  • Charles Gounod's "O Divine Redeemer" (Repentir) and Carl Bloch's "Christ Healing the Sick at Bethesda" share many of the same contrasting themes: darkness and light, despair and hope, fear and trust, pain and healing. Neither really shows the resolution of these themes, but both hint at the direction such a resolution might take.

    Nathan Cox, cello
    Nathan Schaumann, piano

Beautiful arrangement, impeccably performed and featuring two of my favourite musical instruments!
The piece itself is truly amazing. A plea for help, mercy and deliverance from God, the Divine Redeemer...not too much of that happening these days.
    Thanks for sharing!

Great job with a very difficult song. You can check out a recording of me singing it on my blog. I wish I were as relaxed and comfortable as you are when I sing.

Nice voice. But she needs to open the back of her throat a lot more. And sing into her chest. You can hear her tightening as she gses to that big note "grant me PARDON" a lot more opening needee
