Train with me on my app doing my actual weekly program | 7-Day Free Trial | $8.99/mo 📲 www.myliftfitness.com/training-app - IMPORTANT HAMSTRING INFO➡️ Here’s how you can train them intelligently… 1️⃣ Typically, I’ll train them 2 days per week. Day 1 is a lying leg curl + a stiff leg deadlift variation. Day 2 is often only a seated curl (this is because it’s on my more quad focused leg day) 2️⃣ Everything is usually for 2-4 sets in the 6-12 rep range with at least 3 minutes of rest between each set 3️⃣ If I’m doing both a leg curl and a SLDL variation in the same workout, I’ll usually start with the leg curl. In which case, it’ll be a lying leg curl (Lying leg curls will train the hamstrings in their short position & SLDL’s will train them in their lengthened position. This leaves seated leg curls to be done on my 2nd day as the stand-alone hamstring exercise.) Some very basic info here for you. If you’re curious about how it can be implemented in a program as effectively as possible that progresses/evolves over the course of time, consider joining me in my app. I offer my own personal weekly program there. I program it all, and deliver it to you. I take care of all of the planning - all you do is show up, and put in the work. Click the link above to learn more!
Davis!! I have an important question. My gym does not have seated ham curl machine, only a lying one. Will lying ham curls + SLDLs/RDLs be enough to grow all of my 4 hammies?? Also although machine in my gym doesnt have a seated variation, I can adjust it a bit to stretch my hams a tiny bit more than usual, but I dont think it can compare to a seated one even when highly adjusted.
@@eriops4959 absolutely it will. I typically will do a lying hamstring curl and an SLDL on my hamstring focused day. It’ll work like a charm for you. I seated leg curl would be nice to have. But honestly I just put it to you this way. If you train as hard as you can doing lying leg curls and SLDL’s, you’ll get your hamstrings as developed as you could ever hope for. It all just takes years of hard work. You’ll come across a seated leg curl machine eventually I’d imagine at some point in your life. Just work with what you have (which is all you really need) and stay consistent. Hope this helps you ✊🏼
@@DavisDiley thanks a lot! Also I can kind of adjust my lying ham machine a bit by putting something where my pelvis rests. This way my hips are higher up but feet stay on same spot. I tested it today and it worked nice, my hips were bent at ~90 degree angle, so I think I can kind of do "seated" ham curls. For the record, are seated ham curls enough to hit all ham muscles?
I have a question I saw the straight leg deadlifts on another video and wanted to try them out. While doing them I don’t feel any strain in my hamstrings but I feel stiffness and a lot of strain n my back. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to prevent of fix this? I working out at home cause I’m only 15 and can’t drive yet so I don’t have really any other ways to train hamstring’s except of curls but that’s all so looking for tips and on the straight leg deadlift ft so I have at least two hammy exercises
Your content is exceptional. The exercises are basic and make sense; their presentation, however, is spectacular. Blessings and Respect from Canada 🙏🍁✊🏽
Thats why I love his channel. Don’t care for anyone else. Don’t even understand why people go out and purchase someone else’s routine/guide when Davis gives his out for free. I’d rather support him for that and all the reasons of why he make this channel.
Man as a medicine student i have to say its really pleasing to see someone applying so such detailed anatomy knowledge in workout videos, very helpful and professional, keep it that way!
Man, the visuals are clean. The info is bitesized, easy to follow, logical and the visuals enhance the effect. Your voice is collected, calm and conveys the message effectively. You've got this down to a science
Some say 3, some say 4. It just depends on how technical you want to be with it. I like to say 4 because it helps distinguish the functions of the biceps femoris long and short head. Hope this helps!
i’ve been training for almost 7 years now and your videos have completely changed my approach to specified muscles. i’m learning so much and these clips are so well edited. thanks man you’re one of the best
Good to see someone giving out, factual, considered educated advice, some of the videos on RUclips are just so misinformed and misguided it's unbelievable .
This guy proves that going to the gym and doing exercises isn't the way to grow a physique. You really have to be more systematic and consistent for your workouts. Huge respect davis❤
Davis you are just simply awesome ❤ The way you explain makes life more easier great motivator. Keep doing more videos but please don’t commercialize so that no body can access it. It’s like spreading education 😊👍🙏
Please do a RDL vs Stiff Legged DL. I can never know the difference because the internet makes all their own interpretations of either exercise. I’d like you to go over the form and which/how muscles should feel during eccentric/concentric motions. I find your page the most useful because of how descriptive and detailed your demonstrations are.
Powerlifter here, hamstring are one of the most important muscles for overall strength. I train them hard with compound movements, RDLs, GHR, Good Mornings, Inverse Curls, etc.
This is hands down the best hamstring video I've ever watched. You made it so easy to understand how they work and gave us easy-to-follow ways to train them. Thank you!
The chains metaphor is such a good idea. That clicked for me. Hamstrings are my worst muscle and RDL’s are the worst exercises. Even when I do them w good technique (less back pain and plenty hammy activation) it just takes so much mental work to make the “mind muscle connection” fr.
You are making some of the best fitness content on the site, thank you for showing me some new forms and ideas for the gym! I hope I can incorporate these movements and get that size 💪
Your videos are the one I love the most. They are short, informative and make it easier to target certain muscle at a gym. I really appreciate you man Keep your videos going
He forgot to mention one thing: while doing hinges, if you put your right index finger on your bottom lip and say "oopsie" while staring someone directly in the eyes it adds +5 Strengths 💪

Bro could make me think calves will work hamstrings so I don't have to do hamstring curls.
the edits in this are unmatched, i love how anyone can easily visualize the muscles and see for themselves how they work during different exercises
yeah but theres a thunder storm inside that gym tho...

Best gym videos on youtube hands down.👌
Thanks so much
Some of Bullshit exercise that Nobody needs for big Legs
I didn’t even know I had 4 hamstrings
I didn't even know I had to position my feet in a certain way on top of that

You don't. You have 4 muscles that give the generic name "hamstrings", not 4 hamstrings.
@@DaniloDanny77 how many fingers you got?
@@thatoneguy9816 you don't have any. you have 10 appendages that give the generic name "fingers" 🤓

I LOVE that you used the band to explain where the muscle fiber runs, super creative but could use some kinda “*key” type note at the start🔥🔥

What Davis does better than anyone else is explain what you should be thinking about to ensure a strong mind muscle connection. Love it.
I am using your videos to study for my N.A.S.M corrective exercise certification. Thank you. You videos are some high quality education.

I feel as if im being ticked by a feather around the entire area when I push up
Go see a doctor
Just tight nerves, stretching put will lengthen them
That means you're doing it right👍
I agree with his exercise selection. Love that he doesn’t introduce nonsense like bands
The fact that you can actually see each of his like that is wild. Good for teaching too
By far the most informative workout video on any platform. Thank you Davis
Using the band is such a nice touch to the new crop of videos.
