One thing I’ve noticed is that the Polish lyrics, when translated into English, are substantially darker than the original song, and depict Loretta/Lottie as more of a religious zealot convinced she’s doing God’s work instead of just another serial killer who murders people for the hell of it. This also factors into the tone shift halfway through the song, once it’s revealed that Loretta was the killer all along. In the original version, Lottie sounds crazed and maniacal, bragging about how she killed them all and she’d do it again if she could. In the Polish translation, however, Lottie becomes angry and indignant, basically telling the people convicting her “How dare you punish me, I’m the only one who knows what’s right!” Edit: Another thing I wanted to add for context: in this version, their equivalent of the original lyrics “All God’s creatures, they all gotta die” actually roughly translates into “You do not know the day or hour, only God knows it.” However, at the very very end of the song, the last time she sings it, it changes to “You do not know the day or hour…only *I* know it,” further revealing that Lottie’s savior complex may even be a full-on God complex.
My thoughts exactly. I found this version first and felt let down by the original afterward. I like dark songs and while the original ballad is great to just listen to, it doesn't feel like a testimony of a complete murderous maniac, whose madness is slowly uncovered by every verse of Polish version, which I think works much better. And I really prefer this one over the original.
coming from english alone, i didn't notice any difference in the lyrics. but the mood is much darker and fits the song well. (there might be some subtle differences in the lyrics, but i didn't notice them.)

The music itself is brilliant, the beginning being just a simple piano over a young girl singing. Then when that’s over, the song slowly starts to gets more and more sinister with some more added cords till near the end: where it all comes together to make a bombastic ending that even WITHOUT the singer’s voice, FEELS like it’s screaming at you. The singer herself is also incredible. She often BLEACHING her verses during near the end, selling the part of this being a insane woman yelling about how she is right and her crimes. Ogólnie to moja interpretacja tej piosenki i historii (można brać za teorie lub coś w tym stylu). Ogólnie chodzi o polską wersję, a nie angielską, a moja wersja dotyczy tylko tej polskiej. To tak: Lotta od młodości była psychiczna, tylko nie było tego widać (jak u każdego mordercy). Najbardziej z przedmiotów uwielbiała religię (miała szóstki) oraz interesowała się baletem. Jednak przez ogólne wychowanie matki i psychozę (patrz: Edd Gein. W jej przypadku mogło być podobnie.) ubzdurała sobie, że jest Bogiem i coraz bardziej w to wierzyła, ale zabójstw dokonała dopiero, gdy z baletem jej nie wyszło. To wszystko spowodowało lawinę morderstw. Zabijała swoje ofiary, twierdząc, że odsyła je do Boga. Wtedy jeszcze twierdziła, że jest tylko takim jakby aniołem śmierci. Najpierw utopiła chłopca w rzece. Później przybiła psa do drzwi, co odbiło się traumą na psychice kapłana. Jak wiadomo zwierzęta nie mają duszy, więc według jej mniemania nie posłała swojej ofiary do pana, co dla niej równało się z brakiem zabójstwa. Później głowę bez ciała znaleziono w fontannie (pomnik baletnicy symbolizuje brak kariery Lotty, ale również zaginione ciało). Ostatnią jej ofiarą była staruszka. Zawahała się, gdyż może dobiło jej sumienie, więc trochę zwolniła + wbijanie noża w klatkę piersiową jest trudne dla dorosłego mężczyzny, a co dopiero dla nastoletniej dziewczyny, dlatego, gdy zabiła kobietę nie zdążyła uciec (zczesywanie krwi z włosów jest taką symboliką złapania). Dlatego, że dziewczyna tym razem zabiła w dzień, a zaniepokojeni sąsiedzi wezwali policję złapano ją. Wtedy też trafiła do psychiatryka, gdyż sądowi lekarze oznajmili jej niepoczytalność. Dzięki lekom dziewczyna odziskiwała „normalność”, ale tylko gdy je brała, bo bez nich (lub z nimi to zależy od tego jak patrzeć) jej stan się pogarszał (pomimo przyjmowania lekarstw też zależy jak patrzeć). Zaczynała twierdzić, że jest bogiem oraz zaczynała czuć zemstę do tych co ją uwięzili. Niestety nigdy nie odzyskała wolności i zmarła w ośrodku psychiatrycznym. Wypuszczanie z ręki żółtą kulę może znaczyć opuszczenie ciała przez duszę. Jej taniec pod koniec może właśnie oznaczać coraz większe szaleństwo, a pajęczyny symbolizują brud i grzech przez co je zrywała, a to oznaczało chęć odcięcia się od winy zabójstw i nieczystości. Do tego początek pieśni w moim odczucia oznacza, że zwykle mordowała w nocy, gdy wszyscy spali, a dopiero rankiem odkrywano zwłoki. Co do baletu pierwszą wersję przedstawiłam: nie wyszła jej kariery, Jednak mam jeszcze drugą: w dzień zajmowała się baletem; ćwiczyła go przez także nie podejrzewano ją o zabójstwa, ale gdy tylko trafiła do ośrodka psychiatrycznego jej kariera się kończyła (tak jak ten taniec). To wszystko. Można dyskutować i przedstawić swoją wersję, i tak dalej, i tak dalej.
To wykonanie jest tak genialne... I ta animacja... Pamiętam jak odkryłyśmy to z koleżanką w liceum plastycznym lata temu a potem na imprezach śpiewałyśmy to pijane :D

