Sell the team
You will hesitate everytime rocky comes out of the bullpen. Rocky and the twins climbing north and almost reach the north pole but the south won't leave them alone. That's sad 😢😭
Did Doogie really say that Rocco shouldn't be blamed for Margot's ineptitude at pinch hitting?! He sent him up to the plate 30 effing times and expected different results. That is insanity.
In one of the last games he used him as a pinch runner for Julian you can’t tell me he is that much faster than Eddy. Why use his speed at that time when maybe later you would need him to run for a lot slower runner. Baldy over manages every aspect of the game let the players play. He has got to go!!
Leadership starts at the top, ownership is rotten and it's seeped into every part of the organization.
100% this. It's not Rocco. You'll get the same results when you have the same ownership. Sell the Team.
Doogie wants to protect Baldelli. That’s clear. I watched the Tigers win this week playing their hot players and seeing left handed batters get clutch hits off left handed pitchers. Pinch hitting 0-31 Margot THAT’S on Baldelli.
If the Pohlads want to save money they could fire Falvey and 50 of his analytics geniuses. That would be a good start.
I have an idea, the pohlad's sell the team. The team was bought for 44 million in 1984, the team is worth over 1.4 billion dollars today. That's a 1.356 billion dollar profit, isn't money all the pohlad's care about.
He kept putting margot out there. He would make pinch hits and then sub that guy out the next inning and have player shortages late in the game. He would try to stretch one inning relievers into two inning guys. He would take a dominate starter out for a reliever to face one lefty.. even though there would be good righties immediately after that one batter.
The entire organization should take blame but rocco is included in that.
Exactly and im tired of it, same thing every time its predictable and stupid. He hasn't improved
Baldelli is a terrible manager he has lost a dozen game with his management style alone.
If there are no significant changes beyond just getting rid of Fail-vey and bald-elli, there will be calls for an open BOYCOTT.
If the Twins start a sell off of players and start a rebuild, there will be calls to recoup the money from building target field.
Stop defending the polads and Rocco, everyone needs to go
Fire the manager and GM!
If the twins don't fire Rocco or falvey I'm going to boycott the entire 2025 season. There's no chance the twins go anywhere so what's the point
Rocco and Falvey didn't slash payroll by 30 million, my guy.
@@SaxaboomDKregardless they need to be fired we all know the polads suck , definitely need to sell the team
@@SaxaboomDK my guy, even though they slashed payroll this team was almost 20 games over .500 at one point and proceeded to become damn hear mathematically eliminated coming into the final series of the season. Thats not on the payroll slash, that’s Rocco losing his clubhouse by making decisions like pulling bailey Ober after 83 pitches and 1 hit allowed and like how he continued to pinch hit Manny Margot even though hes been the worst pinch hitter in MLB history statistically
@@kameronerdman5870 a team that cut resources faded down the stretch? crazy!
@SaxaboomDK - Way to play up your ignorance my guy.
Ownership of this team is an embarrassment. Sell them to someone who cares about winning and might just pick up a few good players at the trade deadline. Does it always work…No. But at least try to improve the squad when you’re in the running.
Ownership is incompetent and won't do anything but Falvey needs to go probably even more so than Rocco. Change needs to start at the top, but frankly I don't trust ownership to replace either of them with anyone better either.
The Pohlads might be worse than Glen Taylor at this point. Make a reasonable investment into this team or sell the team. I am so sick of the Pohlads. They’re going to run this team out of the state within the next decade if this continues
129 million dollar payroll is plenty! Its on rocco.
To make the playoffs all the Twins had to do down the stretch was play .500 baseball. Instead, since Sept 1 their record is as bad as the Chicago White Sox.
Rocco can't motivate? Then it's time to go.
What other manager puts his set up pitcher in the 7th inning, and the closer in the 8th inning and throws a weak pitcher in the ninth and gets beat. That's what Baldelli did a dozen times.
The Comcast thing really can't be overstated. Just giving the fans the middle finger. Can't complain when people don't show up.
And then the audacity for a 20 dollar up charge midseason. I didn't go to a game for the first time in 5 years.
The last place Colorado Rockies outdrew the Twins this week. Wonder how the Pohlad’s feel about that?
