Do they think being gay is inherently more sexual than being straight? Actually, when it comes to Disney Channel, there has been a show called 'Andi Mack' in which one of the main characters came out as gay and got together with his friend. It was very interesting to see how much they were pushing for it (the creator and both of the actors who played the gay guys) and actually achieved something.
Sad Fact: Alberto had about 300+ marks on his wall, so we realize he's been alone for approx 1yr. Maybe longer since he said he stopped after a while. Somebody give that baby a hug!!
@A Channel With No Meaning Whatsoever This is highly unlikely, as it would be about 8 years if I'm correct, and that would mean he's been there since he was about... 6 or 7. I don't think even his dad would be that cruel, though who knows.
What always got me heated about these straights dismissing us and saying, “tHe DirEctor SaId iT wAsN’t GaY, sO iT’s NoT.” is that they don’t know a damn thing about “artistic intent” vs. “aesthetic interpretation” in media. Art and media are subjective, so it’s entirely in the hands of the audience AND its creators to interpret or define a piece’s meaning. Just because Luca wasn’t an explicitly stated QUEER coming-of-age tale/QUEER romance/QUEER journey of self-discovery ON THE SURFACE, does not mean it doesn’t provide a thematic skeleton for queer people to project on and make connections to; leaving room to interpret it as a LGBTQ+ story. I mean, come on now, I was practically seeing myself/relating to nearly every important scene and line of dialogue throughout the whole movie! RUclipsr La’Ron Readus did a fantastic job of analyzing the movie and its themes, but yeah. It warmed my heart and reassured me that I wasn’t going crazy when myself, Zzavid, and other LGBTQ+ people saw the themes and parallels.
I mean it truly baffles me how people (mostly straight) get so defensive over certain films and throwing in the whole but they’re kids, stop bringing sexuality into this and I’m just like gurl, first of we’re not talking about filth for god sakes. Like I knew who I was at a very early age. So for people to dismiss others experiences like that, it just pisses me off. And I get some people refuse to see it that way and that’s fine. Just don’t dismiss others views on it cuz at the end of the day, we can interpret it however we damn please…. And yes this movie is definitely gay, and fabulous
@@zzavid5911 The creator said that this movie was about friendship and is his story from childhood about him and his friend. Exactly! I sort of experienced this with my sister, which really sucked. Her internalized homophobia really showed itself when she called it “messed up” when she heard that people kept calling the film gay or the dynamic of the two main characters were more than friends. I was really happy about how people saw it too. But it really upset me whenever people think of two kids being gay, she thinks it’s “messed up”. I love how you talked about that bond between friends. It IS a magic thing and time. I'm 55, and God blessed me with one of those friends in the last couple of months. He's 26, and our friendship (and it is one hundred percent friends and nothing more) is a thing I'll never forget
The queen has finally posted 😩🤚🏻!!! I have also noticed that Disney movies get better every year the quality is just soooooo good but of course the OG Disney movies are THE BEST 🤌🏻
The ending of the movie is. My heart. Okay I’ve rambled about it so many times but. The island represents Luca’s freedom, but Alberto’s prison. “You got me off the island Luca. I’m okay.” You got me away from the worst part of my life. I was trapped, and left behind, but you kept coming back. Also, this is the first time Alberto admits he doesn’t know something. Before he would say “I know what’s best” or play it off with a joke. But when Luca asks him what the handshake means, he says he doesn’t know. But he knows Luca wants to know, so he wants Luca to find out. “Go find out for me will ya?” Which is even the name of the final track, that scene. They hold onto each other until they can’t anymore, because they were, for the longest time, all each other had. But they have to let go. And Alberto cheers Luca on. Luca keeps looking back to where Alberto was even when he can’t see him anymore. But then he looks over to the island. The place he first felt free, yes, but he needed to leave the island behind. Because Alberto needed to leave the island behind. So he looks back to Alberto one last time, wipes his tears, smiles, and turns towards where the train is headed, towards the future. His memories of Alberto will remain, so he doesn’t have to look back to him anymore. Just. The symbolism. The emotion. The bittersweet- they’ll always have each other but they don’t have to be together to know that.
Raya and the Last Dragon gives me huge lesbian vibes masquerading as "Oh, she's just a princess without a love interest, like Elsa." But you can't tell me Raya and princess undercut aren't a ship. Also, it's such a small moment, but in Onward one of the stepdad's female-presenting coworkers talks about how hard it is to be a new stepparent to her girlfriend's daughter, and my jaw dropped.
