    Serious comment, knowing you often have a long extension lead on board, when finding an ICE car taking up a charging point, could you have parked near enough to plug in? Your practical demonstration of the Bluetti was of course integral to the video. It was a great demonstration and has certainly drawn my attention the the brand and the potential of their products. Now all you need is a portable small air conditioner that will run from the Bluetti whilst you are driving in Mediterranean sunshine.

    Mr. Boo makes a very good Tarzan. All that range anxiety! Perhaps tootling through that small town, surprising the locals, was fun but not such a good idea. Better to have parked and taken the elevator. The Bluetti did its job very well, though.

  • @jackoneil3933
    @jackoneil3933 2 года назад +2

    Well done and entertaining day out and an entertaining exercise in range anxiety with Bluetti saving the day. I guess a take-away might be that charging from it before setting out (and running out) is better than charging on a mountain hairpin after running out.
    Running some quick numbers, it looks like the AMI should burn about 75W/km. so 300watts of solar should be good for about 4 km/hr. I see
    'Antonio Cruz' in the comments mentioned he saw a rigid 300 watt panel attached to an Ami, and I'd like to see how they did it. Looking at flexible solar panels, It looks like one 300w or a couple of 200w flexable high-output solar panels might just about fit on Elton's roof

    • @MeandMonAmi
      @MeandMonAmi  2 года назад

    We regularly get home with 3 or 4 km of range left (either a Jaguar IPace, BMW i3 or Renault Twizy). Every EV is different though. I would suggest running it down to literally zero power, which may mean going beyond zero percent. Watch Teslabjorn’s recent videos - he tests each car and uses a power pack to get enough charge to get to a nearby charger. Will give you more confidence, as you will know whether it just turns off at a specific range.

This could help block some of the suns heat out but also would slowly recharge the bluetti even while parked or driving along. It would take a lot longer to charge but if its always fixed there then might just he able to keep the bluetti topped up all the time.

    Great entertainment. Now, I just saw being used by the airport here in Lisbon an Ami with rigid solar panels on it. It probably fits 300W of panels giving it a lot of extra range, I cannot be sure but maybe up to 40km, plus providing shade for the car. Something to think about. It might avoid getting home in turtle mode.

    Couldn't you just ask someone if you can use their power for a few Euro's? Like at a corner store or something. I wonder if you could just permanently hook up solar panels to the top to always trickle charge it when just running into a shop or something?
    Great video's! Great cliffhanger! I was waiting for this video, phew!

    • @MeandMonAmi
