    Wonderful dancing. I like it when he smiles! I'm glad dancers keep doing their wonderful stuff in these difficult times. I'm from the USA, so I don't care for the present aggressive & dangerous situation; but artists aren't politicians, and I admire them and wish them well.. as I do the common Russian People.

      Ringht! I often heard the artists have to stop working: but imo the normal russian people dont decide in the kreml and it would be very bad to leave the folks without their culture. I do also respect the leaving artists. What would I do in such a situation? I`m not sure - I dont know.

      @@dr.edisonantunes8687 absolutely ;-) Mr Tiskaridze's performances are definitely worth revisiting. His dancing, technique, musicality, acting, power, control and physique (tall, well-built and muscular, with long legs and arms) were almost supernatural, even among the aforementioned top-class Russian dancers. A unique combination of masculine strength and feminine grace, the latter being perhaps the only aspect to may be discussed a little controversial. By the way - Portuguese is such a beautiful language!

      @@chrissiebabe234, you do not understand something. Tsiskaridze has no strong feeling or friendship for Egor Gerashchenko. Nobody spoke and goes on to speak as ill about Gerashchenko as Tsiskaridze did and goes on to do. After graduating Vaganova Academy in 2017, Egor Gerashchenko joined the Ballet Company of the Bolshoi Theatre. At first his teacher-repetiteur was Yuri Vasyuchenko. Then he was coached by Vladimir Nikonov. Now he is coached by Alexander Volchkov.

    His teacher, N. Tsiskaridze (sp?), is like Leschetizky, a famous 19th century teacher of many great 20th century pianists. Tsiskaridze has taught many great dancers, like a Leschetizky of ballet. This new principal has beautiful form and grace in Don Quixote - Gerashchenko. And in Nutcracker as a student still, he was a superb partner. And look at those flying leaps in Paquita, again as a student. Tsiskaridze must have adored him. No wonder Balanchine always remembered and was inspired by his early Russian training. The Russian method - Vaganova - has something the other great companies like the Royal and NYC Ballet lack - and that is emotional involvement. No good manners here. I had forgotten that Russian audiences clap in unison during the performance!

    It is refreshing to read these comments and to know that some people remain capable of separating Russia’s actions in Ukraine from its amazing and immense cultural legacy. Also that some can separate the Russian people, gulled by propaganda just as we are, from official Russian state acts. Bravo to you commentators and bravo to Egor as well. Russia remains an enigma wrapped in a mystery encased in a matryoshka doll for so many, a country both sad and grand, a culture late to the world stage but which has given the world so much in music, dance and literature. What a shame so few understand her.

    Wow! What a spectacular danseur! He looks so young in Don Quixote and Corsair, though, maybe 17? Anyway, I am not someone who watches ballet videos only to pick and criticize and to be snobbish about everything, but I’m not a big fan of those two ballets, I dk why, but the only men who can make me enjoy the solo pieces are Vladimir Vasiliev and Irek Mukhamedov. But if I were to see Garashchenko in those roles now, rather than as a teenager, he might just make me add him to my list, lol! He is seriously amazing!

  • @donnasherwood283
    @donnasherwood283 2 года назад +23

    he is not amazing he looks more like a gymnast than a dancer in ballet. it may be technically "perfect" but fails on the aesthetic scale monumentally Hope he has developed more artistry since these are his student days. guess no one here saw nureyev or baryshnikov at his age. almost as if they flew across a stage.

    • @luckyluke3619

      He is far from technically perfect! Just another attempt at promoting Russians as being superior in classical dance! I'll never forget what Makarova said to me when she came to America! It took me a year to realise that I had to relearn everything in order to get ride of all my bad habits ( she was reffering to the Vaganova style which was totally unsuitable for North American repertoire)

      @@olgashcherbachenko7934 дорогой зритель, пожалуйста не путайте «мягкое» с «тёплым». Извините, но «мужской» балет - это вообще что? Вы вообще понимаете разницу между, например, хореографией Константина Сергеева и Григоровича - понимаете ли вы также, что многое у Цискаридзе от Григоровича в том числе, который сам выпускник Академии Вагановой. Понимаете ли вы кто такой Лавровский и например, разницу между ролью и техническими средствами выражения, а также того, что некоторые мизансцены не прописаны, и каждый делает из так, как считает нужным, а также в том числе и то, что каждый артист - это индивидуальность, но при этом при всём «мужской», как вы говорите танец - это разные вещи, но технические данные - это технические канонические природные ресурсы. С другой же стороны - если у человека есть данные, а он ими не умеет пользоваться - это не тоже самое, что сильные и слабые стороны одного человека. Например Денис Савин - это далеко не премьерский артист - но он использует все свои сильные стороны, чтобы стать очень и очень большим профессионалом. А тут - говорят откровенно, ни та ни та ситуация.
