Fake. Christmas already is a lot of emotional and physical work, so why would I get a real tree that's messy and hard to put up and then put away, when I could use a fake one. It's hard to put up but at least it doesnt leave a huge mess.

Most tree sales are done either at cost or for charity. Those who do it professionally have alot of competition from artificial trees and non-profit dealers. Any kind of profit is a great value to these people and offering less than asking price is a loss they can't really afford.
