The comments on this video are gold. I only leave this up for the memories and continuity for those who watch my older content from 2017-2019. Could I have fixed the car? Absolutely. But it was a money pit. Bought a brand new GTI after the S40 and have had no regrets since.
What you are listing are common issues with a used car with 66000 miles on it. The Volvo S40 has a terrific engine and will run for a million miles but this car just like most cars has a few issues. I have a 2007 with 225000 miles on it and it had similar issues but I fix this issue and roll on for another 100,000 miles plus before I have to replace it again. It's actually a very good car. My only complaint is the fact that you cannot replace the factory radio easily with aftermarket and the fact that Volvo started discontinuing trim parts way too early
Agreed. I bought an '04 t5 and I love it. Spirited handling with great acceleration. Timeless styling keeps it current and BMW drivers definitely no what you have. Also like you, I have issues with volvo basically discontinuity replacement parts including r design upgrades. Nevertheless, I love my little ride!
i own 2007 volvo s40, after one year of ownership, I upgraded the sound system, installed bluetooth with AUX port, fixed power steering, coolant hoses that are cracked.. Otherwise mechanically speaking the car has very soild engine and transmission, comfort and simple interior, timeless exterior design lines. stable and safe..
Wow this guy, so much complaints. I bought a used volvo too. It takes some understanding firstly, it is generally above the board with features and safety and with that comes maintenance and as usual and some understanding of the electronics. Complaints will get you nowhere
I got mine 2004 model over 6 years now, bought it with 220K kilometers. The costs I had to replace things was minimal compared to my previous cars. Very reliable car. It has now around 270K kilometers, still going strong (knock on wood).
The issues you mentioned are fixable. It's a worthwhile investment. any other car with the same issues you would send it to the junkyard. Volvo never left me stranded but one time the radiator neck cracked from age. that was at 98K miles though. These cars last forever.
I was looking for some good solid info on VolvoS40 cars and there was some mixed in but cut the video way short due to the constant yakking about nothing of any importance!
My friend, the problem is not the car, the problem is you. You don't know how to buy used cars, simple as that. Business is not done on emotion, and much less when buying a used car. And even with proper care, used cars can have problems. If you don't want problems, buy a new car. But if you don't have the money to buy a new car, wait, be patient to buy a used car or save enough money so you can buy a new car.
every brand and every car has hater and lover. they all have their own reasons, so we should respect every car lover and understand. Im thinking own a S40 T5 and thanks for your opinions:)
Focus and bad driving. Mean one thing the guy didn't had a clue of what or how to fix the issues. Maintenance is a thing. Or better yet it should be! ;-) For all the faults on the Focus. Road behavior is supposed to be among the best among its peers. Clueless! Edit: Now came to the Volvo part... same, same. For Christ sake! Please learn what and/or how to do it. BTW My Volvo V50 do have passenger seat adjustments. Get the model with the features you want. It's way better than bitching about the lack of.
My man you are very lucky you haven’t bought Saab. To be honest issues you have mentioned are absolutely not issues but rather you not maintaining your car. This is a very very reliable car. I hope you will buy something that will make you regret 😂😂😂
The likelihood of me regretting moving on from the S40 would be never. It’s been 5 years since selling it and the only times I think about that car is when people comment on this video lol
I just had the EXACT PROBLEM IT WAS a connection in the cylinder 1?!?I think that's what he said but I'd go over 65 mph and it would shake now that's gone make sure too use 93 gas
Tuviste problemas sencillos y solucionables y por eso te Vas. A deshacer de tremendo auto? Deberías haber comprado un okm si no querías problemas que por el uso de cualquier auto vas a tener
To call the Volvo S40 a "tremendous car" is a stretch. Almost 4 years later I don't miss this car one bit. It was the wrong choice for me right from the start, and I'm more than happy with I bought to replace it

He’s wrong. It’s for me the best car ever. This car is advanced 20 years in design and technology. Love Volvo !!
Couldn’t agree more 🎉
Definitely. I have a 2004 S40 and it never lets me down.
I got the same model for 4 years without any of your problems. Unlucky mate

I was looking for common issues and how to fix it and I ended here. Looks like this is a sign to finally say goodbye to my Volvo S40 as well.

THIS GUY KNOWS NOTHING about cars, ZERO
I'd probably care more if you didn't remind me just how happy I am I don't own that car anymore

Ok
This is the guy that causes every mechanic in the shop to hide in the bathroom when they see him pulling in the lot……
Oh please. The car was a POS with a number of problems that could have easily been fixed if I didn’t hate the damn thing.

Kind of hard to fix the AC when I haven't seen this car in 3 years...
