Make sure you clean all stripper from cables it dripped on. Years ago I owned a nice 1961 172. It had been painted before I bought it. As an A&P IA I inspected my own airplane. During the inspection I found the flap balance cable had only 3 strands remaining. It was under the upper wing gap strip. I had flown my family into a short field on its last flight.
Good suggestion and we're glad to hear you caught the issue before something bad happened. Thanks for watching and we hope you subscribe to see more of our projects journey! Safe flying - Carl
Thanks for watching and we hope you follow our journey! If you're in southern Ontario and looking to purchase Socostrip, we got ours from Hypercoat Downing in Mississauga. Give John a call :)
We want the exterior paint to be representative of the quality and workmanship of the software we've built for it! Our plan is to paint it a neutral base colour and use printed graphic vinyl to highlight the Ribbit colour scheme and add nice details. A few spots were flaking off but otherwise, you're right that it was pretty good! We wouldn't have done this if it was meant to be a weekend warrior. This plane is meant to make a statement ;)
We considered it, but the frigid cold and maple syrup is too irresistible to leave... Thanks for watching and I hope you stick around for more videos :)
Thanks for watching! If you have any questions that I didn't cover in the video, feel free to ask in the comments and I'll do my best to answer. Safe flying! - Carl

Nice vid! The paint with Socostrip looks like my palms after being in water too long
If your skin melts off like butter after extended expose to water, we recommend you see a physician 🐸
Old paint looked pretty good, why strip and repaint?

Never known anyone to apply paint stripper with a sprayer...😮
It's super handy and that's how the pros apply Socostrip. We used the Magnum X5 sprayer without an issue. Thanks for watching! :)
Wish you were in Cen Cali

Our plane desperately needs paint. After watching this, we may give it a go.
