  • ChatGPT is once again apparently plagiarizing the NYT, and in a unique way, I must add. This time, it is plagiarizing the content from a website that's plagiarizing it from the New York Times. While I'm not sure what the legal implications of this are, the technological implications are certainly interesting, as I discuss in this video.

ChatGPT is already used to search for answer using the web. (I have already seen people around me do that) It's where those pictures came from. We can see that it takes and show content from those websites.
The NewYorkTimes is right for suing them after reporting that chatGPT is tacking content from a website that stole their content because it means that chatGPT is stealing their content using an intermediate. If you know that you are doing something wrong and don't change anything, you are in fault. Ignoring reports shouldn't save you.

It falls under fair use. Let the court decide not random dudes on media.