You know I gotta stay looking good, especially when the camera is on💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 and I was the same way, I was even crying while I was editing like gurl I need help😭😭😭
Aww, I cried with you! I hope you watched the credits and got to see all the cute pictures that told more of the story. So amazing. And I totally think it's a metaphor for being queer and some of the struggles we go through with others and ourselves. Idc what Pixar says.
"oh, he's a top" I died oml 🤣🤣💀💀 I can see them both as friends or as more, it would for sure be cute with a sequel where Luca and Alberto started dating or something 💕
disney got some damn nerve sayin this ain't gay rep when every other damn time they'll dangle a supposed gay character in our faces like, "hi gay! our upcoming movie has the FIRST gay disney character ever so make sure u give us yr $$- oops, we mean make sure u watch it!" then the supposedly queer character is some bs like "background man #4" or "two women walking next to each other in frame for .2 seconds" or damn "lefou" bc we all know disney BEEN loving to queer code their villains. any sidenote- 11:53 love when zzavid gives us a lil wink
I for one loved this movie. As someone who comes from a “traditional” background, my parents are surprisingly supportive of all the LGBTQ+ members of my family, including me, a bisexual with a slightly-more-than-friends relationship between me and her, similar to Alberto and Luca. Also being half-Italian, I adored the moments of culture we got to see, up to the little Italian translations and of course, the food.
this film is the most times i’ve watched from pixar. i love everything about it and lowkey knew that there were something fruity between alberto and luca.
I love the theory that the term “sea-monsters” is just a way of saying that they are gay. If you look closely throughout the movie, you can see lots of things that would make sense for that theory. Also, the color palettes of Luca and Alberto are the gay flag colors, I don’t know if that’s just a coincidence or not, but I still think it isn’t. I don’t care what anyone else thinks about my opinion either, everyone has their own ways of interpreting the movie. That’s just my what I believe.❤️
Also you know the part where they're riding the red vespa together, with the other wild vespas. If you notice, the vespas are white, red and green. The italian flag. For the flag, green for freedom, white for faith and purity, and red for love. Luca and alberto are riding the only red vespa, together 🥺😭😭
I'm so happy that you posted your reaction to this movie! I'm from the place that inspired the setting (the Cinque Terre in Liguria), so I was super curious about it, but I'm also thalassophobic, so the underwater part kinda worried me. This was the perfect compromise, grazie, and your videos are always great!
They really wanna tell us that the movie doesn't have queer undertones when the song that plays during the credits is literally a love song about missing your lover lmao
the trope of found family for Alberto, Luca embracing himself, both sides of himself, his parents fearing he will not be excepted and trying to hide him away in darkness, Luca literally coming out of the ocean and learning about the world, Julia's dad saying he "was born this way." the metaphors, the hints, people are trying to shame us for sexualizing a children story when art is nothing without a viewer who interprets it, understand and relates to it. LUCA is very much representation of a queer experience and there is nothing wrong for us to relate to it.
I feel so bad for all the 10 year olds who searched for a Luca reaction and clicked on this😂

People who watched it including me : yes it is and you can't tell me otherwise
7:01 The moment I saw this scene I thought like "Zzavid would make a joke about it for sure"
LMFAOOOOO you know me too well
WHEN YOU SMELLED TO THE CAMERA, I'VE NEVER FELT SO CALLED OUT IN MY LIFE
LMFAOOOOO
This gave me so much nostalgia from when I was a kid and had my first crush. The one that got away 😭
😭😭😭😭 my poor heart was a mess after this
the voice actor for Alberto is Jack Dylan Grazer (he/they) who recently came out as bi and they said that they would love a sequel with alberto and luca getting back together and falling in love.
I am so happy for him, that’s fabulous and I absolutely loved him in we are who we are on HBO, such a good show. And wish they would do that sequel, but we all know Disney ain’t ready for all that
Everyone: Pixar finally gave us a LGBTQ+ movie.
Pixar: Now why y’all gotta make everything gay?!?!?!