So bear with me here, but I want to refresh everyone's memories over the last few years. Jose Miranda is called up from the Saints, struggles for a month but then has a great rookie season. The following season he struggles(injury having something to do with it) and is with the Saints for a while, then is called back up this year and rakes. Royce Lewis, gets called up last year and immediately rakes, and starts raking this year but(with an injury in there) his performance goes downhill for the rest of the year. Brooks Lee comes up and starts hot, but then his performance falters. Matt Wallner comes up last year and rakes, but then he was with the Twins and played so poorly he got sent back down, then when he came back up this year he started raking again. Julien came in last year and played really well right away, but after spending a while with the Twins this year he was so bad he got sent back down.
Do you see a pattern here? So many highly regarded young players came up from the Saints and were ready to succeed almost immediately, but then regressed over time as they spent more time with the Twins' managerial staff. Is Toby Gardenhire the answer here? I know the name sparks a nostalgia we don't all want to relive, but it certainly looks like Toby has a lot of good young prospects ready to succeed right away, and Rocco and his staff are unable to develop them further or even help continue their success. Just saying, there's a large pattern here.
Indeed there is.
@Sean-ki6qi I agree with you. Rocco and his coaches lack the ability to develop and maintain young hitters initial success.
Coming off the books by getting rid of Kepler, Farmer, Santana, Thielbar, Vazquez, Margot would give you $50 million for free agency. Get some darn starting and relief pitchers and a real catcher.
Trade Julien, Kiriloff, Martin, there are much better options.
Castro is going to get a big raise this winter at arbitration so I’m sure he will be traded.
Vasquez is still under contract next year, Martin is a good bench piece but I agree with the rest.
@@benjames4502 Ben, yes but they could do a salary dump on Vazquez hopefully, like they did with Polanco. I’d also like to see them cut ties with Paddack.
@@Razorbacks1polanco had value, he could still hit and play multiple positions. Vasquez is nothing more than an overpaid back up catcher now, the Twins will have to attach prospects in a trade to get rid of him. Paddick is the same issue, he's a bullpen arms now. I agree with you, to get rid of them is going to hurt the minor league farm system.
I’d keep Martin just for his speed and I think he might learn how to hit ML pitching. Unless some team really wants him as part of a deal and you get something of value. Plus he can play multiple positions.
The Twins should use Paddack strictly as a relief pitcher. He could be valuable in that role.
What is Doogie's value to Skor North again? He neither shares exclusive "reports" or "scoops" nor provides neutral, objective analysis. He's like a state media guess specialist whose primary purpose is to convince viewers he has more value than he does by making up for substance with bluster ("I'm just telling you", "I'm just telling you", I'm just telling you", etc.....)
You guys are vastly overvaluing/overestimating Rocco's leverage here. Dude lost complete control of the ballclub - sat and watched as a small stovetop fire grew and grew into a giant fireball consuming the entire kitchen, all with his mouth agape.
Sell the team. The owners are unserious but we can’t fire them. However, I have not been a fan of Rocco for several years now. He should also be fired because he made some stupid decisions this year.
Even last year in the playoffs. Having Max Kepler after Royce Lewis in the lineup was stupid. Carlos Correa should have been batting 4th not 5th to properly protect the way Lewis was hitting last year.
Bottom line, I would fire everyone in the front office and all the coaches. Give all the raw talent we have a fresh start.
I’m just tellin you
Corey is fantastic. I love listening to him. Was sad when Dick retired, but Corey is fresh and funny. He's been the shining star of this season.
Invest in money for the roster. That twins choke..go cheap and get what you paid for
Long-time Twins fan, but this accumulative heaping pile of garbage strategy they call the 'Twins way' is getting old. I'll probably experience the team next year vicariously through SKOR North. Why waste one's time watching these jokers.
The 'Twins way' usually refers to the pre-Rocco/Falvey era where guys like Ron Gardenhire and Tom Kelly did their best to manage teams with limited resources that were defensively sound, ran the bases well, and stressed the importance of situational hitting. Those teams were far from perfect and some of them were downright awful in their own regard, but current leadership could maybe stand to learn a thing or two from that era of the organization.
I agree. I checked out on May 1st when Comcast dropped Bally's, and found out how little I needed to see the Twins games. I have found many other things to do, and those things aren't such a waste of time, like watching the Twins. Break away, you won't regret it.
Carlos Correa quit, he's not the star the Twins thought they signed.
It’s not surprising to me that a guy who cheated his way to a ring is not the guy you thought he was.
I’d put
1. ownership
2. Players
3. Rocco
4. Falvey
In terms of blame
I kinda disagree with the order, to me its:
1)Ownership
2) Falvey and Levine
3) Rocco
4) Players
This past off-season, we knew the team had some holes, yet the team practically did nothing to upgrade the roster. They let Gray & Maeda go and traded Polanco to save some more money. The Twins rushed a bunch of young players to develop quickly in hopes to they repeat last years success and not all of them were up to the task.
