl game, our LSU Tigers had the Clemson Tigers down & out, late 4th quarter : on 4th & 16, Tajh Boyd delivered a 1st down & put up a winning drive. From them on, this Clemson team has been building & now,, Congrats. Just to be fair, LSU & Clemson's 1st meeting was the 1958 Sugar Bowl/National Championship, & LSU won, so let's meet again yall, Congrats on nailing Nicky_Bama. 👍 #GeauxTigers
@ Rob M, Clemson and LSU have met twice for the Title, one game was 7-0 LSU, and the other was 10 -7 LSU. That Peach Bowl was one hell of a game! Boyd took a beating that night! But, you're right, that seemed to be the turning point in Clemson Football.
@TomTom Red My bad, the second time wasn't for a National Championship, but it was the Peach Bowl in 1996. LSU won 10-7. Also, the Sugar Bowl score was 7-0 LSU.
As a long time Alabama fan I would like to tip my hat to Dabo Swinney and say that that its hard to feel nothing but respect for him and what he has built at Clemson. I truly feel if it wasnt for Alabma being in the middle of their historic decade, that Dabo would already be on the CFB Head Coach Mount Rushmore .
As a Florida State fan I got to give it up to Dabo, he's one hell of a coach and I feel like an idiot for ever saying he'd forever be in Jimbo's shadow. Man was I wrong. It just goes to show what patience, hard work, faith, and commitment can do for you. Many blessings to Dabo Swinney, his family, and Clemson nation. Still hope we beat you this year... Go Noles!!
Deep down, I have to believe even Dabo would have never thought he could succeed at this level. It is just remarkable the difference between Clemson before Dabo, and after Dabo. I do not know how he has achieved at this level, but he may someday have a future teaching other coaches how to build a program. The 1981 Clemson Tigers were a dominant team...no doubt! The difference between 1981 and now, is Clemson is now a dominant program. That was not true in 1981. It is very rare for any College to have an elite program that has a decent chance of winning it all every year. Alabama has not lost their mojo by any means, they are as great as they ever have been. It is not due to a decline at Alabama that Clemson has went toe to toe with them. It is due to the fact that Clemson has joined them as far as being an elite program.
Dabo, former Alabama player and Alabama assistant coach. Dabo took the Alabama that’s in him, and built another (Alabama) team at Clemson. DABO = Built By Bama. So much respect for him! Roll Tide 🅰️🐘
I'm sure he learned a lot at Alabama, and the Tide certainly has had some great coaches and players, but Dabo keeps his coaching staff, in fact, I believe he hasn't changed anything in years. Saban almost has to start fresh every year, because he fires so many assistant coaches. One of the TV announcers said it during the championship game; "Alabama is a workplace, while Clemson is a family." I'm not insulting Alabama; hard to argue with success. Just pointing out the stark differences in their leadership styles, so I have to disagree that Clemson is another Alabama.
@@shannon1664 I've heard that Saban agrees with that assessment and he's looking to build a more stable staff that will stay intact for a longer period of time. That lack of turnover on the Clemson coaching staff is certainly a benefit.
He has but most outside of football don't get. Your team is a family and you go to war together on the field. Great coaches get this. Average coaches don't. EVERY great coach has had mentors they've learned from. Every coach grows and learns from previous coaches in the business. Only idiots don't get the learning process in coaching.
Clemson's not stupid. They went to Ford and now Dabo. Where did they learn to win Championships under great coaches. Yes, Alabama. Now they have an Alabama born and bred. Coach that knows what it takes to compete at the national championship level. Just ask yourself, who has won national championships with Clemson? Where were they coached and mentored at. Yes Alabama. Smart move on Clemson's part to go after coaches from the program that lives and breathes college football. People from even Clemson laughed at his style starting out as a head coach. He like Saban truly cares about their players life after football. Kids are not stupid. They get it. I've coached and people outside it don't get. When coaches and players want to go to war on the field together. Takes the team to a level most can't achieve.
I think one day Dabo Swinney will coach Alabama. He won't be the next one. The next will be some young coach who will bring them down for a few years. Then they hire Dabo to revive it yet again. That's my prediction.
Isn't it ironic that the only 2 coaches with legit chances of taking Saban down are both Bama raised guys. Growing up die hard Tide fans.. Kirby Smart & Dabo Swinney.. Imagine that
His name is listed as #1 to get the Alabama job when Saban retires. I can see him taking the Alabama job, but not right after Saban. Another coach will have to replace Saban, do mediocre or poorly, and get fired. Then he will take the Alabama job. He graduated from Alabama, he played and won a championship at Alabama, and he is from Alabama.
Ironically, Saban is responsible for Clemson becoming a national power because if they did not destroy them in the opener in 2008, they would not be who they are.
this is simple... great recruiting in a terrible conference. when you only have two competitive games a year and 11 scrimmages it's not hard... Bama on the other hand plays a really tough ending schedule with LSU, auburn, SEC championship game playoff team then NC.. not to mention couple of tough SEC games and a season opener with teams like USC Michigan Wisconsin although this year they had a cream puff with Duke ( awful). Clemson has SEC talent but has the luxury of ACC schedule a five loss rival game, a three four loss ACC championship game.. then their season starts... playoff game and NC if they make it. he's figured it out . in a really good place to do it..
Yacan Son of Israel yep and Purdue’s coach graduated from Louisville, but he stayed at Purdue. Dabo is staying at Clemson, why would he leave Clemson for the team that fired him and made him work Real estate? He has no loyalty towards bama after that. Also why would he leave his own dynasty that’s he’s building his own way, for another dynasty that’s already built? You bama fans really don’t think things through do you
Oh please.. put Clemson in a conference that actually has another team worth a crap and all this hype would stop...the ACC has been a dumpster fire since the late 90s- EARLY 2000s...isn't hard to win your conference every year when you have absolutely no competition is kind like Georgia have ZERO competition on their side of the SEC and alabamas only competition on their side is LSU(maybe)...most of these conferences are given hype for crap they did a decade or more ago even though they have been complete dumpster fires ever since
In the past 8 years Clemson has beaten Alabama, Georgia, Auburn twice, Oklahoma twice, Florida State 4 times, Ohio State, LSU, Notre Dame twice, they are in a bad conference but have beaten all the premiere teams in the power 5 conferences! They have gone 55-4 in the past 5 years... they are an elite team and have proven it over and over but you are either too biased or too ignorant to see it. Good day
@@HeyLookItsThatGuy13 #1 I dont even remember Clemson ever playing Georgia in the past 8 years...#2 outside of one year Florida state has been absolute trash since like 2004
@@HeyLookItsThatGuy13 and Auburn has only been good like 2 years in the past 2 decades Ohio state has been bit and miss for the past decade or more, and Oklahoma will always be pushed by the big 12 along with Texas regardless of who in the conference is actually better is why the BIG12 won't exist in another 5-10 years cause teams won't stay in a conference where they are going too be sacrificed too push two teams and no other teams are coming into the conference for the exact same reason
What do you losing by 28 points only scored in the first half and going for a fake field goal also those championships you talk about doesn't mean shit bama gas 6 in the cfp stop bragging about titles from the past and get over it Clemson won and Dabo not just a great Coach he's also a Great man an all do respect. I hope they rename memorial stadium something after dabo it’s only right
Dabo, former Alabama player and Alabama assistant coach.
Just seems like a good dude
I love Dabo so much
"there should be a smaller statue of TDP right behind him" Maybe. But there should be a statue of equal size to BV right next to him.
And one of Hunter Renfrow as well.
@ Wonderful Tiger, I totally agree with you! Brett Venables is the heartbeat of that program!! Definitely the best hire Dabo ever made!!
Dabo is always will be rhe most true, all in whole heartedly Coach in ncaa or any sport Tigerz Rule
I agree with dabo and I am a Gators fan they only Time I pull for them when they play Georgia or bama
The Clemson “Fighting Dabo’s”. This is Dabo’s university.
Very good video.
Id love to play or coach for dabo!
He has created not just a program but a family
He has but most outside of football don't get. Your team is a family and you go to war together on the field. Great coaches get this. Average coaches don't. EVERY great coach has had mentors they've learned from. Every coach grows and learns from previous coaches in the business. Only idiots don't get the learning process in coaching.
Thank God
Baseball coach turns athletic director. Hire dude that failed in greener pastures. Stands by his man. Life is good.
The greatest decision in Clemson football history
Clemson in the semi finals yess
"Little 'ole Clemson"
Is Clemson going to beat notre dame?
Laura m Rutledge wrong Notre dame are going to beat clet

