  • Bob and Peter have put together a series of images of how to play and not play walking football. The aim is to play non contact walking football which is safe and fun for our team members and in line with Essex Walking Football. Please feel free to share the documents and video with other clubs

    In my opinion if a player walks round another static player waiting to receive the ball its OK. Its not coming from behind as some would say. The player waiting to receive the ball should always move to the ball avoiding the situation. Please remember that the video I created is 5 years old but still not bad as a reference. We created it with other training material for new starters. No one reads the full rules do they so a simple guide is best!!. Still the biggest problem is running. In my opinion the rule should be that any play is running if one foot is not on the ground, that is the whole bottom of the foot and not part of the foot

      @@MrBobwillis What really puzzles me - almost 8,000 views and just ONE comment. Same on our channel with 250 videos - very few comments :-) It only takes a moment !

    How about intercepting passes that involves moving in front of the intended recipient of the pass? We call it 'poaching' but sometimes the pass is so telegraphed that it's hard to resist just walking in front and taking the ball.

      Many thanks it makes things as clear as possible rather than reading the rules in detail and with the posters its suits most people. We have offered the video and posters to any team that can benefit from them. Many thanks again for your kind comments

    I'm new to walking football. I've been confused about the rules as I've been told conflicting rules. This has helped clear things up. Has anyone else had the same experience as I've had?

    • @iankeenan5658
      @iankeenan5658 3 года назад

      Probably because there are WF Laws and FA Laws that differ ! Just have to confirm what Laws are for the game you are playing

    Really hard for ref's to differentiate between fast walking with both feet "on" the floor and running

    • @MrBobwillis
      @MrBobwillis  3 года назад

      yes we would all agree, we have tried different things to make it clear but while the rule is you must have one foot on the ground its easy to be confused

      @@MrBobwillis Thanks Bob. To determine if a player just one foot on the ground in game motion is difficult to referee. Just has to be, is that player travelling too fast to be walking?

    • @MrBobwillis
      @MrBobwillis  3 года назад

      @@iankeenan5658 yes agree but if players are presented by a rule they should follow??? Ideally we need something else in the rules as it is then confusing for the players and referee. I can demonstrate with a video camera or a 360 camera at pitch level if a player has one foot or not on the ground in match play but very difficult for officials