LMFAOOOOO I’m telling you they just can’t step up and just make it official, cuz I can see it honey, this movie screams GAYYYYYYYYYYYY
you mean the straights
@@zzavid5911 they gotta get that conservative cash ):
@@princessmanitari4993 I'm straight and I totally ship Luca and Alberto
They got the gays excited and now we’re starting to catch on😭 as a bi girl I can smell the gay undertones in this movie
Am I the only one who loves it when Zzavid is talking and then just becomes lost in thought for a slight moment 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂 the amount of times that happens to me
Slight? 😂
It’s the way you dramatically introduced Scooby Doo 2 MONSTERS Unleashed for me 🤣🤣🤣💀
😂😂😂 that’s my movie right there🙌🙌🙌
I am a Jamaican and I love you, even though I wouldn't invite you anytime soon as we as a people still have a long way to go BUT still be aware that you have one Jamaican fan.
Thank you sooo much my luv, I really really really appreciate it
Imagine disney watching your reaction to luca hunny they will start quaking after watching this💀
🤣🤣🤣 honey they’d send a cease and desist on my ass🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
@@zzavid5911 lmao 🤣
- I know what he needs!
- Then what does he need?
- Me!
🤭
👀👀👀👀👀
THAT LINE WAS SO OBVIOUS
If that's not gay then I don't know what is 🤨
I shouldn't have been drinking hot coffee when you said the armie hammer vegetarian joke
LMFAOOOOO don’t come suing me luv, I only have 25 bucks and a metro card
Zavid: *sniffs* “you’re one of them aren’t you.”
Me: *feel seen*
LMFAOOOOO you can’t hide from me
at the end of the day, people are allowed to interpret movies, books, etc. how they please. i just hate that when some people hear that others view Luca as a "gay film", they immediately get grossed out and offended bc "they're just kids". it's like ur right....they are kids....who happen to be gay lol.
why are childhood romances only viewed as "cute" and "pure" when it's a boy and a girl?? cause god forbid you insinuate a boy x boy or girl x girl pair can exist without being perverted 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Rewatching this , and a co creator of Luca came out with art they hadn’t used for the film confirming a romantic relationship between Luca and Alberto
100/10 best luca reaction. i saw the coraline one a while back and when this one popped up i knew it was gonna be good. dude i ugly cried at "sea monster!" at "i know who they are" at "you kicked human BUTT" at the goodbye scene at the end. i was sobbing the first time oml.
This movie was so cute!! Even one of the actors who is bi irl said that he could see the subtext
Honey Stevie wonder could see the subtext in this one. And I’m so happy he came out, good for him
@@zzavid5911 😂
Zavid reconnecting with his childhood is the most wholesome thing ever ☺️
"Oh he's a top!" 🤣
😂😂😂 I’m just filth
Hell yeah I've been waiting for this one, this movie had me hysterically crying
Oh my god, I was WRECKED by the end
GIRL my niece just recently had me watch this and I was SOBBING at the end. Really did not expect to get so emotional lmao. Honestly I felt like they definitely had feelings for each other but it was mostly friendship and just genuine love for each other.
I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE‼️
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 enjoy luv 💜💜💜
I love how you talked about that bond between friends. It IS a magic thing and time. I'm 55, and God blessed me with one of those friends in the last couple of months. He's 26, and our friendship (and it is one hundred percent friends and nothing more) is a thing I'll never forget
The Queen is back. Yeah the queen is back. The queen is back, she's gonna do it again. She gonna wake up the neighborhood
this is my comfort video I truly come back to it like once a month just to feel
The queen has finally posted 😩🤚🏻!!! I have also noticed that Disney movies get better every year the quality is just soooooo good but of course the OG Disney movies are THE BEST 🤌🏻
That’s right honey, never gonna stop loving the old school. Disney movies 🙌🙌🙌
After this, I wanna go to Italy so bad. Call Me By Your Name could never.
The ending of the movie is. My heart. Okay I’ve rambled about it so many times but.
The island represents Luca’s freedom, but Alberto’s prison.
“You got me off the island Luca. I’m okay.”
You got me away from the worst part of my life.
Fun fact: Jacob Tremblay, the voice of Luca, also played the little boy who got tortured and murdered in Doctor Sleep...
My cheeks are numb from smiling. The commentary is a WHOLE (tax refund) MOOD!! Thank you for the reaction.
LMFAOOOOO that is the sweetest thing I’ve seen, I’m so happy you enjoyed it
You just bouncing waiting to see the town is so adorable
I was honestly so excited
bestie you know your audience so well it’s iconic
“Warning I Ugly-Cried” is the most apt description on this movie ever because same😭
Honeyyyyyy I was a mess 😭😭😭
I literally just watched and sobbed to this movie for the first time earlier today. Perfect timing! And wonderfully entertaining reaction as always.
Yes, the princess undercut 😂😍
Wait- I didn't notice that in Onward!!
