This needs a re done, after so many year with out new buildings. LA went all out these past for years...the sky line look nothing alike since 5-10years ago....also would love chronological
And for some odd reason skyscrapers weren't a thing after 2000. I get the years between 2008-2013 but come on two skyscrapers within 2 decades? lol. Meanwhile New York is a metropolis of skyscrapers now.
@@randybadillo1144 what about china they have earthquakes and nothing is stopping them from making some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world. I know that building code is different there, but we have the technology to create earthquake resistant skyscrapers
My dad was a LA probation officer then..his office was downtown and he'd take me with him ..earliest I recall was when I was in 1st grade so '61ish...I left socal in mid 80s..it sure changed over the years
Mario Mario It's missing lots for some reason. Even at just 200 feet and over there have been maybe 15 in just the last 5 years and quite a few of those are over 500 feet.
You put a regular TV/Radio antenna on top of the Library Tower, it goes back to being the tallest building in California. Even though the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco seems taller if you compare them side to side.
Bro we take it as a compliment The Dodgers, The Rams any L.A. team in sports or just a normal civilian here just knows that's something that means we're better. 😐

Wilshire Grand spire doesn’t count. Third after US Bank and Salesforce in SF. I have spoken. Now stop with the flat roofs and under 1000’. Build something monumental before I move away.
You need to re-do it chronologically!!!!
cloverfield911 That's what I thought this video was showing.
Agreed
“Hey, look at this cool building from 2010! Oh yeah and here’s one from 1972 I forgot to tell you about.”
Yeah, strict chronological order would have been nice.
As a European outsider, the first thing I think of when I think of "LA" is the US Bank Tower. It's so iconic on the skyline.
Me too
If we could just go in order
Oms video woulda been so raw if they did it like that
@@ChiggaChase It only makes sense to show it in the correct order...
I appreciate the video but the fact that you couldn't illustrate the "evolution" properly really annoyed me.
I mean at the very end of the video it sorta does but I agree.
you guys need to do this one like you did the New York one I love the animation of it
Cool Video! In the mid 80's i washed some of this progress from my Apt's balcony in the westlake area.
Great idea BUT a quick review of the video prior to downloading would have exposed the errors.
You need to increase the DPI and make it in order of highest Yelp ratings...Syke. Great video!

The white 3d text over the light colored background is not very easy to read. Something more colorful would have worked a lot better.

Would've been quite fascinating to see the 60's LA skyline today without all of those modern high risers.

WHy do you start out with the staples center in the picture? Built in 1999.
Missed chance to make it perfect: chronologically!!
Your picture makes it look like Downtown L.A. was hit by a snowstorm.
seems LA Live and Grand Wilshire are the only 2 were biult since 2001?
Nah son
why did u kinda go out of order ?
Fun fact LA have a rule that no skyscrapers can pass the height of the us bank tower
I'm pretty sure there used to be a similar rule for the town hall long ago
Makes sense.
Its a iconic Building for the city...Its like a crownd for the downtown
It seems like all the building activity went dead stagnant after 1992 for the next 15-20 years after so much activity in the previous 25-30
The 2010's saw a boom in construction. Obama and Trump were both good for the economy. 2020's should see additional buildings constructed as well.
Car culture baby, build out!
@@awbelton yep ever notice how few skyscrapers were built in the 1940s-50s when you look at a US cities list of tallest buildings
The US bank tower is still the highest building in LA. Antennas go home!

Mario Mario that’s right , I feel you man , I love downtown but I hate the wilshire grant Tower for some reason

Grand Wiltshire is not the tallest. Open your eyes. If I put a stovepipe hat on, it doesn’t make me the tallest guy in the room.
This seems to miss a number of buildings currently under construction in the Southern part of DTLA.

Where is Nakotomi plaza!!!!!

This video shoots itself in the foot by not showing the evolution chronologically
This video should’ve been order
It’s about time it evolved
Imagine having a twin tower but from Sydney only sane details but change to location in a vacant carpark

Can you make one of my city?
I guess everyone is supposed to know what city you are talking about
Grand whilshire looks like Avengers Tower
The video would have been so much better if it went in chronological order, unlike this hodgepodge order.
umm us bank tower was built in 1990 as it was in a lot of movies in the 80s like stand and deliver which was filmed in 1988.
not the best but I understand its your first so you win this round (:
?
I want to share this so bad but it’s not in chronological order
From 1997 to Fantasy.

Your Indonesian, right??
No one knows Matahari store outside our country, man...

I saw the U.S.Bank tower before it rosed.
We call it the Library tower here. And I remember what used to be before it was built. And not from playing video games.
What a sad state of affairs
Way off, I grew up in LA. The bank building was for sure build before 1987 or 8
It was finished in 1989 opened in 1990
