People are so ridiculous. Obviously the man was in many ways brutal and just calling it all deliberate exaggeration is turning a blind eye. However, what he accomplished was nothing short of amazing and he did live in a different time so judging him using today's moral standards is just as useless. I think it's ok to put up the statue for the things he achieved but saying he "had nothing to be ashamed of" is pretty harsh. After all he did kill and enslave people, and it wasn't just "kill or..."
