Valley Crest Mentoring Yard Plantings: 2020 Update

NWNJBA has a standing agreement with Valley Crest farms to host a beekeeping teaching yard. Last year a number of NW volunteers helped with seeding and planting the field with a tailored wildflower mix and this is a quick preview of the fields progress one year later. At the end of the clip, you can see some of NW's mentoring yard hives inside the bear fence.

We need a lot more little fields like that around the country side. I have 3 hives on a field like that in MN and the bees are doing great. It helps the Monarch, native pollinators and the honey bees plus a host of other critters.

When I was a child there were dozens of wildflower meadows in the village where I live, now there are none and the village is now a town.
