    I purchased a new Santa Fe in May of 2020. It has been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Great to drive and a solidly built car, no rattles. Has all the bells and whistles you need.

    Had exact same car too, but 2019. It was parked and got hit by a drunk driver. We’re replacing it with a 2020. Love this car. BTW, gas mileage is really better than advertised.

    I have the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 2.0T FWD which was purchased in December 2018. You can't go wrong with this SUV. We also own 2 Honda CRVs and the Santa Fe is by far the better vehicle...better price, more features, smooth ride, a great interior (love the panoramic moon roof), no CVT, lots of convenience features and a longer warranty. Perfect for our family of four. I drive a lot of stop and go traffic in metropolitan Baltimore and I personally choose to turn off the start/stop feature. I love the smart cruise control and collision avoidance. I didn't get the navigation because I just hook up my phone easily through Android Auto. This vehicle deserves a look if you're in the market for an SUV.

    I JUST BOUGHT A 2020 ELITE 2.0T, AND I'M IN LOVE WITH IT. QUIET, STURDY, SOLID. THE DRIVER ASSIST IS FANTASTIC. DITTO FOR THE AUTO WIPERS. IT WILL BY ITSELF COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FROM THE LEADING CAR. ONE NEAT THING IS THAT YOU CAN DIAL IN THE SPEED, AND IT SHOWS ON THE DASH. THE COOL PART IS AFTER A STOP, AFTER 20 MPH, HIT RESUME AND IT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE SPEED YOU SET. THE HEADSUP IS FANTASTIC; EVEN SHOWS THE SPEED LIMIT. ALSO THE REAR SEATS SLIDE AND RECLINE. TONS OF ROOM, AND THERE IS A PLACE TO HIDE YOUR CARGO COVER UNDER THE FLOOR. I HATE TO GET OUT OF IT.

    Good video. FYI Consumer Reports puts this in the mid-sized catagory with Ford Edge, Nissan Murano and Honda Passport not the Subcompact catagory. Those subscribers are probably not cross shopping this vehicle with subcompacts (me). I ended up with the Honda Passport Elite because the more powerful V6 and Honda reliability appealed to me more than the Santa Fe which to me seemed very slow after driving the Passport. Yes I know I paid more, but the VTEC is great and I keep my vehicles forever.

    I have this exact vehicle....color, trim level, power train, engine. except mines the 2019. it would be nice to have that blind view video feed in the instrument cluster though haha. and just so your viewers know I recently took mine on a long road trip from central IL to Tampa, FL and averaged 33mpg....as long as you aren't a speed demon. haha. my only complaint is that with the nice handling stiffer platform you do trade some ride comfort over rougher pavement. but over all I LOVE this vehicle. crazy to think this top trim is almost exact same price wise as a fully loaded CrV or the like. Keep up the great work guys!

