It's a strange world when we need to listen to a Norwegian band in order hear some of the best performances of our favourite American music!!! You all are fantastic❤
The best bluegrass I have ever listen to so authentic, synchronous, talented and creative group of musicians With love and so much gratitude Patrick Conlon, Cape Coral, Florida
When you click your way through a RUclips tunnel and end up on amazing. I live in New Hampshire USA and was taken aback when I realized this wasn't from here. Crazy good 🎶👍
Came here looking for an accompaniment to Poor Wayfaring stranger for a recital. Found this band and I am mesmerized. They have converted me to bluegrass. The hadronizations, her lovely voice and the band's precision on every instrument make something special.
To the hills of Oregon, most exceptional bluegrass band I have ever heard. Crisp, clear, and true to the their art . The voices echoes pure folk music. Don't ever let dark mainstream change who you are and what you stand for. To the true music that carrys all are hearts to who we are! Thank You...
As a swede I am happy this music reaches from west to east, from north to south. Music is a place at home for all of us, but we can enjoy it even if it is not our usual cup of tea. In this, the place is Virginia or Kentucky, but when we hear this band is from Norway, the place can be anywhere. I am so happy about this! Music is something that brings us together, and this Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra proves that it is so.
How could any one not Love this band, 5 people gave this video a thumbs down. They. Must not know any thing about what constitutes Great Music, because this is GREAT MUSIC. Thing
From Oklahoma, USA. Diamonds in the rough! Never let mainstream mainstream you!! Your grassroots purity, talent and individual ways are what speak to me! Ordering the CD album off Amazon!! Music for my soul, heaven to my ears! Love the gospel songs! In my prayers. :)
This band got me through the pandemic (so far) Gratitude! I am 60 years old this year and a new addition to my bucket list is to able to sit or stand because I would like to dance, in a small venue in Olso watching this band, a bunch of accomplished Norwegian musicians playing Bluegrass. I love this band.
WOW !!! You all are awesome!!! That’s what everyone here says when they hear you all. Come see us here in the Smokies of Western North Carolina sometime. We would love to have you.👍
As someone who grew up in southern WV -- I cannot believe how they get the accents perfect! Because after all, it is not standard English really, often: I think of all the movies when the regional accents are so mishandled, and have been totally amazed how they just consitently get it right -- especially since how far removed rural and southern and southern mountain accents are from Norwegian.
I can only imagine the electricity in the air attending this live performance. It’s a different groove when it’s live and you have the group and dynamics of the crowd. And, after the intermission, I mean, it’s on fire until the end.
Every now and then a door opens up in my very full world of sound. Oh my God this is goooooood! I can not get my mind around the voice changes, from Nordic to Appalachian and back again. Bluegrass huh? Seriously this is a whole new world of deep fried, Scandinavian goodness.
Austin City Limits needs to bring this group in. Great stuff. My music group likes blues and rock but this got attention in spades. Never had that happen before!
Absolutely love all of this but the best was saved for last, wayfaring stranger. Must have listened to it at least a 100 times while driving. The cry in the vocals and the fiddle gives me chills and brings me to tears every time.
Extremely good singers! Someone added “ All my Tears “ on my cousin’s funeral in Libya. She was a nurse there and died alone of COVID. I’m so happy I found this group ❤️
One can not help but hang onto every note Rebekka sings as the back up have perfect harmony and the instruments blend in perfect balance. SUPERB. OUTSTANDING. Looking forward to CD.
My 87 year old classical music loving Dad loves Bluegrass ( he just likes good voices and proper instruments), I was playing this and it stopped him in his tracks.
A musicologist will tell you there is not that much difference between Baroque and Bluegrass. Look at interviews with young up and coming Bluegrass kids. They will talk about Bach or "yea I know, I need to work on my Bach more" to the interviewer. The head of The Tallahassee Bach Parley used to play Irish Fiddle with Ned Divine's. She will throw a little fiddle in on a Bach performance whenever she can. She always gets a grin and a big thumbs up from me whenever she does.
This wonderful music doesn’t surprise me...I spent 2 weeks in Norway...love, love, love the people....their music speaks of the originals who came to Appalachia from Europe...who brought their music and turned it into a distinct sound so that we here who are transplants from other countries can assimilate and enjoy our sounds of love together....that is what music is...love...great job...I just love your renditions of music brought to other shores and taught to grow on new lands...💕🙏🏻namaste
Bravo, bravo, bravo! Moa's fiddle is beyond description. Rebecca has the voice of an angel... I wish I could express it better because words are not enough...
The dobro style guitar was devised in the 1920s as a guitar loud enough to compete with brass instruments in bands -- before electronic amplification. The thought was they would tolerate the distinctive sound for the benefit of volume. The irony now nearly a century later is the dobro is kept alive for that distinctive sound.
Absolutely beautiful renditions of these songs. The range of emotion evidenced is awesome. Although Ms. Nilsson's voice is beautiful the entire band is wonderful. The composition is flawless. As a guy from Pineville Kentucky, these guys and gals cause grins, laughs, and tears.
You guys are such a great bunch of musicians both vocal and instrumentally , the two women harmonise almost perfectly absolutely a class of your own . The singer has i unique voice that I would put right next to any singer on the planet and when she is harmonising with the violinist it is angels singing they are perfect to hear together all your harmonies are great and warfarin stranger is the best version I have ever heard the perfect voice for that song
From the foothills of North Carolina, USA, & grew up on bluegrass. You guys rendition of "Wayfaring Stranger " along with Rebekka's absolutely stellar vocals is totally mesmerising !
Hayden Bluegrass orgistra is one of the best all around bands I have ever heard. They are so tight it's hard to take my headphones off. If I had just one word to express how I feel about Hayde it's GREAT !!!
Love this! I am from Sweden, didn´t know our neighbour Norway had such a great Bluegrass band. After listening to Union Station I came across this, and now I am a fan! Between 1850 and 1930 more than one million Swedes left for America, so maybe it is some old ancestors I am listing to here, in this new form ?
