Thanks Pete! 1:21 The truest words of musky wisdom EVER!
I was waiting for it and you finally did mention it, albeit pretty late, and without much detail. Depth change during the retrieve can be implemented by raising your rod tip and letting it flutter back to where it was on a semi-tight line. If you just let it flutter down it has a whole different look/feel. Works very well with a single blade, double blades not so much. similar thing where you just stop cranking and let it fall a bit before re-engaging and continuing your retrieve. I admit, pike are real suckers for this move but muskies do fall for it too.

Please give the man a break I knew a lot of what he was saying but it has been a few years since I went fishing for muskie back in my days of fishing on Eagle Lake in Northwestern Ontario (Ontario is funny shaped I think it was referred to as Northwestern Ontario) at a place called Cedar Point Lodge in a little hamlet can't remember the hamlet it is about 30 miles from Dryden huge lake Eagle Lake everybody knows about Eagle Lake, well anyway it never hurts to get a refresher course on the slow roll figure 8 for muskellunge even 62 year old codgers like myself plus I bet the guy probably makes a part time living as a guide so violation of fishing etiquette in my opinion to insinuate the man is somehow boring. After all have we not all had our share of bad days on the water when we did not catch any fish at all or maybe just one or two fish and these kind of lessons sink into the brain by osmosis if nothing else. I dare say that in today's age when we use so many electronic contraptions it is a wonder we can even fart without it being on command by somebody's iPhone or android device whatever.
