Man I love seeing EMD GP units still working! Absolutely amazing! I love the Hobo Inn in Elbe! My kids and I stayed in the family suite (the box car), and it was awesome! Also my dad worked for IC back in the early 60s!
theres some pristine GP10s on the POVA railroad over in bonner and pend oreille county, one even still in IC livery (IC livery thats mostly faded though)
Definitely curious where the equipment is going. I see someone in another comment said "Ohio" for the engine, which would make sense (if it's a lessor), but how about the cars? If they're still American Heritage Railroading I would guess North Carolina or Missouri; it sounds like they just bought a railroad there (Branson Scenic).
Wow, I’m surprised they actually ended up doing a movement from MRSR territory to RNIR territory. Thought those tracks would be dead for a long time. Any idea where the GP10 is going afterwards?
I've seen those tracks from the road, and figured they were kept clear and somewhat passable just to make occasional equipment moves. Open Street Map doesn't even show an intact rail line between Elbe and Eatonville, just the dashed line of a former rail line. Pierce County is trying to discourage families from entering the back way to Little Mashel Upper Falls by saying they would be trespassing on an active railroad, and sometimes they're right.
The trainset was leased by American Heritage Rail when they owned the MRSR property. When Beth and Co. took over, they did an equipment review and decided it was better to let the lease expire. They did a whole post on FB about the decision and the thought process they made
@@caelumvaldovinos5318 Sure explains things and it's quite understandable. Still, I feel fortunate I got to see them myself before they left as I was just visiting MTSR just days before this footage was filmed. Probably the second time I visited a tourist line and I got to see something that would leave the place not long after my visit.
It’s the original old cast P3 it wore during its time on the ICG. Used to have a GP8 here on the Arkansas Midland Railroad, AKMD 707, that had a similarly sounded P3 before it was torched in 2024. (G&W and EPA reasons…)

Wait a Second. The Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad Livery and Logo Seem Awfully Familiar.
It got me Like *THE MILWAUKEE ROAD.*
That's because they run on a old THE MILWAUKEE ROAD line.
Good to see that some of the Paducah Geep's are still around. I grew up about a mile from the south rail yard in Paducah
My dad was a conductor on the I.C.G here in KY. Probably rode on this engine at various times when it worked the coal mines
Nice video last time out there was back in the 90s👍
The Geep sure looks sharp in the Milwaukee color's.
Good job clearing the brush. Some was still around based on what's hanging from the two engines but good job!
Got to ride on 9120 in 2019 when 70 broke never thought it would be leaving the property
Thanks, this really made my day. I have a soft spot for Paducah rebuilds.

The A&M need those Tacoma Rail cars to go with the SD70ACe's they got from them.
A&M took enough of our stuff, they’ll be fine
@@AtTheCrossingProductions 😂
I heard this and thought Tacoma rail was running the Hill Job again!
Shame it has to go.
A shame indeed, but it’s going to better places and will make room for more projects on the MRSR. Excited for what their future holds
Sad to see 9120 leave, I remember her and NP 7012A hauled the last train I rode before moving cross-country. Any idea where 9120 is headed now?
Ex PRR Amtrak Congressional Limited coaches and lounge car.
Excellent video my friends awesome 😮fantatic locomotive Greeting 🙋 from Argentina 🇦🇷 suscribete 😊
I thought I heard a train going up the valley by the gun club.
I was thinking that I was
hearing things.
Ghost train.
AMAZING video! Thought it would be WAY longer before this stretch of track saw any activity whatsoever again!
Thank you! I had the same impression before a friend texted me "Be in Eatonville tomorrow" the night before
Wait, so MTSR no longer owns the engine and the passenger cars the diesel was hauling?
So wait where’s it headed to?Is the locomotive going to still pull excursions or off to permanent residence in a siding at a museum?
I don’t know where it is headed, just “Ohio”. Could be a revenue freight operator

Cars are going to Mt. Hood

All I've heard is "Ohio", but I believe the intent is to keep it in operation, thankfully

@@ArthurAllen2 There are also some vague plans of getting regular rail service over that territory
Didn’t they just take delivery of that a few years ago? Why are they surplussing it
Mount Rainer Scenic Railroad does not own the equipment, and after the pandemic were not able to use it. This frees up room in their small facilities

Great video! That Rainier Rail engine's horn though. Ugh...replace it already.

*1000 feet aprox on St. Helens
Why is it the final run of the GP10?
It is being sent to a new railroad, as it is not owned by the MRSR.
