A Thunderstorm Terrified My Dog While Camping!

- Today we are heading camping with the dogs again! I know, a lot of travel packed into a few weeks! We are headed up to the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan! Copper Country! So you know there will be rock hounding involved! Today was mostly a travel day, but it was so hot when we arrived we had to take the dogs down to Lake Superior to dip their paws! Then right as everyone left for rock hounding, a crazy Thunderstorm rolled in and terrified my dog!

The Memphis radar ears, she looked very uneasy about the storm. Interesting, I would expect her to not care a bit and Eleanor to freak out.
That's probably the most concerned about a thunderstorm I've seen Memphis in a decade.

My gsd Zeus ( when he was alive) used to jump out 4 an a half foot fence and run to the porch whenever there was storms , fireworks etc 😢❤
My German Shepherd/Husky would try to hide in the under the bed or in the closet. Whenever there was a storm we'd make sure one of us was near him to comfort him.

The thunder doesn't bother me it's just the noise in general it hurts my ears my cat is the same way

Hang in there Memphis!!! Charlie too is scared of thunderstorms too. Charlie is a German Shephard Chow mix and he is now 11yrs and is probably a little better about thunderstorms now. We have dark clouds and rain here too. The weather here in Albuquerque is suppose to be in the low 80s and 70s. Thank goodness no more heat from Phoenix and Tucson. Memphis is so pretty sitting at the table. Kira is adorable sleeping on your bed. Nice vlog❤❤❤❤❤Joan 😊
It amazes me how a lake could have waves like the ocean, but in a smaller scale.

My dogs know to run back inside when it storms. Last big one they flew inside after being let out from their crate next to doggy door

You also got the thunder. In the UK, my aunties dod (Quincy) got a vert big fight when the rain started suddenly. It was on the Sunday.
Rocks at Keweenaw Bay were put there last month with heavy machinery.
Even though it was really cold I know the water feels so good on a really hot day.

Seeing the UP on your camping videos is just so great. I’ve recently been emailed transcripts of letters written to and from my 3rd great grandfather, who was a sawyer in the logging camps in that area. He was working at Trout Creek and Watersmeet in the early 1890s.

After Hurricane Opal in Florida, the used old Christmas trees to anchor the sand after the storm.
Do you think that Memphis's reaction to the storm is a result of her hearing (that's better than ours) or could it be, because she's an older dog (which she doesn't look a day over 5!)?

In the long run, putting the big rocks on the shore to prevent erosion actually accelerates it.
My lab, duke used to be terrified of storms too. One time she got out and there was a level 5 tornado headed straight for where we lived at the time and she was gone for about a week before someone found her in some barbed wire whitch was wrapped so tightly around her she couldent move only scream. She almost passed away at the vet. But she lived for around 4 months after that. She's been gone 2 years ago today 😢😢

When was this filmed, I was just in L’anse, to drive up Mount arvon, on Friday 8 September. I think I remember hearing they got some weather the day before I was there.
My rat terrier Sam will hide in the closet and under my bed and I would usually be with him during thunderstorms also I love the new truck that you’re mom and dad own and also I love how you are doing so many adventures I’m so excited to meet you soon it’s coming up fast but my other rat terrier Chloe is not scared of thunderstorms
My husky would try to hide under furniture so I would put her in the laundry room and put the dryer on to drown out the noise.
I miss the toll booth with people in them. I hate paying online.

Jamie, it's cold going swimming I'm sure in Northern Michigan. I'm from Long Island and the water their is freezing 🥶, even in Spring and Summer. Usually Florida has warmer water. Joan 🥶

Not been to Michigan in few years I’ve known humans that freak out over storms only get nervous when it’s super windy and it’s blowing over trees sense I’ve 2 very big trees one is 6 foot around and 50 foot tall lol