LET'S GO!!! I've been waiting for this one!!!!
I’m Italian…and I feel so seen by this movie 😂
MY QUEEN IS GLOWING!! the face, lips! YEEEEES ❤️
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!
this movie is so cute, I cried like a baby 😢
You know I gotta stay looking good, especially when the camera is on💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 and I was the same way, I was even crying while I was editing like gurl I need help😭😭😭
“Some people, they’ll never accept him, but some will. He seems to know how to find the good ones”
THIS RIGHT HERE
Zzavid : you're one of them, aren't you?
Me:**sweats in lesbian**
LMFAOOOOO it’s a gift
Aww, I cried with you! I hope you watched the credits and got to see all the cute pictures that told more of the story. So amazing. And I totally think it's a metaphor for being queer and some of the struggles we go through with others and ourselves. Idc what Pixar says.
and it was released during pride month. how could this not be fruity😩
IM SO HYPED CAUSE LUCA IS SET IN MY HOMETOWN HSKSHSJSKSHSKD I FEEL SO HAPPY 🇮🇹🇮🇹
In that case I gotta go to your hometown, cuz this was GORGEOUS 💜💜💜
this is my first time watching anything from ZZAVID and I’m obsessed 😞👏🏼👏🏼 his personality and how he gave on his opinion on Luca was just a 10/10
Same this was the first video i saw him and I just kept going! He lights up our days, it’s pure laughter ✌️✨
"oh, he's a top" I died oml 🤣🤣💀💀
I can see them both as friends or as more, it would for sure be cute with a sequel where Luca and Alberto started dating or something 💕
Zzavid watching Bruno with his grama makes sense in my jantasy.
LMFAOOOOO
disney got some damn nerve sayin this ain't gay rep when every other damn time they'll dangle a supposed gay character in our faces like, "hi gay! our upcoming movie has the FIRST gay disney character ever so make sure u give us yr $$- oops, we mean make sure u watch it!" then the supposedly queer character is some bs like "background man #4" or "two women walking next to each other in frame for .2 seconds" or damn "lefou" bc we all know disney BEEN loving to queer code their villains. any sidenote- 11:53 love when zzavid gives us a lil wink
zzavid and pablo the duo we never knew we needed ❤️
💜💜💜💜💜
I for one loved this movie. As someone who comes from a “traditional” background, my parents are surprisingly supportive of all the LGBTQ+ members of my family, including me, a bisexual with a slightly-more-than-friends relationship between me and her, similar to Alberto and Luca. Also being half-Italian, I adored the moments of culture we got to see, up to the little Italian translations and of course, the food.
There is a short that has Massimo and Alberto showing how they are getting along while Luca and Guilia are away at school. Really heartwarming!
this film is the most times i’ve watched from pixar. i love everything about it and lowkey knew that there were something fruity between alberto and luca.
This has become my comfort video
If you cried watching this you need to pull up with a Big Hero 6 commentary, omg your gonna end up with a heart aneurysm
Oh lord, I need my heart to heal first
Disney and ZZAVID, a combo I never knew I needed.
Honeyyyyyy with my filthy mouth, I didn’t think it would be either LMFAOOOOO
Also you know the part where they're riding the red vespa together, with the other wild vespas. If you notice, the vespas are white, red and green. The italian flag. For the flag, green for freedom, white for faith and purity, and red for love.
Luca and alberto are riding the only red vespa, together 🥺😭😭
zzavid be hitting different lately youre looking fabulous
UUUUUUUUUUUU thanks luv
since pride month has ended we're going to the next sin. happy wrath month everybody!!!!
Very accurate honestly
LMFAOOOOO alright now
Wake me up when lust month comes.
After That reaction, I am not able to see that movie ever again without laughing my ass off! 🤣🤣 thanks zzavid
😂😂😂 my pleasure luv
i've watched this movie 5 times and still cried with you 😭😭😭
the trope of found family for Alberto, Luca embracing himself, both sides of himself, his parents fearing he will not be excepted and trying to hide him away in darkness, Luca literally coming out of the ocean and learning about the world, Julia's dad saying he "was born this way." the metaphors, the hints, people are trying to shame us for sexualizing a children story when art is nothing without a viewer who interprets it, understand and relates to it. LUCA is very much representation of a queer experience and there is nothing wrong for us to relate to it.
Yasss Queen, we been waiting for this one. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✨✨✨
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 hope you enjoy my luv