    I BOUGHT THE TURBO ELITE, AND AFTER TWO YEARS I STILL GET OUT AND LOOK AT IT. I BOUGHT A GREAT CAR!! THE ONLY COMPLAINTS IS NO START BUTTON. IT IS SUPER QUIET, GREATLY COMFORTABLE. FOR ONE OF THE FIRST TIMES IN LIFE, I GOT IN REAR COMPARTMENT, AND I WAS TOTALLY IMPRESSED, HEATED SEAT, THE REAR AC VENTS WORK GREAT. THE 115 VAC IN THE REAR IS SUPER COOL, I HAVE ELECTRIC COOLER THAT HEATS OR COOLS. SUPER FOR TAILGATE PARTIES I'VE ATTENDED. I HAD TO HAVE THE WINDSHIELD RECALL AND I WAS GIVEN A 2022 SANTA FE. IT WAS A LOWER LEVEL. NO 360 CAM. IT'S ONE OF THOSE THINGS YOU GET USED TO, PARKING NOT FIVE FEET FROM POLES, I TDID NOT HAVE THE 360 I'VE BECOME USED TO, AND I KNEW I DID LIKE NOT HAVING IT. MY ELITE ALSO HAS BACKING UP SYSTEM THAT WILL HALT CAR AND BEEP. ALSO, THE SENSOR WILL BEEP WHEN YOU ARE BACKING UP AND SOME ONE IS DRIVING PAST YOU. GREAT WHEN YOU ARE PARKED BETWEEN LARGE F150'S AND THE LIKE, IT ALLOWS YOU TO SLOWLY BACK OUT AND BEEPS TO TELL YOU OF A CAR IS APPROACHING. ALSO IF YOUR KIDS ARE TRYING TO EXIT ON THE LEFT SIDE INTO TRAFFIC, IF THE SENSOR DETECTS A VEHICLE APPROACHING, IT LOCKS THE REAR DOORS. ALSO, IF YOU LOCK THE DOORS AND THERE IS SOMETHING THAT MOVES, I.E. BABY, THE ENTIRE LIGHTING AND HORN GO OFF. YOU HAVE NO WAY OF SAYING YOU FORGOT BABY IN CAR. I FOUND OUT ON FIRST DAY. I LEFT MY SHIH TZU IN CAR AS I RAN INTO GAS STORE. I LOCKED THE DOORS; IN ABOUT TWO STEPS IT WENT CRAZY. I WAS CONFOUNDED AT FIRST, NEW CAR, BUT THEN I FIGURED OUT WHY. NOW I CRACK WINDOWS, OPEN THAT FANTASTIC SUNROOF, BUT I CAN'T LOCK THE CAR OR HE WILL SET OFF ALARM SYSTEM. IT'S A GREAT SYSTEM. I DISCOVERD BY ACCIDENT, IF YOU ARE IN A DRIVE IN LINE AND FOR SOME REASON, DROPPED CREDIT CARD, AND YOU GET OUT AND DO NOT FASTEN THE SEAT BELT IT WILL NOT MOVE. I DID NOT KNOW THIS AT THAT MOMENT SO I TRIED LIKE MAD TO MOVE FORWARD. CHECKED EVERY THING. WTF, THEN I FASTENED SEAT BELT AND ALL WAS GREAT. MOM'S/DAD'S GET OUT TO TAKE CARE OF KIDS IN REAR AND IT WONT ROLD AWAY TO ENDANGER HER/HIM FROM GETTING RAN OVER. ALL I CAN SAY, FANTASTIC SUV TWO YEARS LATER STILL. I LOVE THE GRILLE AND ITS DARK CHROME, LED TAIL LIGHTS. OH YEAR, THE LOWER HEADLIGHTS. I CAN NOT SEE WELL AT NIGHT, SO I LOVE THE LED HIGH BEAMS. THEY HAVE GREAT CUTOFF. BEING LOWER I CAN DRIVE ALL OVER AND ONLY ONCE IN AWHILE I GET SOMEONE FLASHING LIGHTS. THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY FEATURE NO ONE TALKS ABOUT OTHER THAN BEENING LOW. I WISH THERE WAS LID ON THE FORWARD COMPARTMENT, I HAD ONE IN MY 2015 SONATA SPORT. BUT ALL THE INPUTS ALLOW ME CHARGE PHONE AND ALL I LISTEN TO IS MY THUMBDRIVES OF MUSIC DOWNLOADED FROM RUclips. ALSO AS IN MY SPORT AND MY WIFES 2003 KIA OPTIMA, WHICH SHE NOT LET ME TRADE FOR NEWER ONE. IT RUNS GREAT, RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT. NEVER DID ANYTHING BUT TAKE IN FOR SERVICE AND PUT GAS IN THEM. SUPER RELIABLE, WONDERFULLY GREAT CARS AND VALUES. 👍👍👍👍

    The Santa Fe is an excellent vehicle, especially for those for whom a compact SUV is a bit too small and most three row midsize crossovers are too large and have a third row of seats that are neither needed nor wanted. I'm repeatedly surprised, though, that so few reviewers seem to recognize how similar the Santa Fe and the KIA Sorento are. In fact, if the Palisade and Telluride are at least fraternal twins the Santa Fe and Sorento are step-siblings.
    The shared list of shared components, features, and dimensions is a long one. Almost identical lengths, the Sorento is 189" and the Santa Fe is 187.8" and Nearly identical wheelbases (108.9" for the Santa Fe; 109.4" for the Sorento.) Each falls in the "tweener" class (188"-192") in length between compact and larger midsize SUV's along with the Ford Edge, Nissan Murano, Honda Pathfinder, Subaru Outback, and others. Same AWD systems. Same eight speed transmissions. Very similar switchgear from the same parts bins in the same locations. Same infotainment systems though the screen placements differ. Exactly the same interior cargo space. Exactly the same passenger space in the first two rows. In short, anyone familiar with either vehicle will feel at home in the other.
    At the same time, though, the list of differences are short but significant. The base engines are identical but the "performance" engines differ. The Santa Fe uses the same turbocharged 4 cylinder mill that was dropped from the KIA in 2018 and is the base engine in the KIA Stinger. The KIA offers a naturally aspirated 3.3L V6. (The same engine used in the KIA Stinger GT in a twin scroll turbo configuration.) Personally, I prefer the KIA's V6 especially considering that the weight difference in the top trim vehicles is only 64 lbs (4101 vs 4063.) In a vehicle with a curb weight over two tons (and even more when loaded with fuel, a maximum number of passengers, and luggage/gear) physics is physics and I'm inclined to believe a NA V6 is more durable than a turbo 4.
    The other biggest difference, of course, is that the Sorento offers a third row of seats. The two row version of the Sorento was dropped in 2018 shortly before the current Santa Fe replaced the Santa Fe Sport (and the older Santa Fe became the Santa Fe XL). The underfloor cargo space in the Santa Fe is occupied by the third seat row when it's stowed. If one doesn't need the additional seating the Santa Fe's extra storage is convenient but it's worth noting that it can be accessed only if the cargo space above it is empty thus limiting its utility. Whether the Sorento's third row is worthwhile depends on one's needs. It's actually surprisingly accommodating even for a couple of adults for local trips and is VERY convenient when there's a need for more than five passengers and the option is taking two vehicles.
    The Santa Fe received a major update more recently than the Sortento so there are several smaller differences. The Santa Fe has a digital cockpit in the top trims lacking in the Sorento though for the most part the information provided is the same in both vehicles. The 2020 Santa Fe has the lane change camera views found in the Telluride and Palisade. It will be interesting to see if they're available in the 2020 Sorento. The Santa Fe introduced an excellent notification system if a child or pet is left in a closed car. That system is in the Telluride and the Palisade and I strongly suspect it will be added to the Sorento in 2020. If it saves a single infant's life it will be worth it. Not to mention the hundreds (or thousands) of pets who die each year locked in overheated vehicles. The Santa Fe also has a lockout feature for driver side doors if a camera detects oncoming traffic. Another valuable feature that may show up in the next Sorento.
    Overall, the Santa Fe and Sorento are aimed at somewhat different market segments despite their similarities. The Santa Fe is priced and marketed as a larger alternative to compact crossovers like the CR-V and Rav4. The Sorento is a smaller more convenient size three row crossover. One might think the Sorento's sales would be impacted by the Telluride and there seems to be some evidence of that in the last three months but sales continue to be relatively strong. Whether the Santa Fe will suffer in sales with the availability of the Palisade seems less likely but time will tell.
    Personally I prefer the Sorento for its V6 and occasional use third row seating. And in the top trim SX-L the materials (e.g. Nappa leather) are somewhat more premium than in the comparable "Ultimate" Santa Fe. But others will differ and I can understand that. In any event, they're each an excellent choice among the "Goldilocks" crossover size.