Gdy po kolejnych morderstwach, Loretta jest zamknięta w psychiatryka. To wszyscy wiedzą. Ale ten taniec symbolizuje te szaleństwo. Na końcu, gdy mowa jest o leczeniu, Loretta pada na posadzkę i już nie tańczy. Leki działają. Być może do zabójstw doszło z jakiejś frustracji, myślę, że Lori chciała być baletnicą (taniec, fontanna baletnica, stare zdjęcie baletnicy). Jednak coś poszło nie tak.

+Gladorn The only 'downside' is that lyrics sung are vastly different then the subtitles. Subtitles are original Nick Cave's tekst, Polish lyrics are not the translation, they are loose interpretation. The animation makes much more sense with regards to the Polish text.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the Polish lyrics, when translated into English, are substantially darker than the original song, and depict Loretta/Lottie as more of a religious zealot convinced she’s doing God’s work instead of just another serial killer who murders people for the hell of it.
This also factors into the tone shift halfway through the song, once it’s revealed that Loretta was the killer all along. In the original version, Lottie sounds crazed and maniacal, bragging about how she killed them all and she’d do it again if she could. In the Polish translation, however, Lottie becomes angry and indignant, basically telling the people convicting her “How dare you punish me, I’m the only one who knows what’s right!”
Edit: Another thing I wanted to add for context: in this version, their equivalent of the original lyrics “All God’s creatures, they all gotta die” actually roughly translates into “You do not know the day or hour, only God knows it.” However, at the very very end of the song, the last time she sings it, it changes to “You do not know the day or hour…only *I* know it,” further revealing that Lottie’s savior complex may even be a full-on God complex.
My thoughts exactly. I found this version first and felt let down by the original afterward. I like dark songs and while the original ballad is great to just listen to, it doesn't feel like a testimony of a complete murderous maniac, whose madness is slowly uncovered by every verse of Polish version, which I think works much better. And I really prefer this one over the original.

