Glad you found this helpful! Yes, after this video was released they did change the pricing structure. The good news is that there are other tools like it or there, and the general process is the same. 👍
@@LiveStreamingPros Already looking :) Now I know such plugins exist :) And maybe, just maybe, if I have a lot of Tapo (Kasa is discontinued in the Netherlands) devices, it's worth to pay the 12,50
Just a note though..if you mess up the applet and have to recreate it several times you will exhaust your 20 allowed applets for the free account. Even if you only have one applet on your account once you get it right. The fact that you created several already to get it right, those failures count still.
That webhooks applet does not work when trying to use the 2 free applets.. It is in the "pro" category. Unless I am doing something wrong? Otherwise the video wasted my time lol Please help if I am wrong. So far not at all impressed with the free applets ifttt! lol
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to use the Philips Hue plugin on the stream deck to automatically use the smart plug you have to turn on and off a TV or other electronic device? i think when i had one, i tried using bluetooth and it wouldn't connect and instead told me something about having to have a bridge, and so i didnt even try using the hue plugin from elgato and instad just returned it; did the same thing with govee and that was way worse; what can I do or did I do something wrong when trying this?
I'm trying to set up my stream deck to toggle some Mijia (Xiaomi) devices, but I can't see the Xiaomi app or anything related to it on IFTTT. Is there a way around this?
I was wondering, if I have a button on my stream deck XL that posts a !death counter in my Twitch chat, when it's pressed it would make another button that is the stream counter plugin by bar raider to increase its value; is there a way I can do this with IFTTT?
Make a video identical to this one with an alternative to Webhooks, as it now only works in the paid version. Congratulations on the content. I speak of Brazil
Lol IFTTT is so bad these days, no trigger available for most things I try, using this method with some other work arounds on events gets the job done, but when I create a new webhook applet it still has the same url surely it needs to be diffent each time?
Question: Can it be used with a multi-function? I have the Smart Life app on my phone. I want to connect it with my BRB screen so the lights will be off, then when I go to BRB, scene changes and lights come on.
I totally understand that you have nothing to do with their price model. It’s just crazy to think that someone is going to pay them $14.99 a month to turn a light on and off from a Stream Deck when it’s free if you use your iPhone. Absolutely insane!
The people who would pay for the service are using it for more than one purpose, there's a lot you can do with it, if you're interested in that type of thing.
Yes, unfortunately not all brands/products are compatible with IFTTT. Sometimes if you include compatible things, you can get some level of control that way. For example if you want to control your lights turning on and off but your light or bulb is not compatible, you can get a compatible wall plug and control it that way.
@@LiveStreamingPros I'm tottally new to this, and still learning. But IFTTT seems to be the go-to, and Iave see other options, unless you are connecting to home hubs (apple home, google, alexi)
Your stream also won't work without Internet either, so that's a moot point for that scenario. Bluetooth is an option for control access but does not offer additional automation options, and it can drop/fail as well. But to your larger point, yes, having a backup plan is always a good idea!
Thank you, love it. Gonna buy Tp-Link Kasas right away! Did it, but IFTTT costs 12,50 euros a month!!!
Glad you found this helpful!

This was so helpful! Exactly what I need to get going. Thanks so much!
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! 🎉 Hope you'll let us know how it goes!
I have saltwater aquariums. I have the GHL aquarium controller to monitor and control my aquarium.
But this seems to open more doors. Great video!!!
Glad you found this helpful!
Great vid. Only update is that now to get your key instead of "settings" its in "documentation"
Thanks for the tip!
Finally got it to work, thank you so much for this video!!!
That's great to hear - thanks for sharing the news with us! ♥ What type of content are you creating?
Excellent!! Gonna have to give this a try!

Yep, that's true!
Great vídeo! Thank you from Brazil. You helped me very much
Glad it helped! ♥️

So far not at all impressed with the free applets ifttt! lol
You are correct. They stopped free access to webhooks and now an expensive "Pro" subscription is required by IFTTT.

If that tool works with IFTTT, then sure! 👍
Great video! You are so clear and easy to follow!
Glad it was helpful! ❤
Faça um vídeo idêntico a esse com uma alternativa ao Webhooks, pois agora ele funciona somente na versão paga. Parabéns pelo conteúdo. Falo do Brasil

It would be the same general idea/process!

Yes, you'd handle the lights with IFTTT, and the rest in your streaming app. 👍
Thank you!!
You're welcome! ♥
I just heard about #IFTTT . Great video.
So glad you found this helpful - hope you'll let us know if you give it a try!
Is it me or does Streamdeck only send the trigger like 50% to IFTTT?
No, we're not seeing that issue, maybe try setting it up again? It's kinda weird how often that helps with tech... 🤷♀️
Nice ! That’s cool
IKR?!?! 😍
Amazing video!!!!!!!
❤
Dang, my lights aren't compatible with IFTTT
Maybe you can put them on smart plugs and control them that way?
Bam!
👍
Great video but $12 A MONTH TO TURN ON A PLUG... REALLY?
It was free when this video was created, things changed that are not under our control.

It would've been nice for you to mention that this would all cost $14.99.... I trusted your video and bought the plugs 😐
If you see the other comments, it wasn’t when this video was shot. :(
My smart plugs and lights do not work with IFTTT 😂

it's all paying service now :(
There's a free level: ifttt.com/plans
Yea now you have to have ifttt pro to use the webhooks. Total trash
IFTTT wants $13/month. :( Need a different solution.
The good news is there is lots of options out there! 👍
