Join us on a 44 tonne HGV aboard the Woolwich Ferry, crossing the River Thames in London - it's an unusual and interesting experience, aboard one of the trio of 55 year-old ferries, which are due to be replaced later this year.

A trip on the Woolwich ferries was a Sunday treat for me in the 1950s. They were paddle steamers then, and the engine rooms were a sight & smell to behold,

This crossing was recorded inside a truck while crossing, so I'm afraid the ship sounds couldn't be heard, anyway. Thanks!
