“Just looking”
That's a great goal!
Yes! Me too! You can do it!

Glad to see Nisan, queen of pleated pants ❤
She's the best!
Hello and thanks for this thought-provoking video! I’ve been watching a lot of Make 9s and capsule wardrobe planning videos but I like the choose-your-own-challenge idea. Nisan’s idea to sew entirely by hand is very appealing but perhaps next year! My general intention this year are to shop much less and sew much more to continue on the road I set last year, which is to make the majority of my new clothes myself. I already buy more thrifted items than new ones, but need to lower the overall number of what I bring into my life. This leaves no room for new items, except for what I sew. I already have patterns and fabric for at least 6 garments I want to finish before any additional shopping.
I love your approach to shopping less and sewing more! So good to hear about your progress, keep going!
I purchased the Husqvarna Amber 6000 it is a combination serger/coverstitch with a touch screen, air threading. I gave away three other machines and reorganized my sewing space to accomodate it and I've never been happier. I also joined the Murder Mystery Quilt 2025, what a hoot. I felt that a once a month project to help me learn new skills would get me in my newly reorganized space more ofen. Voila it is working. I have been in my sewing room more this month that I was during the last three months.
Sounds like you're off to a great start!
Hi Closet core patterns! Greetings from México❤ I loved this video and enjoyed the discussion around new year's resolutions. It was interesting to hear different perspectives and different goals for sewing in general in 2025. I would love to watch more videos of these discussions as they inspire and empower us to keep sewing!
Thank you for sharing your feedback - we are so glad you enjoyed the video! We're planning to do more like this in 2025.
Enjoyed this chat immensely. But also for me, it’s sew more casual garments that fit my lifestyle. I have a work uniform, but every other day I want something pretty to wear to brunch on a Saturday, or a Friday night dinner, and more house-leasure-wear that I want to reach for while at home.
We're right there with you on the house-leasure wear!
This was a great video! I have not purchased a closet core pattern yet, but I will this year.
We're so glad you enjoyed the video!
My word of the year is Moderation. I want to react in moderation to the world events, so that I can pick and choose where I want to put my energies. I also want to use moderation in what and how I buy fabric for my projects, including the number of projects for myself and others. I think this is realistic, especially if I use moderation in my expectations of what my sewing will look like on my body. Moderation will also allow me to pick particular techniques to focus on rather than trying to make the whole garment perfect.
That's a great approach to a new year, and a great plan for sewing too!
Love th e word savor!!!
💛
Lovely to see you ladies!
I needed to adjust a waistband, it sat in mending for months … and only took me 30 minutes to get the pants to wearability. 🙄 Honestly, looks at self, do the work.
Also, ooo, shiny! 🤪
I have a Juki industrial dressmaker, but sold my industrial serger. I just didn’t have the space. Every once in a while, I think about trying to find a multistep zigzag industrial and trade in the dressmaker. But … they don’t come up on the used market often.
That waistband story is all too familiar! 😂
Loved this video, especially as you are each so different in your approach. I’m inspired by Muncie’s vision goal board “how does that make you feel?” I’m going to give that a go! I also have CCP workshops on swimsuit and jeans making that I’m yet to watch. So they’ll make the top of the list/ board ❤
Whoot! Good luck!
Juli semi industrial is the perfect machine. Power & compact
I LOVE savour! I'm also a rusher and my MO is to do things efficiently. It works great in the kitchen where timing is important, but in my sewing I think I'm trucking along too quickly and stressing myself out...
That's a great goal!
happy new year lovelies and thanks so much for this great video. closet core classes - swimsuit and jacket - for sure are what I'd like to do this year. oh and more red too I think :)
That sounds like a fabulous plan!
I’m trying to complete at least one garment per month. That’s more realistic for me. ❤
That's a great goal!
Do what you love and don’t put it off. I like the idea of choosing a skill, maybe per quarter. Chances are better you will do the thing you want to if you create a framework for yourself. I think I will choose a fitting skill per quarter and pick patterns that challenge me on that fitting type.
That sounds like a fabulous plan!
Loved this video and your unique points of view! My goal for 2025 is to organize and use my stash.
Always a satisfying goal!
My biggest barrier to sewing is the new PDF patterns. I either cannot get them to print properly, yes I check scale. Not sure if it is a printer issue or not, but it does not matter whose pattern it is. I also seem to end up with most things being too big.
I have made 3 garments, for others that I traced off of existing clothes and they turned out beautifully and fit perfectly, so it is not the “sewing” part of the process that is a problem. My other issue is that I do nit have any friends who sew with PDF patterns and I feel I need hands on help.
Think I may go back to basics and try to make myself a couple of tshirts to test PDF pattern issues.
Ugh, that sounds so frustrating. Our least favourite part of sewing is definitely the technical aspect of things. Would recommend tackling the troubleshooting when you are feeling patient 😅. So worth getting that figured out though, once you do you'll be flying I'm sure. Good luck!

.
Is Heather wearing a Jenna shirt in this video?
She sure is!
Alterations are so satisfying but it doesn’t mean I get them done!
Totally! 😂
it would be so much more relaxing to watch if you all were sitting down
Our feet love that suggestion! 😂