I can’t remember how I stumbled upon “Wayfaring Stranger”, about a year ago by this group, but nothing is by accident. As with most people, at that time, I was experiencing a great amount of anxiety and uncertainty. When I heard that song I was addicted and started digging deeper. For the past year when ever I need to lift my spirit, raise my vibration and lighten my heart I return here to listen to this performance, and other videos by Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra. Thank you for sharing your talents with the rest of the world. We are listening.
This type of music isn't for everyone, but luckily for me,I love it! What a spectacular job y'all do! Her voice is absolutely perfect for this music! I think Mr. Monroe & the great Flatt & Scruggs would approve with a big smile & a nod of respect. ❤
Every time I listen to your music I am filled with a deep yearning, a real longing I cannot define, but y'all bring tears to my face, the music here is as good as music gets. Love and pain are the words for it, pure music. Thank you
These guys would sell so many albums if they put on a US tour. Doubt it will happen, from what I have gathered, they are all pretty career driven elsewhere. If they ever decided to make their music a priority, and really tour, the sky would be the limit in my opinion. They are the real deal, and have a wonderful story.
You are all amazing...just wow! So wonderful to hear something new after having been to numerous festivals in the States. This is the real thing! Love, love, love!
I have to say that the range of instruments and a stunning lead female vocal really sets a very high likability factor. I like you all very very much. I wish you all huge success. ROD UK
And they will ! It just depends on us to spread this nice surprise between our friends, because they will love for sure ! They deserve all the success !
I have watched previously without liking, I sincerely apologise. Last night was Christmas, I got to see this amazing group of musicians live at Leeds in England. Your talents as musicians is unquestionable, what really moved me was your warmth and time taken to speak to everyone after your concert. Thank you from the heart for one special night, I hope to see you live in the land of my father, Norgeee x
Coming from a Kentucky boy living in the heart of the Bluegrass and familiar with the music scene here- you are AMAZING! - now my favorite Bluegrass band.
From 46:50 this consert is like beeing in Blue Grass Heaven. If there is a heaven for all of us I am certain that Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra will stand for the music.
You all have caught that down home spirit that is alive and well in this music. Thank you for sharing the love of this music that never gets old. Y'all are great and please come to Tennessee when you can. I'll be there.
I listen to this video almost daily. Rebekka Nilsson's voice sends chills down my spine. I love the instrumetals. The whole performance brings light and warmth into a dark world. Thank you very much for bringing this to us.
I can't stop listening to you guys, fantastic sound, we need you here in America so everyone can hear how real music is supposed to be played, 8 professionals, bravo!!
I just discovered you today. Bluegrass and mountain music is in my blood; my family is from Kentucky and North Carolina, My great uncle Les played with Bill Monroe, and my Grampa was a Southern Baptist minister. Your music speaks to me on multiple levels. thank you. PS: I am also a musician (Bass, Guitar, Keyboards, Banjo) and have played in church for decades. So, I feel well qualified to say: You are all virtuosos.
I'm from a family of CzechoSlovaks and a clan of Sinti (north European Gypsies) and Eastern Orthodox Christian top of that but was born and raised in Mississippi as were mama and daddy and although I'm a swarthy looking Gypsy and Orthodox this music touches my soul greatly. We have the same music in Mississippi (just less banjo and more fiddle I think).
I from Bluegrass country in North Georgia and this group is FANTASTIC. Several great country singers have done Wayfaring Stranger but none have done like them.
Its great to see people from another country playing and enjoying the music I grew up with here. I love that this kind of great music is being shared elsewhere. They do such a great job that I was shocked when I found our where they are from. I thought they were from Kentucky or Virginia or some such til they spoke. lol
The great American bluegrass tradition is loved in Europe! You may be surprised, but here in Europe there is so much of American culture that we DO like. (And some we don't, of course, but hey, were only human!)
Just browsing on RUclips ,clicked onto this band and stopped and watched and stayed till the end, this band is so good and well balanced with their instruments, they really mesh and the vocals especially the lead singer are outstanding, I rest my case.Thankyou Cliff.
Fantastic!!! You guys have the best blend of instruments I've seen in a bluegrass band. The accordion is an excellent touch and is played masterfully - so reminiscent of the great music of the 60's and early 70's. The icing on the cake would be to put a tambourine in the hands of your lead singer occasionally. As we say in West Virginia, you guys are the berries!! Thanks so much for the euphoric vocals and bluegrass music you guys produce - can't get enough of it!!!
Excellent idea about adding a tambourine to the hand of the lead singer!! It would add a nice additional touch!! These guy's are fantastic!! Love them!!
Awesome ! I've listened to you for a few years just gets better and better ! I was lucky to travelled your country in the 80's all the way to Tromso south to Bergen absolutely beautiful. Thank you from Maine USA
So, all props to Rebekka, but dude on mandolin is legit! To think that these non native English speakers sound so damn good singing bluegrass is astounding. I can't believe how good y'all are. Please don't ever stop making beautiful music!
Another thought: This and other American Folk Music traditions came to us from when this country was quite young. Everybody was an immigrant, most were strangers to one another, and music was a perfect way to communicate! In short, we'd love to have you visit. Don't go back, throw in your lot with us! Ya'll won't be sorry...
This consert gets better and better all the time. It start quite timid with a slow tune. But then it accelerates in emotions and in musical fulfilment, and the second half is just something quite wonderful. All the musicians are outstanding, and the best of all is that it seems to be giving and taking between the band and the audience. I wish I was there!
As far as Rebekah, This is what Angels must sound like except there must be a lot more singing together. This is spiritual music here on earth! Man, I just love these folks!! Thank You Hayden Bluegrass.❤❤❤❤❤😂😅😊😂
I discovered Heyde Bluegrass Orchestra over a year ago. I don't know how many times I've watched this video, but I can't believe how good they are, every time I listen to their signing and playing, I'm blown away by their musicianship. Dere er utrolig flinke, jeg kan ikke slutte å høre på musikken din. Fortsett, takk for at du gir verden glede gjennom dine stemmer og instrumenter.
It's a strange world when we need to listen to a Norwegian band in order hear some of the best performances of our favourite American music!!! You all are fantastic❤