Meanwhile, Indians, Royal, and Tigers were all active in Free agency. Maybe not with big splashes, but definitely ways to upgrade their rosters.
@@jasonkorf7700 for sure we could have went and got a few more veteran arms or pieces. However, the game isn’t won unless the players perform so they will NEVER go last IMO. The front office has routinely refused to increase payroll and didn’t leave much for falvey to work with. Sure Rocco has made some bone head decisions, but is that coming directly from him or higher up? I firmly believe they are a big analytic based team especially with all the pinch hitting. We were one of the hotter teams in baseball at one point this year, then we collapsed. So clearly in the wins Rocco was looking great and so was a lot of the things falvey did. Falvey also helped us get to now having the number 2 farm system in the league. We had a bunch of first, second or third year guys fall short of expectations. I think a lot of it would have been cleared up for falvey to make better calls with more money. Sure he should have and could have made some trades to acquire talent. A lot of this team came back but again injuries were riddled throughout the roster at times we could have used those guys healthy
@@henzy12-k6yyou can't expect untested rookies to play like veterans, this team was set up for failure.
@@benjames4502 not necessarily. Tigers and royals made a few more moves but largely untreated and unproven too
Sure glad they blew 200 million on correa
The apathy surrounding this team reminds me of the discontent of the late 70's under the ownership of Calvin Griffith. There is no winning culture in the Twins clubhouse anymore. Perhaps they need to go the way of the Minnesota North Stars. Life is disappointing enough for Minnesota sports fans.
Minnesota got a team and owners in the wild to replace the stars, the same would happen with the twins.
Bring back Paul Molitor
I love a good Judd rant
Sell the effing team.
Nelson Cruz or Trevor Plouffe as next Twins skipper !
Plouffe doesn’t seem interested
Firing Baldelli because ownership sucks isn’t fixing the problem
I truly hope the Pohlads see this. I have been a Twins fan since 1991 when I went on a 6th grade class trip to the Metrodome. Twins won in extra innings Randy Bush had the game winning hit. I followed them through all the bad years. This season has been different, a third collapse in 4 years. Their top stars cannot stay healthy. Going forward with three rookie starters in a playoff push that cannot go 5 innings. It is time for Falvey, Levine, and Rocco to go and the Pohlads need to commit to winning. I do not know if payroll is the issue teams win spending less, but this is not working.
IT'S. THE. OWNERSHIP. ...explains ineptitude for decades.
Starts with ownership. They suck. Just in it for another Buck. Rocco is not a good manager. Falvey sucks also , but is taking marching orders from Pohlads. Need new owners etc... Need a Gaieti on this team to kick someones azz!!
Rocco needs to go. He makes on horrible decision after another
The Twins collapse is unbelievable when you consider 2 months ago they were sitting pretty good.
I got one name for ya: Terry Francona.
Rocko had his chance, time to move on.
If the Twins don't get some pitching help for next season, then the fans need to camp out in front of the Pohlads office .😮
Good show guys 👍
Rocco has never seen a contact play he didn't like. How many times did it cost them a run or runs. He is a stupid manager, doesn't trust his gut. The GM need to go. Won't make a trade to acquire talent. The Pholads need to sell to someone that cares.
I do believe this team is better than how they performed. Like Judd said, after ownership and management didn't go get anyone at the deadline, the players just said, "f this" and half assed the rest of the season. I'd be the same way in my job. You get no support from management. I'd be in "f this" mode too. That falls on ownership, management and coaching staff. I put less blame on the players personally.
I like the bit about Falvey game day.
Falvey has done good things but the W/L results don’t justify him making game day decisions.
He needs to let the manager manage
I would bet from ownerships perspective, this season was a smashing success. Payroll was cut and no risky moves in season kept the profits intact. Maybe Rocco gets fired but he’s a cog, he isn’t the root of the problem.
Get rid of the constant contact play anytime a runner is at 3rd base. This is not little league. Also stop using a left handed reliever with an era north of 5 like he's your lefty specialist. Stop pinch hitting for guys in the 3rd inning of a game only for you to wish the other guy was still in come the 8th or 9th and finally learn how to get a guy over to 3rd base.
This whole narrative that well everyone is to blame so you can’t hold anyone or just one person responsible is the most frustrating thing ever second only to the thought even if you make changes your not going to do better than what you have so why bother. Something has to change.
