ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

To me Rachele has that Disney Princess voice where I feel like she'd be great singing voiceovers for them, But Mac Royals has that cornbread and collard greens quenched with Sweet Kool-Aid soul in his voice that goes well with almost anything.

I Ioved when Mac chose Reba in the blinds because it shows that he's willing to explore outside of his comfort zone. But who are we kidding... He belongs on #TeamLegend. His smooth effortlessness is soothing to listen to. Very soulful and captivating. I would love to see what he does with John as his coach. Great steal🎉
I was really rooting for him on team Reba, but you really gotta go with who has the most experience with your voice type because they will have better insight on how to make your performance stand out. I believe he will thrive more now. He did play it a tad safe though. He seems like a sleepy singer, which even though he has a great tone, will be hard to compete with in the battles.

I was surprised Mac didn’t take Reba’s advice about keeping the opening of the song in the classic style. However, I respect his individuality a lot and he is one of my favs! 😍 Nobody in the competition like Mac, I could see him winning.

@@HTAnderson76 Thank you! I was thinking the same thing and was so surprised to hear that comment repeated several times. John even went "Yess" after Mac's like second phrase in the beginning, so it was odd to hear him say something about pitch issues at first.

yeah I am confused because i actually heard a pitch problem on the girl once and I feel like yes she can sing do not get me wrong but she was over singing this particular song. Still a greeeeeat duet and it was a hard decison.
Reba kept telling him not to sing the tempo different, he did so he was behind beat. He didn't listen to her. He always sounds late, and like a backup guy cause of it.
He belongs with John. I would love to hear a Mac album. Dudes voice is too buttery smooth

I had the same feeling. I thought Mac did so well, but I just had this feeling that Rachele had so much left to be discovered in her voice! And that’s not meaning any disrespect to anybody. I loved Mac’s performance! I would’ve been upset had either one left!!
MAC ROYALS needs to give a stylists class for upcoming artists. He is too smooth and talented and very clean. He really has a stardom about him.

What tone issue was Mac having? He sang this perfectly. He literally showed so much range. Going from tenor to his falsetto through the song is wild! Loved it!!

Rachel’s voice cracked a few times midway through and I’m surprised Reba didn’t catch that. However glad Mac got saved!

John and Nial tried to say Mac had pitch problems and his was perfect the whole way through… she on the other hand definitely cracked and had a flat note right after, and they didn’t point it out at all!
Well mac had problems following the beat of the song and he disregarded Reba's advice during rehearsals by using his own approach only to fail to sing the song at the beginning.

Love them both. Mac’s voice is awesome it’s very smooth and rich. Mac deserved to stay. So glad John saved him. I want to hear much more from him.
This was the best performance of the night, Mac killed it with his vocals and at 17 Rachel held her own!

Beautiful! Rachele was able to show off more of her range, but Mac has the most buttery smooth.
I was really surprised by Rachel, she performed like she was in her house and there was nothing to lose! Mac is great too, glad they both continue

This was my favorite battle so far, they compliment each other so well. I knew Mac's voice was beyond good, but Rachele really surprised me. I'm really glad they both got through.
Let's hope that the judges in this season will be more open and more fair to put through some other ethnicity competitors other than just white and black.

He should have picked John from the beginning because Reba did not know what to do with him. I am so happy that John finally got him!! Reba was not really in to him from day one. She did stand up at least rhats what I saw.. I love Mac's tone but he really should have stuck to the melody of that beautiful song..He would have killed it but instead to me he was just trying to make it his own.. Rule number one when its a song as iconic as that one sing the song and let your talent get you thru..he could have but didnt. Which really didnt help him at all..
I purposely went back and watched it before I wrote my message. All of the other judges stood up but she did not. He just needed a judge to know what to do with him and they have to know what songs to give to their team.@@catfergie4361

Reba is an incredible coach, I just watched Rachel's blind audition. She grew by leaps and bounds! They were both incredible on this track! I want this version.

Therefore you have to be savvy enough to do it. Not just anyone can change a song and make it better or as good as the original.

Rachelle’s voice is diamond in the rough. The kind of voice that will surprise everyone as she goes thru her journey here. Can’t explain it but I really love her innocence, her face value, HER VOICE of course. So addictive even though she goes off pitch sometimes. How much more when gets more control of her voice Star in the making!

Another incredibly LUCKY save for John. Mac’s voice …his gorgeous tone…..buttery, understated (no need for over kill on runs) enveloping……some of the sweetness and honesty of Donny Hathaway. Rachel was wonderful too…both were so good.

I have watched this like 20 times in a row I do not hear the off Pitch they are referring to. May be it is something they heard being there live. However, watching the recording Mac was flawless. Love how he took the higher note on the harmony on the chorus after the second verse. the Riff at 2:02-2:08 on the word (Be) was simple but so nice it fit perfectly.
