first game in norway, it said beitostalen on the sign which is a semi famous ski town, hence I knew it. They do skiing world cup competitions there etc
You're a nice young man. I always watch your videos. When I have a bad day, your face cheers me up and I feel a little less depressed. Like the other day, me and my gf were fighting. I left the house angry and headed to the park feeling like strangling a swan, but instead I sat on a park bench and watched one of your videos. No one was strangled that day. Not even my girlfriend. Thanks Zig.
holy shit your second channel is a literal goldmine, can't believe I didn't know about it. Thanks for the great educational content!!

A green number plate like that on a van in Norway is most likely that its registered as a working vehicle for tradesmen like plumbers and carpenters. Then you pay less taxes than regular cars as they only have one row of seats.
Really appreciate your recent instruction videos, and the way you take the time like here to walk folks though a lot of rounds - it really helps! The humility is refreshing. Well done.
11:37 As someone from California, I knew immediately that this was Mexico from the church architecture. It's very familiar and reminds me of California missions built by the Spanish.
This is so awesome! I noticed that play along videos are an amazing way to learn, and I can't believe your second channel is right there, with hours upon hours of content. I will tear right into that! Thank you so much for making this! I've scored terribly on most of these on my own (~15k each), I am really bad at non-european non-urban areas. I hope I will learn a lot from you! PS: What addons are you using? They seem really neat.
For the Norway round, I was able to get more points hedging near Lillehammer. I don't actually know much about Norway but I remembered that the Winter Olympics were once held in Lillehammer, which I reasoned probably means that that region has a lot of ski and tourist infrastructure.
Late here, but regarding more clues on the Norway round: The sign on top of one of the buildings (8:56) says "Jotunstogo". I think it can be worthwhile to remember the word "Jotun". It refers to "Jotunheimen" which is a mountain range and a national park in Norway (right next to where this round is, "Beitostølen"). I mean it's obscure knowledge on a world-basis, but they use the word "Jotun" a lot out there, so it could make for some great region guesses on mountainous rounds like this where you risk going north and losing thousands of points.
Do you mean the electric power plates? If that’s what you mean, the more specific tip there is that the combination of the Tohuku plate and a horizontal NTT plate is found in the Niigata prefecture.
Thoughts of a 850 rating. Challenge 1: Score 20.6k. Bad CDMX guess ruined my score. I knew it should be coastal due to the palms but didn't really know where. I should have read the name of the bus and scanned. Challenge 2: Score 16.1k. Argentina was really hard for me but I feel like I'd get it next time (Brazil). Romania round was impossible for me without seeing the holy poles (Spain). At least I killed the NZ round. (29 miles) Challenge 3: Score 21.6k. I knew the 9 in Chile. Got Serbia, no antenna helped. Beat you in Japan but the Thailand guess was too good to beat you. GGs
For the first latino-american round the main thing that spoke to me were the antennas. The angle was steep, and to the south, so I immediately knew we have to be in northern Mexico.
For some reason I did really well here (23,439 pts), probably because I knew much less than you, I wasn't tricked by the vegetation in Russia and just clicked south of Moscow ^^ Knowing too much is sometimes a curse 😅
9:34 with those blocks having thie cut at the top and the wheel of the Volkswagen pretty much perfectly fitting in there it looks like a real life texture clipping bug >.
You: looks at everything Me: hey that looks like korean, lets go sk Interesting vid, keep it up! I got 15k for the first round. Went sk (because korean), Hungary-Romania-Serbia (because it looked eastern europe and I didn’t really have much to base it off of with my minimal knowledge), Ukraine (I knew it was Cyrillic but I just sended it for that one), Copenhagen (I could tell it was Scandinavia from the signs but I didn’t really recognize the language specifically), and finally Paraguay. Why paraguay? Idk it looked latin american and paraguay covered a lot. Really liked this play along!
it is interesting that you look at trees, poles and other things, and yet the bus in Mexico had the name of the city right on the front and you never even looked at it.
For the first one those sort of greenhouses are pretty common in Korea. Not sure where else they are common, but they are common enough that I’ve never seen a non-Korea have them
I know this video is old , but you had the russia round at 5:20 in a video from a year before this one , ruclips.net/video/Ii6ocq_kC1E/видео.html around 17:30 approximately. I watched these two videos back to back and i was like wtf lol
Game 1: took a big L, went norway on austria, got baited by all the german and insta-sent, japan on south korea and went urals for moscow, however I 5k'ed mexico (pretty much) so thats cool (CD.Obregon on the bus, figured it might've been a biggish city so scanned the east coast) Edit: Also went albania>monte, ended with 17,336
I know Russia quite well (because I live in it) and I can say that in the first round I saw this strange divider in the middle of the road only near Moscow, I'm certainly not sure, because I'm not an experienced player, but it could be a meta
that is very useful video, but sometimes you dont explain the clues. you say 'blue strips on all plates, that is useful' but you don't tell why its useful. of course most of the people know that is European Union but this is just example. more explanation would be good. great vid
For the Russia location in the first round, which pieces of information would tell us that it's specifically not Ukraine? I was a bit split, and was (evidently) baited by the blue and yellow coloring on the buildings.
hell yeah, first game done, exacly 15500 points, my best score ever (first game ever even lol) hell yeah, second game done, 5750 points, not my best guesses here, but I have not played long enough to identify the right countries. let's get into the third game. hell yeah, third game done, 9437 points, average i guess, could've definitely done better there, without overthinking the south africa one into going argentina, but alright, good practicing
Thanks for the information but how do you find the right “A diverse world map i have been looking for it for a while and it’s just been a bunch of random ones.
@@zi8gzag i got 20K on first seed, i would've gotten a 23K if not for that mexico round because i wasn't sure of the region and just went cdmx, tried to find that cd obregon thing that was on the bus but i couldn't find it, but Ciudad Obregon was the city and it was in Sonora

23,021 in R1. Ciudad Obregon was on the bus in the Mexico round, it's a pretty large city on the map.
Just got into Geoguessr, and it's so much fun! The way you talk scratches my brain in the right way so thanks hahah! Love the tips!

Last round of that first game, in Mexico - the name of the city was on that bus. It said "CD Obregon." :)

8:25 funny how you circled around Poland that uniquely uses no vertical dashes but two long horizontal lines for pedestrian crossings
20:20 - I've only seen that "spider-like" poletop a handful of times but it was always Romania.
26:00 there's also a Japanese cemetery on the hill in the background, another easy clue for country streaks.
That first see I was on pace for my best NM adw score. Then had a bad region guess in Mex

quick and easy tip for japan: if you see two horizontal plates on the poles you should be near that peninsula area and the prefectures bordering it

9:15 yo ive been right there. Kinda cool to see
Bulgaria also uses 4 pedestrian

Driving into ditches to avoid oncoming traffic is truly one of the European experiences.

For Game 3 Round 3 ours looked different. Similar but definitely not the same location. Maybe they updated the coverage?
11:50 you have place name on the bus
I beat you on the argentina, romania, montenegro and norway round :)
