DC for public, but limited to high rotation areas. But AC will be used on the rest of the scenarios. I have an EV since 2014 and only charged DC on a couple to times, below a hand full of times, but AC is what I use 98% of times. To put into context, my car has 230.000km and charges on a daily basis.
Thank you Gaz for the shoutout, and for a brilliant show tonight it was very informative and interesting even though I’m not interested in EV technology. Fantastic work as always 👍
Hi Gaz & Gordon - just for info, we (Electrical Investigation Ltd) have been assisting a large DNO to trial a DC substation (11kV AC to 900V DC), with the intention of directly supplying DC charge points. Probably can't say too much at the moment as this is an innovation trial and work in progress - however could possibly get you both a site visit if that's of interest... All the best 👍
i was reading a car charger install in your house will drain your battery, in your solar so you have to prevent that by rewiring it out of the cv sensor ,on your mains wiring,i have not read if your inverter can prevent it
Garry n Gordon...I know you guys are good...but ya cant be better than Doc Brown from Back to the Future...so why does the above video say "0:02 / 1:28:02 Welcome to eFIXX TV 20th April 2024 ...when 20th April 2024 hasn't happened yet...."Come on Garry...we have to get Back....Back to the Future"
Quite the controversial title! I'm looking forward to your implementation of this DC take over. I believe that Mr. Thomas Edison also claimed the same thing over 100 years ago, and yet AC is used world wide today. LOL.
Just started watching this, great channel lads, keep up the good work

Lots of Thanks
👍🏻 thanks
Alpitronic do a 400kW unit.
very poor dc charger conductors insulation though

DC Chargers are similar to welders transformer...
Let’s plug a car in an see just how similar 😉

Apart from motors and electric arc furnaces; there are not many things which actually work on AC. Transmission - yes.
