Be nice to me lmao I'm still getting back in the groove of producing long science videos, I've been on TikTok this whole time making short science videos. I hope you enjoy it! Expect to see me more often and more regularly from this point forward!
I believe there is only ONE GOD and that HE CREATED EVERYTHING----HUMANS, ANIMALS, PLANTS, SUN, MOON, etc.! I'm of the opinion that our CREATOR JESUS CHRIST made everything in the way He saw fit! No offense, intended, dear Raven, I'm just talking about how I believe!!!
I have read that melanin conducts electricity very well, and that after Sunlight is absorb by the melanin in the skin a biochemical process takes place that creates vitamin d and metabolic energy under the skin. Very cool stuff.
I truly hope, @jahbless4ever, you know that in the flesh of ALL human beings resides the SIN NATURE which we ALL inherited from Adam when he transgressed against GOD in the Garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil! We were ALL seminally present in Adam's loins, and when he fell, we ALL fell! There is nothing redeemable about humanity's skin! We ALL need to be born again, and will be, when we repent and believe the Gospel (Good News) of the Grace of God!
Writing about The science of melanin for a research paper, this video is a very good start , appreciate your knowledge and willing to educate us all sis 🙌🏾🙌🏾🤎💪🏾💯
This is a great explanation on this subject! Thanks so much Raven for this video and so looking forward to the next one. Signed - a scientist that has studied melanoma and melanin for nearly a decade :)
My favorite kind of science video! Thought I knew something about the subject and I was schooled! learned a ton! Explains clearly with no dumbing down or over simplifying, and also explains some of the complexities that are yet to be understood and are promising for future research. Great work!
Ok, parkinson's is cool, noted... ;) Seriously, good content,I loved the video, learned a few new things, but the background music didn't agree with my ADD, or maybe I'm just too damn old for the format :) Looking forward to the next one!
That is really cool Raven! I know my melanin levels can vary wildly with different sun exposure. Are processes besides exposure to UV rays on the skin that stimulate melanin production?
Niiiice, I was thinking about squid/octopus ink the other day wondering what it actually was, feels like it was a dream thought ha Incredible that it's melanin ✨️
So basically the melanin is in house converters per the biochemical processes… not to mention it’s ability to change the frequencies of certain cells for repair and/or manipulation per the cells intelligence as to what the body needs. Also can act as a safe house or a cover for dna protection. Which if open could act as an open port on a router and allow various cancers to set up shop.? I could be completely wrong, I’m just studying before the test.
I know (well think I know) that melanin is what makes freckles? How does that happen and is that all the same type of melanin? I have dark hair and large dark freckles, but I have a friend who has bright ginger hair and her freckles are smaller but much more orange than mine. I’ve always wondered why I had them, and so many of them while my blond sister just had the cute sun kissed type across her nose in summer (I grew up on the Middle East and people would follow me, touch my skin, and ask me if I was sick) Will you cover that in your next video?
I have been taking vitamin D lately because of the effect that it MAY have on covid. But part of me is trepidatious about taking it. What are the effects of vitamin D on melanin? Can you do a video about it?
I need to know what controles the production of melanin or what regulates it. I know it is not something with age. And by the way I love the human colors. We look vibrant.
Our genes code for our skin color, but our level of melanin can vary in different ways. Like tanning, for example, many of us in the USA are darker in the summer and lighter in the winter
@@RaventheScienceMaven I was thinking you were gonna get into things like DNA repair by melanine; how it also enables frequency and vibration and interaction with the environment, electromagnetic capabilities of melanine, etc I've superficially heard about these areas and I thought you were going to touch on them. Apparently melanine can be extracted as it has those capabilities and potentially this would be dangerous for melanated people
@@RaventheScienceMaven seriously I learned a lot from your presentation. thank you. I didn’t know so many life forms had melanin and how important it is to life in general.
Even in your eyes, it’s found there too. It’s associated with intelligence too fast knee-jerk reaction. All that has to do with melanin rhythm has to do with melanin when a baby is born, they protected with melon too
Hey good for you let’s get it. Let’s hear it lol first of all on another note let me teach you something. I am a scholar. It’s not the sun. It’s the light from the sun wrong that’s not the sun up in the sky. That’s the light from the sun.
The combination of music with constant & loud low-frequency and the editing out of pauses between words is making me feel sick! I usually watch things on 2.0x, but even on 1.0x I can't stomach it :( Which is a shame as I want to learn the content here.

If melanin aids immunity in invertebrates, do you think it has any effect of human immune systems? @raventhesciencemaven

The Sun is my friend.
There's nothing like a good sunbath. I always feel amazing after it.
@RaventheScienceMaven can you explain why certain illnesses like lupus cause adverse responses to the sun. How does our melanin effect that

What is melanin made of?
carbon
Melanin is made up of atoms! It's a biomolecule of mostly carbon atoms. Fun fact, it's a byproduct of dopamine.
Appreciated this video. As a white dude I've never heard this info. At least that's my excuse. lol
We all have things to learn! Props to you for staying educated!!
Good Job
Any thing on melanin and nanoscience
What about those ones who bleach their skin … do they still have melanin
You can’t escape melanin
It destroys the melanin and damages the skin. Bleaching is really harmful to your insides.
Thanks for the insight. ❤
Thank you for listening!

Awesome
The darker the smarter.

You didn't speak about the chemical part like it's connection to carbon and electrons, protons and neutrons
