Просмотров 904Месяц назад
Hey everyone! I am very excited to show what I think could be one of the most significant dozers in the history of dozer development. The D6H! I ran across this one on an equipment yard and had to share. Enjoy! #heavyequipment #caterpillar #d6 #dozer #constructionequipment #caterpillarequipment #diesel #digger #bulldozer

Wacker skid steer review. ST31 overview and specs
We love this truck too! 🤩 That one is in spectacular shape!
2012 and 2011 was hard years for cat. you gotta give them credit, though they realize there was a problem and they got the heck out of there
CAT agreed to only build vocational trucks that would not compete with Navistar highway truck sales. Customers had asked for a truck built with CAT parts and quality. The original plan was for CAT to supply the short block, and Navistar would put their cylinder head on it. But Navistar said the CAT short block was too expensive. The engine was German with Bosch components. The CT15 engine had a 5 valve cylinder head. The Navistar CEO told engineering to meet emissions without SCR (def). They had a smog waiver for several years but finally the feds said stop, it is never going to pass smog in this form. The engine was hard to work on (serviceability). The high soot level to attempt to meet interim tier 4 was too high, (all manufactuers) and plugged the cooler passages. I believe the Australian model trucks actually had the CAT ACERT engines. The Navistar CEO was canned for this fiasco not meeting emissions. Navistar is now Traton, owned by Volkswagen.
What kind off Fuzzie driver has lived in that cabine!?
What's "pretty cool" about the interior? Looks like a dusty dump truck interior with a messy driver. Real cool.
It is real cool. Thanks for watching
I worked at an Australian CAT dealer in earthmoving but Ive been around trucks all my mechanic life. When released here in 2010 I always said the CT630 was the Sterling replacement for the 2000's but the level of Navistar electronics was one thing that made the platform difficult with configuration and control over software and programming ecm's a hurdle for traditional cat techs and maybe that was a lack of training and understanding! I am finding it a novelty to spot CAT ON-HWY TRUCKs for my FB group of the same name! I often point owners, operators and repairers to the dealer who sold the most of the trucks when they were available I will also make a post for your video too as we did not get the CT660 or 680!
Miss those 350 size dozers
The perfect size dozer. I operated one for a long time.
This thing still a hundred grand? Ik it was back couple years ago idk if they managed to get costs down
$110,000 now I think.
It has a Mack dash and interior.anyway go sit behind a C-15 6nz. And tell me which has more power and torque torque
Know cat is trying to get into the pick-up market and try to build the best heavy duty
They were a heavy truck
Love the slowmo flybys!!! Good looking machine!
I have two of these machines (909 and 9035) which I have put a lot of hours on and they run great! If I needed to purchase another excavator tomorrow it would definitely be a Liugong.
Your video editing is top notch. Good work!
Thank you sir! I think it’s mediocre at best but I’m trying to improve. I really appreciate the comment
I drove one of these POS for a company outta Jeffersonville Indiana. The worst thing about them was the Eaton Fuller transmission. The computer never talked to the transmission and would leave you gearless in the middle of intersections all the time Most dangerous vehicles ive ever driven.
Nice piece of history. Unfortunately with disappointing results. Shows you where sometimes "staying in your own lane" is the best way to go!
Love the videos I really enjoy the history that you give on each machine instead of just listing specs. Not an operator myself but I’ve been an equipment nerd and enjoy the background of each model that you give in your videos (when they debuted, the model evolution, etc.) Look forward to the next!
Thank you so much!!! Best comment! I do appreciate it.
They made like 4 different style cab models I believe.. I think these first with the sloped hood. Then these with a straighter hood the c680. Also a aero sleeper and a c681 which is very similar.. I like the looks of them..
I’ve never seen the sleeper cab one. I didn’t even know they made that I’ve got to try to find one.
@@theIronmerchant I think it's called the ct630.. it's decent looking for one of those sleeper aero highway trucks. It's probably just based off an international prostar or a freightliner cascadia or something.. I think I've only ever seen them in Australia.. also I'm not sure but I think I might have seen one or two of the ct660s or ct680s with a sleeper cab put on the back. But if so they're probably not connected to the truck cab on those ones..
Max force 13 junk
Man I remember wanting a daycab CT660 in yellow so bad when they first launched. I loved the design of them in general. The way the hood just slanted downwards with the front fenders, it looked truly next gen. Hopefully in a few years I’ll pick one up off of TruckPaper. Just to own it and use it for daily driving. Friend of mine used to work at cat dealership and I would occasionally ride with him in some of their 660’s. He worked in the undercarriage department so he knew the undersides of the CT Series like the back of his hand.