Then when that’s over, the song slowly starts to gets more and more sinister with some more added cords till near the end: where it all comes together to make a bombastic ending that even WITHOUT the singer’s voice, FEELS like it’s screaming at you.
The singer herself is also incredible. She often BLEACHING her verses during near the end, selling the part of this being a insane woman yelling about how she is right and her crimes. Ogólnie to moja interpretacja tej piosenki i historii (można brać za teorie lub coś w tym stylu). Ogólnie chodzi o polską wersję, a nie angielską, a moja wersja dotyczy tylko tej polskiej.
To tak:
Lotta od młodości była psychiczna, tylko nie było tego widać (jak u każdego mordercy). Najbardziej z przedmiotów uwielbiała religię (miała szóstki) oraz interesowała się baletem. Jednak przez ogólne wychowanie matki i psychozę (patrz: Edd Gein. W jej przypadku mogło być podobnie.) ubzdurała sobie, że jest Bogiem i coraz bardziej w to wierzyła, ale zabójstw dokonała dopiero, gdy z baletem jej nie wyszło. To wszystko spowodowało lawinę morderstw. Zabijała swoje ofiary, twierdząc, że odsyła je do Boga. Wtedy jeszcze twierdziła, że jest tylko takim jakby aniołem śmierci. Najpierw utopiła chłopca w rzece. Później przybiła psa do drzwi, co odbiło się traumą na psychice kapłana. Jak wiadomo zwierzęta nie mają duszy, więc według jej mniemania nie posłała swojej ofiary do pana, co dla niej równało się z brakiem zabójstwa. Później głowę bez ciała znaleziono w fontannie (pomnik baletnicy symbolizuje brak kariery Lotty, ale również zaginione ciało). Ostatnią jej ofiarą była staruszka. Zawahała się, gdyż może dobiło jej sumienie, więc trochę zwolniła + wbijanie noża w klatkę piersiową jest trudne dla dorosłego mężczyzny, a co dopiero dla nastoletniej dziewczyny, dlatego, gdy zabiła kobietę nie zdążyła uciec (zczesywanie krwi z włosów jest taką symboliką złapania). Dlatego, że dziewczyna tym razem zabiła w dzień, a zaniepokojeni sąsiedzi wezwali policję złapano ją. Wtedy też trafiła do psychiatryka, gdyż sądowi lekarze oznajmili jej niepoczytalność. Dzięki lekom dziewczyna odziskiwała „normalność”, ale tylko gdy je brała, bo bez nich (lub z nimi to zależy od tego jak patrzeć) jej stan się pogarszał (pomimo przyjmowania lekarstw też zależy jak patrzeć). Zaczynała twierdzić, że jest bogiem oraz zaczynała czuć zemstę do tych co ją uwięzili. Niestety nigdy nie odzyskała wolności i zmarła w ośrodku psychiatrycznym. Wypuszczanie z ręki żółtą kulę może znaczyć opuszczenie ciała przez duszę. Jej taniec pod koniec może właśnie oznaczać coraz większe szaleństwo, a pajęczyny symbolizują brud i grzech przez co je zrywała, a to oznaczało chęć odcięcia się od winy zabójstw i nieczystości. Do tego początek pieśni w moim odczucia oznacza, że zwykle mordowała w nocy, gdy wszyscy spali, a dopiero rankiem odkrywano zwłoki.
Co do baletu pierwszą wersję przedstawiłam: nie wyszła jej kariery,
Jednak mam jeszcze drugą: w dzień zajmowała się baletem; ćwiczyła go przez także nie podejrzewano ją o zabójstwa, ale gdy tylko trafiła do ośrodka psychiatrycznego jej kariera się kończyła (tak jak ten taniec).
To wszystko. Można dyskutować i przedstawić swoją wersję, i tak dalej, i tak dalej.
To wykonanie jest tak genialne... I ta animacja... Pamiętam jak odkryłyśmy to z koleżanką w liceum plastycznym lata temu a potem na imprezach śpiewałyśmy to pijane :D

MOJA INTERPRETACJA: Widzimy, że zaczyna się spokojnie. Dziewczyna, której szaleństwo coraz bardziej się rozkręca. Muzyka przyśpiesza, śpiew coraz bardziej agresywny. Gdy po kolejnych morderstwach, Loretta jest zamknięta w psychiatryka. To wszyscy wiedzą.
Ale ten taniec symbolizuje te szaleństwo. Na końcu, gdy mowa jest o leczeniu, Loretta pada na posadzkę i już nie tańczy. Leki działają.
Być może do zabójstw doszło z jakiejś frustracji, myślę, że Lori chciała być baletnicą (taniec, fontanna baletnica, stare zdjęcie baletnicy). Jednak coś poszło nie tak.

+Gladorn The only 'downside' is that lyrics sung are vastly different then the subtitles. Subtitles are original Nick Cave's tekst, Polish lyrics are not the translation, they are loose interpretation. The animation makes much more sense with regards to the Polish text.
