I have to say I cam here to see how good this product worked and so far I can see my lawn mower works better then this. Darn it I was really trying to find something that works better to cut up into tinny pieces. Thank you for the demo : )
I understand, it is a little more safe but I agree mow and bag can be very effective. I will be trying it out with wire this next year and post what I find.
i Just bought one, I LOVE the finished product, but my 'leaf' piles are FULL of 'sticks & stones' - That shred my string in < 3- 5 mins... Im thinking of using steel cable, but from the little Ive read, soldering the tips, will Help
Thanks for the tip, I will give it a go with the steel cables. I think I might try plastic coated steel cables used for hanging art first and see if it makes any difference.
You probably could, you would just need to stand it in the wheel barrow, but I would put some type of skirt over the legs so mulched leaves don't get everywhere.
Thanks for the video. What size was the black plastic bag btw? I tried my garbage bag from Sams club and it was too small :( and didn’t fit in the ring.
Actually I disagree with you as far as using a mower... its much easier and faster than this method and yes it does a great job, you just need to go over the leaves 4 or 5 times or until they're very fine, then put the bag on and pick up what's left. I raise my mower up so its not really grass cutting height. It mulches up finer than this machine does according to your pic

I get pretty good results breaking down leaves using my lawn mower with a decent mulch deck. I get an insane amount in the fall.
@@flackfruitthat’s great the wire may be the fix. Thank u ☺️
I feel the same
Thanks for the video. I was lucky to find one at Goodwill for $15. I have over 30 oaks and other trees. I am all about using leaves as free mulch 😊
You scored!! Yeah, it will take a while to mulch it all. But free is always good :)
Sweet! I bought one of these at a yard sale. Never used. Thanks for creating the video.
No problem, glad you got it, worth it for yard sale price.

Did it work to use tiny steel cables?@@flackfruit
I would like this machine if I could mulch directly into my wheel barrow or yard cart

I would like to know if the plastic unit and motor would fit on top of a plastic garbage can.
Depends on the size of the garbage can. I would assume yes if you get the right size.

The large black bags, I think 50 gallon.
Have you ever tried using s9mething like picture hang8ng wire instead of poly
Yes, I am going to give it a try this year and make a video about it.
👍
thx
?? Is how much does mulching refill line cost the refills.
I am not sure, I made some metal ones to see if they last longer, I went through the plastic ones really fast.
I wonder if you can replace the weed eater string with a metal replacement for branches and etc..... Just thinking 🤔
I think I will try it and see how it goes next year, then give another review :)
Would this work with a paper yard waste collection bag?
Yes, it doesn't push much air into the bag I would think so.
Has anyone tries using wire instead of the nylon string?
Some people recommended it, I will do the same this year, maybe make an update on how it works.
I feel like leaves are always wet and there’s always twigs mixed in with leaves haha…
For the most part they are, but it is so dry here they can get demolished. Thx for watching.

Thanks for the feedback, I will try the mulcher with metal wire this year and see how well it does. I am hoping it will make a difference.
@@flackfruit I was wondering the same thing about using metal wire. As long as the motor can handle it (not sure of the duty rating...), anyway...
Not so good
It works..... no pun intended. But not the best or most efficient.
