    Hi guys, today I present on this channel a really complex but very spectacular object: a DIY coin counter that counts all the euro coins.
    The project is very complex and complicated, I used arduino nano for counting the single coins and I used infrared sensors to detect each single coin.

  • @yedead1

    You could keep track of how many coins are in each stack instead of the total. You could also add load cells to keep track of each stack weight then when a user removes coins from the stack (as long as it knows the avg weight of each single coin, could easily be done with constants in the arduino program) then it could automatically update how many are left/total amount.

    • @-_IT_-

      Doing it by weight would not work considering that coins pick up grime which can alter the weight. It just would not be accurate.

    • @russelljazzbeck
      @russelljazzbeck 2 года назад +1

      @@-_IT_-there should be a minimum weight, like if it's heavier than a pristine coin from the previous value, then it accounts for all the added grime. either way, it's totally possible to have a range, or even make predictions with formulas that account for variations in weight, especially since those variations are extremely small

    • @yedead1
      @yedead1 2 года назад

      @@-_IT_- That's why you take the average weight, doesn't need to the exact weight just a ball park number (something like +/- 10-15%). Also its not like the load cells will have exact result, there will be differences between each cell.

    Most coin sorting machines use a tear system with typicallt 1-5 cent category, 10-50cent category then €1 and 2 category.
    This way the sorting can be split 3 ways two times.
    The first sorting is typicallt with magnetic indukction, (simply by roaling past a magnet) second by width.

      Behold, I'm not impressed by this link.

    • @elye3701

      @@kevinsellsit5584 I have used a kiosk coin machine at a Japanese supermarket. Just load in the coins. Collect the rejects and hand the receipt to customer service in exchange for a voucher. This adds too much bling. I bet there is no service manual to troubleshoot this in case of problems. What do you do in case the lights go out? 8 is just twice 4. There is nothing to limit you if you carve one yourself out of a piece of plank. What would impress me is a computer program that would, given a set of coins, control a milling machine to carve a suitable sorter. If you give me the machine above, I wouldn't take it. In fact you would have to pay me to take it. We have 5,10,20 and 50 denominations of coins. 1 is obsolete but you can still find them in the coin donation boxes. Then the central bank released a new set. So we have 9 denominations in total. Added to this you can find 10cents Singaporean, 100Baht and various Rupee coins with an occasional UK coin. In reality those of us helping to count the church collection face up to 16 sizes of coins. I don't think that machine above can handle this real world sample. An in-between size would enter the next bigger slot and get counted wrongly. Not even close and and no cigar. You have a low bar. I am not impressed.

    Un lavoraccio per un risultato da capogiro. Immagino le notti insonni a progettare, la ricerca dei materiali, la previsione del risultato. Se non fosse così.....verrei a scassarti tutte le macchine per la gigantesca invidia che mi susciteresti fino a soffocarmi. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Comunque sia, un bell'oggetto....i miei complimenti (mannaggia) 😂😂😂

      Ti ringrazio, ma ci penso già io a scassare le macchine quando non lavorano come si deve 😂comunque un' aiuto mi farebbe comodo

    I hate to say this...because it's a beautiful piece....but I believe you have the coins falling in the wrong position. The smaller coins are at the far left, but they fall down the bottom most slide. Whereas the larger coins fall down the upper most slide. Why this makes a difference is that the smaller coins get lost behind 3 sets of blocking slides...in other words, it's difficult to see the smaller, faster moving coins when they are behind all the other slides. The larger coins would be easy to see, and follow, because you'd be able to see them behind all those other slides. The smaller coins, not so much.

    11:20 classic example of how to make things complicated. BTW love your video.

    Now you need a way to remove 1 roll worth of each coin. Maybe each collector compartment could have a boot sized for a roll worth of coins you could use to transfer the coins to paper rolls.

    Why the whoopdydoo when it looks like they're immediately sorted by size at the top?

    Why does the display use both "=" and ":"?
    IMO it'd look better if it consistently used a colon.
    E.g.
    Euros: 0.00
    Count: 0

    Происходит разделение монет в зависимости от их диаметра.
    Вначале не понял, показалось что стоят датчики с толкателями.
    Электронный блок считает количество монет по позициям.

      la passione, nel' essere umano è il motore di qualsiasi cosa 😂 comunque alla fine mi sono tolto una gambe e mi sono preso a calci nel sedere per aver ideato questa cosa...la volevo chiamare la machina delle madonne.