Cause in my opinion def screwed up alot of things that could have been even better
If cat hadn't been forced to follow all those def regulations like the other's did no telling what we could have been blessed with
These where built at the former Navistar plant in Garland, Texas. I kmoew because I worked there and built them. They where based on the International 5000 truck.
junk.. blew oil tube out all the time . leaked oil.air lines kept popping off, brake valves blew out more then once had to replace exhaust.hood clynder ripped out of hood. hyd pump for bed bleew internal. windshields leaked. all lesss then 190 k miles
There was exactly one where I live, it spent more time in the shop then it did on the road, part of that was dealer issues. People were watching to see how it worked out before anyone else bought and well a truck that literally spent more time being towed to the dealer then working, well if you were watching that would you buy one?
I know several people that sell trucks. For years most of them pushed the cat engine. Then cat decided to get into competition with the company's that was selling the cat engine for them. 4 of the guys that I know wouldn't sell cat engines anymore and cat quit building truck motors!
My father operated d8s d9 d6 d5 d4 and d3's for 56 years all cat equipment mostly.
I remember Quinn CAT Rentals had them in their fleets/yards pulling Dovetail lowbeds in the Rental business before switching out to the Kenworth T880. Always wanted to drive one.
a cat pick up 200 grand
If only CAT sold base model 3/4 or 1 ton trucks without any frills lol
Very informative video. My local CAT/Challenger AG dealer had all CAT service trucks in the 2011-2017 time frame. I have filmed a yellow CAT day cab hauling corn. New subscriber. Keep up the good work.
Wow I’m a big fan of yours! We watch your channel on our tv at home. My kids love your stuff! Thanks so much for the kind words!
I'll let you know soon. Getting a new one at my job. Used to running a 980k.
That would be great. I’m genuinely curious if it’s that much of a difference
@@theIronmerchant they currently have a 475 komatsu and it's hydrostatic. Not a fan of it at all. It's not balanced at all and extremely jerky. Will let you know how I like the 972. Supposedly it's extended boom so it's a xe? I'm not sure yet
Automatic transmissions were not necessary and Allison. There was actually a cat transmission in them as well. Known as a cx31, and basically the only part of the truck actually built by cat if equipped.
They are cool & rugged engines :) gotta love cat
I don’t know why they had such a cluster - - - - because Hendrickson Trucks Made it work well they Bought their cabs from I H Hendrickson Prefered Detroit or Caterpillar over cummins when I started my driving career no one had Hs anymore my contact was rideing with my Dad company he was with had them and as a kid I figured on my own that they used 2076 A FleetStar cabs you could tell by looking at them and the give away was on the Keys the I H symbol LOL the one I cannot figure out is what is on Mack keys ?? Briggs &Stratton lawn mower engines ????????
From someone who drove International trucks for about 5 years, those are the cheapest piece of shit money can buy.
The first on road CAT truck to be sold in the world is owned by SRT Logistics in Tasmania, Australia. I see it on the road occasionally still working. Same as an International ProStar.
I drove a cat water truck in Florida
We have to CT660Ls they are ALRIGHT trucks from the get go. One has a CT13 paired to a CX31, another a CT15 paired to an Eaton 18 speed. The CT13 is a pos. Absolutely no power even after being deleted; wiring harness has issues due to being routed right above the valve cover (heat issues I guess) and the truck can barely pull any hills. It’s really just a hot mess and it’s only got 138k on it. Our CT15 is a unit, once all the 13 letter shit spreader emissions are removed it’s a tank. Ours has 430k and was previously owned by a cat dealer. It’s great. From my understanding the ct15 was a true cat motor unlike the ct13.
theres one of these thats a roll off truck in my city
Great idea. Absolute pos in real life. These things were a nightmare
I was still in middle school when these things came out and even back then the first time I saw one I immediately recognized it as an International. Kinda disappointing, but also a really neat part of truck history.
Jeez i remember seeing these alot in my area around 2012 last i saw one was in 2023
They are fading out of existence. It’s almost impossible to get any of the interior parts anymore
I had read somewhere that when Caterpillar decided to make these trucks through IH, the Cat design team fought over whether they should only be painted Cat YELLOW, or open it up to customers choice of paint colors....
Oh man, look at all of them Ford parts! 😂 you forgot to walk around it while talking about it. All you did was show 1/3 of the cab and one shot of the engine.
Video game grader.😅 no knobs or a steering wheel.
Not as good as Kenworth or Mack.
It looks like a fisher price toy. Sure looks arent everything, but really, they are. Thats why people tolerate kenworth with their sh1tshow electronics.
