- With much of New York City affixed to what was happening on the runways and surrounding streets, Virgil Abloh and Nike made their way to Wall Street to present their 10-part collaborative sneaker collection, proving to be much more than your traditional launch party. Dubbed “Off Campus,” the designer and sportswear giant created an experimental space that motivated, educated and allowed participants to become part of the conversation they so faithfully feed into.

From a artistic stand point this collection is dope I just think the biggest reason people hate on it cause its Virgil name attach to it.

His shoes looks like a kid customized their own shoe and they sort of didn’t know what they were doing but it was their favorite shoe so they kept it. A lot of punk rock attitude in his collaborations, different color laces, neon colors. I wish there was more into his creative process

The designs is simple but coming up with the idea and making it happen is really hard
3 things..... money to back it up, the right connections, and fame. Thats why we can't all do it
Evan Chase Pretty sure fame plays no part. It helps but doesn't define an artist. Look at Raf simons, Jun takahashi, and Margiela. Even Rick Owens, all of them had ideas and just did them. They didn't have any "fame" when they started and look where they are now.

The project in general was basic and seemed rushed. Those 1s however sort of saved his ass imo I love that sneaker. But at the end of the day it's off white innit so hype is always there

Oh god... so this is the new trend? "Unfinished" sneakers like Virgil put it? Look I can admire the hard work and the honesty of the man, but if this the new trend, then I'm done, not saying I'm a old head, but saying that, why spend money on a unfinished product? Atleast OG's and Ultraboost will be easier to get, but hey, who am I to judge? I'm just a Daily viewer who happens to have a interest in sneakers

I don't think you are getting the big picture here. He really isn't making clothes or shoes your average person here. These are items that have meaning to them. If you knew about fashion, Virgil isn't making any new design aesthetic. It's been done for years by the Japanese and Belgians. New to Westerners, they adopted the style. This is designing without boundaries, without having to worry whether the product will sell or not. It's a mixture of know how and aesthetics.