If find another strong opponent vs. Sante Fe, which one you will recommend? Thank you!

    Just traded in my 2018 Tucson for the 2020 Santa Fe limited as I needed more space. I'm super excited and was SO thrilled to find a review from you guys! Any idea how to get the back seats to slide forwards and backwards? Neither the salesman nor myself could find a lever or button to do so. Also a little bummed that the glove box isn't lit, but those are the only complaints!

    I am 6' 3". When I get the seat where it feels comfortable (raised), it seems like I am staring right at the visor. I also feel like front visibility is somewhat hampered by the read view mirror and front facing safety cameras/equipment. Perhaps the issue relates to the angle of the windshield? Anyone else experience this? BTW, it seems like the Subaru Forester does not have that issue. But it is no where near the same vehicle as the Santa Fe. Replies appreciated.

      @cohall46 4 года назад +1

      I just test drove the 2020 and did not notice the issues that you mentioned. I am 5' 11" but like to drive with the seat as high as I can get it without my head hitting the roof. Normally I drive a 2018 Honda Accord which has a definite angled windshield so maybe that is why I had no problem with the Santa Fe windshield.

    My ONLY complaint with mine is that the non-LED headlights are not strong or bright enough, and because of their location are very hard to replace. My 2010 acura rdx had significantly better projector beam headlights as standard that were bright blue/white tint and reached very far. If youre used to something like that, it’s hard to transition to something worse.

Want list: good cargo space, quiet cabin, responsive engine, good fuel mileage, spacious front, and rear seats and a bit luxury feel comfort ride. Well first of all, we haven't driven/ reviewed the VW Tiguan... However we have spent extensive time in the Santa Fe and RDX. Both are really lovely vehicles that I honestly think would fulfill the requirements you just said. The biggest differentiators will be that A) the Acura is a luxury vehicle with more luxurious cabin, and B) the Santa Fe has discounts which should bring the price to be significantly lower than the Acura or the VW. Hopefully this helps you somewhat 🙂

    How many additional inches does the driver's thigh extension give the driver ? I could not tell when you showed this feature whether you extended it all the way or not. So many driver's seat bottom cushions are too short and a thigh extender or additional thigh support is critical for comfort on longer drives.

      Jake Stoler Yeah I’m pretty much sold on the Santa Fe SEL Plus AWD. The one hesitation was Toyota’s reliability reputation but the Hyundai 10yr Powertrain warranty offsets that.
      TrueCar has the market price at 29,300.

    • @jakes5530
      @jakes5530 5 лет назад

      Gibby Hikes that would be pretty good for the 2020, I bet you could get a ‘19 for even less at the dealerships, especially in a month or two when they’re really trying to make room for all 2020 inventory. I think reliability will largely be the same as the Toyota, both have naturally aspirated engines and 8 speed transmissions so theoretically should last forever. Infotainment seems very easy to use and pretty basic stuff, which is great for reliability. The HVAC system has been excellent in 100+ degree days, cools down very quick, no issues there.
