ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

I see what John was saying about Brandon’s voice being “rare”. I replayed the video and listened just to Brandon and he was mesmerizing. He was holding his own even through Kara’s part. The song would not have been as beautiful without Brandon.

Beautifully done from both of them. Brandon's tone, poise and precision, depth across registers and Kara's power and consistency were a match made in heaven. No wrong choice, and no right choice there. Glad to see them both move on.

I loved Brandon'svoice, smooth and silky. Kara gave a beautiful performance also, but I'm surprised Gwen chose her. It all worked out for the best though since Brandon was stolen by John!. Nice performance, I'm glad they're both still in the competition! Good luck y'all🕊🍀🕊

Baby, when she started singing the melody on the second chorus as a male tenor I trembled. I literally thought the guy was singing the male tenor, but I then realized he was doing the ad libs. I understand why she had to sing the male tenor there, it wasn't just about showcasing her versatility. Apparently the coach wanted to give the guy the chance to do ad lib on the second chorus, since she did it on the first. And in order for him to be able to take back the lead melody in the second half of the chorus, she had to start it on the male tenor line. What a beautiful arrangement.

OooweeEEE! Brandon is a pretty man. And his voice is beautiful. Gwen continues to pick the amazing deep cut songs for her artists and OUR pleasure. Kara really came in with some vocal dominance - she was totally in the pocket, then hanging behind the beat - moving forward into the groove - proclaim singing the emotion of the song. She sang those lyrics with musical and mature integrity. Her runs were subtle as hell & her vocal tone carried the song. This was a win/win battle. I LOVE that Gwen doesn't care that we're no longer supposed to comment on someone being attractive. She said Brandon was gorgeous - and Brandon is! He's a four chair turn pretty voice man too. Lean less on maintaining his *face.* He was a bit tentative, but sounded beautiful. John Legend is the right coach for him. Brandon is going to sing AND look pretty next time you see him. His range is Smokey Robinson beautiful. Or Bee Gees without the falsetto. Sam Smith, Chris Brown, Usher - too easy. John Legend likes to look pretty too - quiet as it's kept. 😉

Perfection ! Perfect song choice, perfect harmony, perfect execution, the adlibs and runs were so close to the original. They nailed it. I was for Brandon at first cause lara started shaky vocal but she changed my mind later on during the song.

Have the coaches forgotten how to execute a battle round? Half these battles featured some of the most technically sound singers the voice has had in years and yet these songs put them against each other in messy displays of one ups manship. Both these two are obviously very talented and know their voices well but struggled to make this sound like a fluid duet where you have opportunities to shine individually AND show your ability to sing together.

This is absolutely magnificent. Both channeled how soulful 90s R&B can be, but emotions were 100% there in every word from both. Kara edged it for sure with some of the emphasis she made. That "break" in the first chorus was really powerful. There's that waver, tremor, and vibration in her voice that's on the verge of shaking too much, but she kept it in place and was commanding throughout. Really impressive.