Clemson's Greatest Rivalry of the Decade of the 2010's: Auburn 2011 The Revenge of Dabo Swinney after the 2010 loss to a Eventual National Champions
Not gonna lie, I’m crying
I think one day Dabo Swinney will coach Alabama. He won't be the next one. The next will be some young coach who will bring them down for a few years. Then they hire Dabo to revive it yet again. That's my prediction.
Terry Don Phillips thank you
Only coach that can compete with saban. I know hes tired of this dude good shit clemson!!!
Let’s go panthers. He started at my school (Pelham high school)
WEE TOO DEEP BYOG LOVE MY TIGER'S CAN'T WAIT TO MEET BAMA AGAIN..
Isn't it ironic that the only 2 coaches with legit chances of taking Saban down are both Bama raised guys. Growing up die hard Tide fans.. Kirby Smart & Dabo Swinney.. Imagine that
It is crazy but Dabo is a true success story going from unknown to college football coaching royalty
Naaaaa
#ALLIN
The Clemson es el mejor the best Norte DAme no se porque es cuarto en su conferencia no lo merece
How do u get a bunch of 5 star athletes to ur school
New he was gonna be head coach somewhere
waaay back then I was hoping he would go to Texas,,, still do,,, ehheheh
Ironically, Saban is responsible for Clemson becoming a national power because if they did not destroy them in the opener in 2008, they would not be who they are.
They put a lot of JESUS into everything and that’s number 1 truly
its because of me
different conference, different outcome
Just imagime if got the recruits Alabama gets