They need a season or two of Tom Kelly management, or someone similar. Maybe Dougie Baseball? Get back to fundamentals
This show had some heated takes on losing to the Marlins ownership and lack of fan support I bet com next Monday or Tuesday we’ll know a lot more
Good show today guys! Needed some therapy after such a letdown
CLEAN HOUSE. Keep only Royce, Miranda, Lee, and Pablo.
Rocco should be fired and Joel should sell to ownership that wants to win not just want attendance
Wolves HR navigating the A-Rod and PDiddy investigation..... not good
Should be zero question Rocco is gone. As much as it’s not only his fault, part of the managers job is to “manage a team heading the wrong direction,” part of his job description is to handle the disgruntled mess in the locker room. He failed fully he has to go
If its up to doogie we’re running it back to protect his relationships
KAT trade emergency stream RIGHT NOW !!!!!
What a despicable bunch this twins team and organization in recent years.
"I just haven't heard" = they stopped talking to you.
The Twins have at least 2 players that are made of low grade paper mache.
The state of this franchise makes me glad to not really be a big baseball guy.
Rocco has to go. The payroll was still big enough to win. Thats a weak argument
According to Spotrac, the Tiger's total adjusted payroll for 2024 was $98.2 Million (a big cut from last year). Cleveland was $106.8M. KC was $120.4 M (they made a splash in free agency this year). Twins were $130.7M, and get this, the White Sox were $133.8M! That's a over a million dollars per loss!
@@mickpeterson641 spit the facts bro!
Bigger question who wants this job with this ownership?
Mark Cuban buy this team and hire Joe Madden has manager
Over/under on how many times Darren says “I’m just telling you”
25 minutes I'll put the O/U on 4.5? Probably take the over
14 minutes in, and he has said it 5 times.....
And that doesn’t count the countless times he says “im telling you”
@@rileysteffensen7270 he needs to go to chatgpt and find other ways to say that.
Only the fans can fire the problem.
Worst bullpen In twins history.
Doogie missed the Kat trade LOL
Rocco doesn't know how to win
Batting coach stinks
They all should go
Doogs !!!.....White Sox = dumpster fire ?? How about the Twins ?
What do you call a team with 121 losses, the most ever in 162 season?
The owners shot their own foot! No one else is at fault, the team has no backing from the Pohlads , it’s the last organization that players want to play for, the decision making is poor, all is dieting fast. It doesn’t make sense this team can develope players but we’re poor at making trades all because the owners are indecisive over spending and GMs can only make last second choices on a late ok. We suffer with some nice pitchers but fill out the remaining with pitchers just over the minor league player cost. If the owners had people to tell them how to make a dollar from baseball all would be good. Fan base sucks as I’ve been a fan 50 yrs but we don’t have many other fans supporting the team especially young fans. Learn from the Vikings and T Wolves before this team is an Oakland.
Let the Twins leave like the north stars, Minnesota got a new team in the wild and ownership who wants to win.
Just watched Detroit clinch a playoff birth. Kinda fun watching another team.succeed since our ownership doesnt care if the twins make it. So pohlads thank you for making me a fan of other teams!!!
The screwed up part, the tigers traded Jack flagherty.
@@benjames4502 The Twins did the same thing in 2017. Paul Molitor never had the backing of Falvey. He also didn't have the payroll like the Twins have had in last few years.
Fire dougie
The Twins are not the 2nd best minor league system. That’s BS. Not one single farm team made it to their playoffs. Plus if you eliminate Lee, Festa, Matthews from the minor league prospects the Twins are 10th by most revised lists. The Tigers and Guardians were 1 and 2.
Tampa Bay is a AAAA team and they beat up on the Twins this year, were in the running for a wild card spot for awhile after massive trades.
Love the irony of Judd wearing a Park Tavern cap. The scene of the Trevor Richards crime. (you had to be there)
Non athlete doogie commenting on a players injury. Hilarious.
As a Cleveland Guardian fan, I recommend you panic as much as possible, go ahead and fire your Manager, your GM, your travelling secretary, clean out the dugout all of them will find employment very quickly elsewhere.
I get it you are upset that you did not make the playoffs and how you missed the playoffs, so go ahead and clean house, Guards already got Detroit and KC to worry about, it would be nice if you guys took a couple of years off like the Whitesox.
Thank you for a hard fought season Twins, up until a couple of weeks ago, everyone was talking about you taking the division and now your fans and media want everyone punished and gone....
its christmas
Go Guardians
