New CAT 440 backhoe. Are they still useful?

I grew up on case in 70s and 80s. My dad had several and used them on every job. Rubber tired backhoes are nice because if the job was in 10 miles, we would just road them. Now with skid steers and minis, you can just pull em with a pick up instead of a dump truck. There pretty nice. I still have a case 590 plus my mini and skid. If i need to pack material and have some digging, ill take tge backhoe