ACC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is simple... great recruiting in a terrible conference. when you only have two competitive games a year and 11 scrimmages it's not hard...
So poor Georgia right? Can't win a home game against a team who lost to App state and Tennessee. That " sec" grind is real.
It’s called the acc conference
Next Nick Saban
Go Norte dame
Go where?
Home!
Maybe nd needs to join the roid club like everyone else
Taboo Buckeye out West.
Cool story but, Roll Tide!

*BAMA'S FUTURE COACH AFTER SABAN*
I have been thinking the same thing back to the factory. #rolltide
I WISH
Yacan Son of Israel nope
@@willsharpe8844 lol. He went to Bama boy.
The Tide is in him
Yacan Son of Israel yep and Purdue’s coach graduated from Louisville, but he stayed at Purdue. Dabo is staying at Clemson, why would he leave Clemson for the team that fired him and made him work Real estate? He has no loyalty towards bama after that. Also why would he leave his own dynasty that’s he’s building his own way, for another dynasty that’s already built? You bama fans really don’t think things through do you
Is there anyone who doesn't like this guys?
Before he retires he will go back home and be the head ball coach at Alabama after The Goat Nick Saban retires
No he won't
LMAO!!
'Im coming back home to Alabama'
--Dabo Swinney.
20??
Only in your dreams. Sorry, Dabo is a nightmare for Bama fans, not a dream. Bama fired Dabo. He will retire from Clemson University.
Dabo ain't going nowhere!! He's a Rockstar right where he is!! But, you can still dream about it though!!

Oh please.. put Clemson in a conference that actually has another team worth a crap and all this hype would stop...the ACC has been a dumpster fire since the late 90s- EARLY 2000s...isn't hard to win your conference every year when you have absolutely no competition is kind like Georgia have ZERO competition on their side of the SEC and alabamas only competition on their side is LSU(maybe)...most of these conferences are given hype for crap they did a decade or more ago even though they have been complete dumpster fires ever since
In the past 8 years Clemson has beaten Alabama, Georgia, Auburn twice, Oklahoma twice, Florida State 4 times, Ohio State, LSU, Notre Dame twice, they are in a bad conference but have beaten all the premiere teams in the power 5 conferences!
@@richardgrace4500 Clemson beat Georgia when Tajh was QB and Sammy was receiver. They beat OSU in the bowl that year.
Richard Grace This Comment Didn’t Age Well...
U people are dumb Nick Saban is the best yes Dabo is a really good coach but he doesn’t have 17 Nattys he has two think about that
What do you losing by 28 points only scored in the first half and going for a fake field goal also those championships you talk about doesn't mean shit bama gas 6 in the cfp stop bragging about titles from the past and get over it Clemson won and Dabo not just a great Coach he's also a Great man an all do respect. From bama and Sabin and see you all next season Go Tigers.
Nick has only beat him once in title games head to head Dabo better.
Finally let his players use roids

A lot of drugs and money in those hills in rural north South Carolina. It will come out one day
Clemson will get embarrassed AGAIN this year just like they did last year when Bama man-handled them. Also Clemson is no where near royalty or dynasty...you have to actually win multiple championships to reach that status.
Looks like we just did blow out
CrimsonTide Who got embarrassed this year 👂?
You were saying?