Rebekka simply does all my tears better than anyone else...ever. There simply is no competition.

Wow I can't help but wonder if you Norwegians realize what a top notch bluegrass bands these guys are!

I'm pure Appalachian on both sides and I love them

Simply blown away. They might be from Oslo but they came through Kentucky at some point, somehow, someway.
Music like this can be defined both as mathematic absolute and alchemic spiritually...
AMEN
I like the songs they borrow, Like Harlen Seems to me they do a better job than the originals .
♥️
From Tennessee, what can I say you say it so well in song
.very pleasant on my ears and my heart.

Beautiful, soul music. Blessings from South Africa from one of Gods people thanks and blessed be
That would be a gift of God if You could play in Hungary. But anywhere You play is a gift of God. Thanks
Talent deserving of a much bigger audience :D
These guys would sell so many albums if they put on a US tour. Doubt it will happen, from what I have gathered, they are all pretty career driven elsewhere. What a enormous priviledge to be seduced and swept away by your music and passion in South Africa, Strand, near Cape Town. I salute you! Kobus Traut
I agree wholeheartedly. From Gauteng South Africa Love them.❤️😍

Your talent with American traditional music is amazing! I am surprised you are not American because you obviously get it.
I really like this group. I think they have a bright future in Bluegrass music. Rebekka's voice is amazing. It's as beautiful as she is.
Got that right...Rebekka's vocal range is amazingly beautiful!
I have to say that the range of instruments and a stunning lead female vocal really sets a very high likability factor. I like you all very very much. I wish you all huge success. ROD UK

Ya'll won't be sorry...
All my tears is so beautiful the way you sing it. Wow Thank you plus the violin is Awesome in that end song. All my tears. Bravo
So, this was recorded on my 70th birthday. Awesome! Thanks for the wonderful b birthday present!
As far as Rebekah, This is what Angels must sound like except there must be a lot more singing together. This is spiritual music here on earth! Man, I just love these folks!! Thank You Hayden Bluegrass.❤❤❤❤❤😂😅😊😂
You guys should really consider cutting this up and uploading it to Spotify - it's such a great concert, and the audio quality is excellent
